With the potential it has, it made me wonder why is this whole section so quiet. Is anyone still developing something?

Search for "EF-12" in Youtube, Niconico Douga and other video services, and in social media like Twitter. You will see a lot of development from Nightwolfy1992, BlackElementForce, アノマロかりんとう, ITKS, Yuuto Inashiro, among others.

Pretty late for a response, but yeah. Development support is mostly from Japan as of now; good work has been done considering the amount of time EF-12's been public.
