The design is top notch and man you have really did a great job with animations. Also, codeing was well done and nize transaction effects. I would change the sounds from the mvc2 sounds for more custom stuff, but hell this bi-sh is a winner bro. Keep it up man you are another sleeper waiting to be discover if aren't already. :sugoi:

I would really like to use this with default portraits the customized portraits you have just don't match with my characters portraits on the select screen or versus screen. So is there a way i can customize or a way you can give me a version where default character portraits fit and won't go off the screen?

Versus of these is an image only.
The trick is that there is an animation of a blue gradient that only appears after the "Flash", and how it is in "trans = add and layerno = 1" change the tone of the portraits.
I can not make animated portraits.

I feel like I can help make templates, but I think Hloader's got it covered.
Despite what Dudley says, I feel willing to go through the trouble of making those six portraits for my characters, And I might make some more emblems. I'm an artist with a lot of time on his hands, after all (ah, the joys of unemployment >.>). When I get to it I'd be happy to put them here, I guess the problem would be would anyone be willing to go through the trouble of installing these portraits for all of THEIR characters?
But first things first. I want to critique this screenpack since I love how it looks so far (The first critique I've ever given anything mugen related), but now I'm waiting for my files to save, since I'm making a backup. So I'll tell you how it is later. ;)

Guys, all the models I have are only the portrait of Kyo, the Lyzer, and Haruhi.
I put these 3 chars because in fact, one has nothing to do with another, but when it does standard portrait gives the illusion that all characters look like.
I did not do anyone else because this is not a screenpack KOF or SF where they just do the portraits of characters that are part of the game.
In any char can get, and there are thousands among thousands of chars just to choose a 150 for this screenpack. And still has the image of each stage that adds the Select screen, I can even do some portraits of chars most popular KOF, SF, GGX, some anime, and others.
Also included is the KOF2002UM I'm finalizing the package of portraits to lifebars
and correcting the shit I did in 9000.1 of chars.
Maybe this week if you have time, I do some portraits of other characters that has a chance to enter the screenpack (A ryu, a geese, whatever).
Until then, you can follow the tutorials in the paint made with frames and templates included.
And should spend roughly 20 minutes per character if you do all the portraits.
Creating all at once and converting all at once.
The flat is only the parties who must move in the "def" to configure.
But I will try to help in the photographs.

I'm a man with exquisite taste. ;) Plus I've been pretty board lately, And I always wanted to try drawing more emblem like pics. The first one I made came out pretty good. And I wanted to help contribute to the community in some way, even if it's as minor as this.
EDIT: Well I finally got it open.... Kinda. I still get an "Out of Memory" error when I boot it up. But it looks like I don't have to copy and paste anything in my original Mugen folder. I can just double click the little Icon already in your folder. Sweet.
But when it boot, it automaticaly goes to full screen. How do I stop that? I want it to be on a normal 640x480 screen. And yes I checked the Mugen CFG file.

All you have to do is reduce the number of cells in the System.def. Although you have to do it the right way if you still want it to look right.

I will create a tutorial in English (broken English) to help.
Regarding the portraits, all of them are X = 0, Y = 0 if you follow the picture tutorial.

Trial and Error are the fathers of learning, I was sure there was a way but wanted to know if you put into it a way to change the slots like extra system.def files...
I've had one SP do that, the designer placed 3 different files one for 30 characters, 150, and 300 character slots, maybe when you update you can do this as well, just a thought for those who don't know how to edit the files, luckily in my case I do... thank you for the reply

Alright lets give this a shot, looks pretty sick. :D Oh I guess in order to see character select portraits and such in the versus screen you need to hard code them in or something? I put in a character for test and his lifebar portrait wasnt properly on the cell block. Other then that I really like it. Didn't check if there are combo # voices yet. I hope there is :)
Also for some reason when I create p1 buttons and go to character select screen I am always p2 and in practise mode I can't select my opponent to practise on it always choses mirror self and I am always on p2 side. Probably my fault in there some where but motifs aint my thing so I dont know how to go about making it right.

Shouldn't be too much of a hassle if you've got less than 100 characters.
And/or if you are pretty good at rendering characters.

Sorry, it took so long to get back to everyone. Yeah, this screenpack is awesome. but as I said before, without the right portraits it's just not as beautiful.

