Hi folks,
Four months after the initial release of Goku's early beta, here comes the long awaited update !!! :sugoi:
Balthazar and I have worked our ass off to deliver the best Goku possible.
There really is too much to list for this new version, so I'll just post the essential :
- Sprites fully updated by Balthazar.
- A Challenge Mode to practice and win prizes.
- 3 new follow-ups for Kaiyoken.
- New variations for several specials and supers.
- Full game features : Beam Collision, Chou Kamehameha Fatality, etc.
- Many new intros and winposes, with several hidden ones. Will you find them all !?
- Tons of palettes (see the palette chart), as well as winquotes, new FX, new sounds, etc.
- Graphic overhaul on many moves so they feel better.
- Tons of gameplay fixes: no more infinites, more balance, more combos, more fun!

YES! We did work our asses off, it's time to say goodbye to Goku (but not forever). I hope everyone can appreciate all the hard work we put into this, and indeed make him not only the best Goku for mugen, but simply one of the best mugen character creations PERIOD. Now go, download and enjoy!

I had a great time, loved all the new winposes, even setup my arcade mode with more fights to get more wishes.
Also, why not changing it from ten fights, to eight? and make it a thing that happens anytime you win arcade.

1) I don't see the point. :P Well, 10 was chosen as a random number that felt fine.
2) That was the plan at the beginning, making it happen ONLY when you win Arcade mode, but it turns out you can't trigger this kind of sutff in Mugen. :( That's why I went with the "every 10 matches" thing.

Awesome,but just out of curiosity how are you able to position where the challenge requirements appear on screen. It's kind of annoying when your in the middle of a long combo and your combo counter obscures the list.
Other than that all of your hard work has been appreciated. Maybe it'll motivate me to do something too someday.

Nope, I didn't add any option to change the placement of the challenge requirements. Sorry.
If anything, you can probably do a Ctrl+D, Ctrl+L to remove the lifebars (and thus the combo counter).

i'm having a little trouble downloading this, it just stops downloading in the middle then when i retry the download i end up with a corrupted file error whenever i try to extract it. so far i have this same problem with the sendspace and cvg links, i'm trying the Rapidshare link now and so far its going alright

close your browser and clear cookies. might help. i know the file not corrupted.

Yeah, you may have a slow connection, and DL may be stopping in the middle. Try until you succeed, or maybe use a download helper.

I see that damaging is down and I can't seem to do my 1500+ damage combo anymore. That's good, but he still is able to do one that's 1141 damage.

Okay, let me make some serious comments now:
Holy shit I made a lot of palettes.
This update is fucking fantastic. I love the new sprites and moves, and the challenge mode is really neat and i'd love to see it used in more characters. Tons of interactivity with this guy makes him stand out. Really solid gameplay too.
Overall, i'll say this to no exaggeration in that this may well be the best character created for MUGEN ever.until JZ and Diepod finish Bluestreak
Excellent job guys. Can't wait to see what you do with Vegeta.

Don't use it for now. His AI patch modifies the CNS files a little to add AI stuff inside, so using the patch will completely fuck up Goku at this point. Better wait till he updates his AI patch.

Awesome update, Cybaster. The Genki Dama follow-up to the Kaioken was simply amazing ;D
I dont know if this is really a bug with Goku, but when Goku is KO'd and the opponent has some sort of winpose that makes them move to the KOed character, it glitches up the winpose for said character (CM Punk for example)

That's because I coded Goku so that he's sent out of screen when he's KO'd. But yeah, that can be problematic in some case against some opponents. I'll change it so it acts like that with Goku VS Goku only then.

The thing that's supposed to stop you is that nobody will let you have MAX Hope Gauge AND 3 powerbars. If you get up to this point, it already means you trampled the opponent well enough, and you should take the easy route and perform Genkidama Kaioken instead. ;D

Touche...unless it's Turn battles with 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. Or, you build up enough in the 1st or 2nd round and in the next, go to town on them. I see your point, though. :)

Superb character. The most groundbreaking creation since Evil Ken. The AI has been updated as well as appears to be working without issue for now.

Still, awesome character, first slot on my competitive team, and can't wait for all compatibilities to be fixed (Dash collision with other chars, Beam struggle, etc)

I had full power, and I wanted a challenge, so I increased the other Goku's power to see if I could have a challenge, and when I saw the message, I decided to check and see if it'd work. It did.
I meant that other creators add things to comply with this piece of epic win.

Just figured I'd throw it out there. And by challenge, I was hoping that the AI would be some form of challenge with access to supers and that at the beginning

One small thing I'd probably suggest to add (but not totally necessary) would be to add the input command during the trial mode so you can see the buttons needed. Like I said it's not totally necessary but it's a nice thing to have, so people can learn the character a bit more easily, I like the idea you have of unlocks for doing it though :)

There's the readme you can enjoy reading first, and the Easy Challenge Mode to perform all the moves. By the time you do the Medium Challenge Mode you won't even need the ingame imput list ;)

:sugoi: Okay guys I just found a bug for you about Genkidama and time. When the time is almost over and you throw the Genkidama to your opponent he will miss and this is what happens after :

That is a glitch with the engine, it happens with every char (Do a super like K's Chain Drive and it will miss hits once time's over).
Cybaster, I suggest you to stop the timer once you hit with those cinematic supers.
btw, how are you even going to include that combo in my video if the instructions are so long? :gonk:

I know better than that "buddy", that super is not long enough, grab somebody with a super as long as Goku's, test it out and then come back.