I'm almost done with KFM's set, but the goddamn 9000,2 part is pissing me off. Every time I position the winning portrait to the bottom it's too low, but when I move it up AT ANY HEIGHT it's automatically too high. >:(

I made the portraits, custom made, well, I copied your Kyo text because I made one for Hero's Kyo.
Anyhow, I replaced all the Haruhi slots with Hero's Kyo.
None of the portraits I made show up at all.
Any time I select him or encounter him, it freezes, saying it can't read Kyo's SFF.
And the Spanish(?) tutorial mentions Shared Pallate, but I'm not sure if I should select it.
All the colors get screwed up if I press it, and if I unselect it, the colors are still screwed up...
EDIT: How did you make or get the Emblems for EX-Kyo/Lyzer/Haruhi?

are you making them in photoshop? then in that case convert into indexed.... no wait you did that.
go into fighter factory and edit the transparancy of the portriat (this case, pink) twice
(yes, twice, i have to do it twice since only doing it once still makes the pink come out)

How did you make or get the Emblems for EX-Kyo/Lyzer/Haruhi?
I used Corel Draw to make the emblems, just used the images that are more reminiscent of char. (Kyo used the sun, haruhi modified the current symbol of the SOS Brigade and tried to add lizer rays.)
It's about the same inspiration.
And I do not select shared palette for portraits created

Stir in the KFM winmugen traditional right, because this is only 720 SFFv2.

It is used BlazBlue and Arcana Heart as references and inspiration to make a number of chars (which only has a lot BlazBlue weapon in the emblems, is quite complicated to make a character who uses his hands).

It's all zero vector, as I know messing with corel, it is easy to do, the same annoying is knowing what to do for the emblem represent that character, the elements that the character possesses and uses in his current game and incorporate the emblem.
An example below is the emblem that I made in the morning at work, that will be used pro portrait of Rock Howard.

The 9000/1 portrait appears.
But with the pink transparent crap. all over it.
And from what I can see in the EX-Kyo's SFF you provided hloader, the actual transparency color is grey, but the transparency color in the portraits are pink?
How'd ya do that?

I found an error within the 9000/1 mold.
You made the mold a bit too big, and most people wouldn't bother changing the mold size.
I compared the EX-Kyo's 9000/1 portait and the 9000/1 template, and found out a size difference.

Here's a fixed template for it.
I managed to get Kyo's 9000/0, 9000/1, and 9000/2 portraits loaded, all the way to the vs screen.
But it still crashes after that.
The template was 477x504.
But the actual portrait is supposed to be 424x460.

Yup.
I just exported EX-Kyo's portrait, added the template as a layer, and aligned the template to fit Kyo, and cropped.
Oh yes.
I found another error in one of the portraits.
9000/7 to be exact.
The template is 24x48.
But the actual portrait is supposed to be 19x41.

the gray portion of the frames are not only protecting image to escape.
As much as I say just delete this protection at the end. When seen pcx, cut leftover is perfect without any image. The editor sff does this automatically.

Keep in mind that KFM720 has a Localcoord of 1280, 720. That's widescreen.
Try applying all those portraits to the non 720 KFM.
And remove the normal KFM's localcoord.

Drag the desired sprite so that the center cross doesn't get in the way.
Print screen button.
Paint.
Crop the sprite out.
Presto.
But be sure to open the SFF again.
DO NOT SAVE RIGHT AFTER THIS step or it'll screw with that one sprite.

The main menu is fine.
And the little animation before the select screen...
It lags. Sometimes. Sometimes it goes smoothly
And the vs screen.
The letters pop up fine.
But when they go away, it starts lagging.
And then the whole, revealing thing, where the black thing's scrolling down.
It goes fine for like half of the animation, but then it starts lagging like crazy.
Matches are fine.
So is the VS Screen.
I just wanna see if its my computer that sucks, or if its the fact that I'm running too many things.

Vista sucks with everything. And my computers aren't gold, one has 2gb and the other 4gb ram... one has a dual core the other a quad. Nvidia cards 9500 and 8600 I believe.

this screenpack is for people who actually care to have a good mugen game (not to be rude but i mean that its for people who have some concept of the characters they want to keep and use, usually balanced characters) so if you choose to continue searching for another screenpack, you could use a more basic one that doesn't involve changing the portraits. but if you want a balanced mugen game with multiple platform character (DC, KOF, ect.) this one seems to be the most astounding screenpack made for MUGEN 1.0, even if it is not HD.

people edit the motif to have less if they want --; but if your not leaving feedback (aka bugs, things of this nature) please don't flame the screenpack :)
people are currently making more portraits for this screenpack, including myself and posting them so that other users can place them in their characters. check the other thread for any portraits you need and resquest them as well that way we all come out winning :)

(lyzer used the montype Corsiva, shingouki used the arial rounted, Haruri used the impact)
It's a matter of taste.
If the character already has its default font (like the characters of marvel vs.capcom) there is just rip the image and place in space.

I also want to know how to reduce the character slots in this screenpack.
Changing the rows and columns in the system.def doesn't seem to do anything but move the position of the slots.

you should just remove the character spaces in the select.def and replace them with ";".

As for the names, be specific. The names in the note pad what? If you want to change the name of a character in the select.def, do it like any regular character, unless you talking about something ..... nevermind you can do the samething, change it to your liking, as if you where editing any .txt file.

No, Sal...he's saying he would like to remove the names of the chosen characters from the spots under Elizabeth and Ash on the left side and under Maki/Chizuru and Mr. Big on the right side so that he can put 3 more characters in those spots on each side...

Just put it "p1.name.font = 0,0,0" and "p2.name.font = 0,0,0" that there is no source and then add the chars in place of names in there "select.def.

thanks guys for helping me with my char edit situation but I've come across some problems with my bgm and my number of matches in arcade, team arcade, etc. For the bgm problem, my songs that I put for the stage is like slowed down for some reason. In the arcade, team arcade, etc, I cant play over 2 matches I always get the ending "congratulations", any idea how to change this I'll really appreciate it.

you only have two matches because it is written in paragraph 2 in the amount of order.
Simply modify the value to any other number.
Are orders of 1 to 10.
In the case of Screenpack, are only available two fighting order = 1.
The other orders are = 0 then you have no fights.
The chars can be added to any Order of 1 to 10.
EX:
char, order = 1
char, order = 2
char, order = 2
char, order = 4
in this example so that the code should all strive to be like this:
arcade.maxmatches = 1,2,0,1,0,0,0,0,0,0
Where:
A char in order = 1,
2 chars in order = 2,
in any order = 3,
and 1 in order = 4
This is useful for organizing the normal chars, and boss.

ummm the other digits represent order=2, order=3, etc. characters.
What you did was add 10 order=1 characters to the arcade.
lets me do a quick rerun of the arcade.
arcade.maxmatches = 7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0,0,0
Ok the first number represents how many order=1 characters you will fight in arcade, in my example its 7 characters
The second number represents how many order=2 characters you will fight, example 6
The third number represents how many order=3 charatcer you will fight, example 5
and so on for each number. I hope you got what I tried to explain :)
And HLoader, are you making an HD version of this screenpack? :???: I really want it since ithe current one looks pretty bad in quality once in fullscreen :'(

The HD version was my first idea of this Screenpack.
But my PC does not support a Screenpack with great animation in HD.
Only on the screen "press enter" the second radius has made everything slow here.
So I gave up the HD. Just make HD Screenpack simple and not many animated.

thorobred, on the select.def, after each character name, you need to add the order=1-10
Example,
[Characters]
kfm, stages/KFM_Dojo.def, order=1
as you can see, its the name of the character, the name of the stage and then the order=1-10.
If there is no stage you want to use for him/her, just do something like this:
[Characters]
kfm, , order=1

but I only get three matches :(

Let us follow the footsteps of Jack (going by the parties).
Put only "first order" on the characters that will be of order.
then down there, just set the number of chars in the "first order".
arcade.maxmatches = X, 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
Play and see if all of order one are appearing.
If it works, do it with the other orders.

Has this time four different motifs. (2 with the same custom portraits, and portraits with two standard mugen, including lifebars).
Screen select the best set, and winner versus fixed.
Folders contain separate files for replacement of motifs.
The pattern of Screenpack is "Motif1", the other 3 are the choice of who to download.

The RC8 was pacing in the "stop" the track between the display of "select" and "character profile", >:D so I leave it in RC7.
But nothing prevents you from using the RC8.

EDIT: @xyrz: that is an example of an intro when on selects a character of the select screen in Arcade.
Only works with characters that you have added a intro. (this is optional)

all i did was copy my files from folder to folder and pressing default in mugen options.
here is a smalll tutorial by HLoader himself about updating to RC8 that he made a while ago.

I have a question. How can I change the sound where the woman is talking in Japanese just before a fight begins? I tried searching for a sound file so that I can replace it, but I didn't find it anywhere.
PS: The reason I want to do this is because the words that are being said then don't feel good for a battle start announcement. It probably wouldn't bother people who don't know the language, but since I have some knowledge in Japanese and it annoys me so I want to change it.

lol open fighter factory, under the Sound tab, open the fight.snd in the data folder. make sure you make a back-up just in case you mess-up.
now, you should have something like this

make sure you have the sounds you want on your desktop (anywhere but use desktop for conviniece) and make sure that the sound is in wav format.
Press on this icon to change the sound for the one you want.

save and presto! of course, you navigate the sounds and change one by one (you should know this by now)
open mugen and your fight shall have different sounds!

It hangs up for me after i've chosen a character. I've not added any other characters. Then three stages. Darkest Day, The Underworld and And No Heart. I got Mugen RC8, and i followed instructions on every ways and pages, tutorials too...anything i did wrong?