Not gonna get fixed if the time's over before the super connects, in which case... Cybaster, null the hitdef for the initial dash if roundstate>2 so it wont hit if time's over (And also make sure it wont hit the nearest enemy if he's dead before, just an extra detail I often include in this kind of supers).

However since you have so many variety of palettes, at least stuff like the SF3 hitsparks as an option in the config would be a bit nice, but more of an aesthetic thing really, and not really needed.

Meteor Kick right when you hit em with the SK Hurricane Kick, it gets easier with repetition. I'm on challenge 15 of 20 now, I haven't done it yet because I need to rest my fingers. This is Capcom level shit right here.

EDIT: Since you had an issue with Cartwheel Kick I assume you'll have issues with the counters, so I'll tell you how to do that also, no need to leave you in the dark like SF3. It's block, then forward + 2x P or K depending on which counter you want.

I'm glad I saw my winquote "Now I can get back to my delicious muffins!", and I've been trying out the character with alot of characters and the Chou Kamehameha fatality is really consistent, though on alot of tall characters like Juggernaut and Hulk the bottom part of the foot stays on the screen unusually long, I'll get a screen if you like.

You can never target any character that has full hitoverride ( minus the reversal.attr hack, not relevant here ). Which is why you should always numtarget anything with target redirects.
Make sure to always give it it's own line.

I agree, but in this case, the full Kaiyoken move is a throw that send the opponent to various custom states, depending on Goku's state each time.
So from the beginning of the move, the opponent should be a target, and should never be able to come out from that. Changing these lines will probably remove the debug flood, but I don't really think that'll fix the real problem : opponent not staying in his custom states.

I agree, but in this case, the full Kaiyoken move is a throw that send the opponent to various custom states, depending on Goku's state each time.
So from the beginning of the move, the opponent should be a target, and should never be able to come out from that. Changing these lines will probably remove the debug flood, but I don't really think that'll fix the real problem : opponent not staying in his custom states.
Are you using targetstate, or p2stateno on a hitdef ? Throws are the only exception where it is better to NOT use targetstate and instead use p2stateno. What that'll do is ""invalidate"" the hitdef to any enemy with hitoverride, it'll ""miss"" ( it's supposed to cos ""they don't ever want to be thrown"" ), so errors, debug and actual, are completely impossible.
There's also selfstate, an enemy instantly selfstating out of any custom state is piss simple if they have one coded ( example - the pacifier ), it can be used as an alternative to hitoverride, but unlike hitoverride, they can still be targeted for about a tick, which is long enough for the entire move to execute and do absolutely nothing the entire time ( just like those screenshots Nanashi posted ), which is why you should have your own selfstate that checks if no target exists and / or if they're not in the state you specified them to be in.

@ 2OS : I use targetstate on the hitdef indeed, and then targetstate each time, but I think that doesn't matter.
So yeah, maybe I could switch to p2stateno on the first hit and see what happens.

The hardest part about that eighth challenge is landing the EX Dragon Fist, which in most cases tends to hit only once before the opponent is too high. :-\

I can't just do it in one try it takes a few, and you pretty much have to one-try everything to get the password.

Eh the fastest I've gone today is 536 secs to challenge 16. Atleast I'm getting faster, but I'm gonna take a break. Btw to restart the challenges conveniently just mash start and go back to Kami's challenge.

What happens with the Expert Challenge? When I complete the 4 missions it goes back to the Challenge Mode selection screen. Not even a Congratulations message (http://i.imgur.com/pmOfv.gif)

Didn't notice the 99 --; Since Blair Dame's Expert Mode was incomplete as well, I though that Goku's Expert wouldn't have the same problem (http://i.imgur.com/RPr8w.gif)

The_None's Ren Idagawa recovers after 'Bicycle Kick' hits and will recover after the first hit of 'Meteor Attack'.
Is that a problem from Goku or Ren?

It's more of a stage problem, if the camera following parameter of the stage is set so it follows the chars only if they're very high. not much I can do here, it's stage dependent.

He doesn't just float. Sometimes he slides.

Just finished playing around with the updated Goku and man am I amazed. This just makes me push harder on my project by 100 folds. very nice work. There are some things I would had added on the detailing of the animations like his hair but that i can send you a PM about. I dont want to come off like I am bashing the animations because they are all nice. I am just a detail freak :S

I did a combo consisting of (with a Lv1 Genki Dama stocked :P ); Ex Dragon Fist combo, Ki-blast x3, Genki Dama Launch, Kamehameha :P !
The catch is the alignment of p2 with the wall, and the distance of Goku vs the wall...but yeah it did connect ^^! And no I was not recording it,
but it shouldnt be too hard to replicate ;) . And that was a Lv1 Genki Dama, again, so not a Lv2/3 that launches p2 into the sky!