I'm also using Mugen 1.0 (final), and used this method with success. Give it another go, perhaps some addresses to sound files need to be corrected.

Damn, sorry, been kinda busy. I was going to go into more detail, but I can't at the moment. Also I was going to double check that what I'm about to tell you is correct, but I can't where I am :P Basically, I had the same problem, I think this is what I did, though the memory has faded a little, try this; It is a font problem, copy all the fonts from the screenpack fonts folder into the other fonts folder, the main Mugen 1.0 one. If it asks you to overright, you can do that, though I don't think it matters, because some of them are simply the same. Essentually, you want all the screenpack fonts in whatever font folder Mugen is directed to look at. After I did that, the menu was visible. If that doesn't work, I dunno, try it the other way around, just put all the fonts in all the font folders :P

Music problem is a problem is a problem with the older builds of 1.0, it's fixed in the actual Mugen 1.0 Release.

That's the one I have, I'm new to Mugen so I'm not actually sure if that's the RC8 or RC7 or anything because to be honest I don't even know what RC means lol. I only have about 20 chars so far but I can't get the background music to work when I turn the game on nor do I have any clue how to do character portraits. I'm such a newbie that I don't even know how to get transparent backgrounds in paint lol
Thanks everybody for trying to help me so far. I'm a few years late with Mugen but I really wanna use this screenpack as its the in my opinion the one with the most features on it unless there's a better 1 out there

That's the version of Mugen I had but I redownloaded it anyway, changed the folders, reset the settings and that Call of Duty music from when the game first comes on still doesn't play.
Can somebody upload a working Mugen 1.0 with this screenpack and everything already in it with the background music working already because this is not working for me lol I'm not Mugen savvy at all, I just know how to download, extract and insert chars, stages and sounds.
And is making the 9 portraits a difficult process? I'm trying to get started on that and so far I'm trying to make portraits for my Spider-Man char but the furthest I've gotten is just capturing a screenshot of his sprite.. that's it! I'm so lost...

Okay I'm confused now.. so should I get the RC8, RC7 or the most recent for this? And if I don't have the 9 portraits will my character still appear because I have the tutorial on how to make them but I guess I have the wrong version of Paint because Idk how to make backgrounds transparent or anything at all.. I only just know how to open a picture up lol.. sad I know... gimme a few months, still a newbie

Quick question, i added some portraits for a character that works for both winmugen and mugen 1.0. The portraits looked nice one i added them and the character works fine. The problem is that even though I added all the portraits, 9000,2 doesnt show up.
You know, the one that comes up during the vs screen.
The axis of the portrait is a x=0 y=0, oh and the victory portrait shows up. I don't know what's wrong now =\

Chalk me up as one more person who's totally confused about how to get this gorgeous looking screenpack working with MUGEN 1.0.
I followed the how-to posted earlier by Azul but no luck. I get a start screen with the default animated background but no visible text for mode selection. Other than that the sounds are nicely different.
Can someone who has gotten this working from scratch in MUGEN 1.0 (and preferably for whom English is their primary language (no offense, it just muddies things sometimes)) please give a step-by-step guide?

While I do have to say this looks really good, I had problems putting it in my game. I didn't know 1.0 had a different way of installing Screen Packs, but when I tried to put it in, I had no characters. I messed around with the files a bit, and I got all the spaces filled with KFM, but The menu font and title screen was gone. Can someone tell me the right way to install this?
P.S. It ran really slow on my comp.

all screenpacks I post not need to move the files, you just extract and run the EXE. Because everything is already in place.

great screenpack update bro Hloader! i fell in love with the first version i got with Kyo and the other babe and now i replaced it with this one with Morrigan and Hazama as stand ins. great repackage man . you do very very awesome work and it runs wonderfully. keep up the great works.

I did not do HD because it would weigh absurd.

Well, I've installed this program few days ago and I found this screenpck the MOST EPIC AWESOMENESS on this planet. I knew I had to install other programs like mugen character maker, etc... I've followed the tutorials ( I hoped the instructions were in english, portuguese is soooo hard to translate fr me) and I've created the portraits as well for the chars I have.
After this long intro, my problem is the following:
-Where I can find a program that converts GIF files to PCX files as 256 colors? Once I've converted them, but as MCM as FF reproduces my image "deformed".
-I'm a super noob of this matter, but how can I replace the old portraits of my char (Iori Yagami) by the ones I've been created on tutorials?
- When you create a char profile, what's the most effective way to show it on the game? The tutorials wete too unclear
- The same thing for: Emblemas no Título; Imagem dos stages; Random Select
