I'm having trouble finding available resources. I've been Googling over the past few days, and I've found that a lot of the guides or the resources are either expired, or they're really old. I'm talking about 2000-2003.
I'm asking for help because I'm trying to rip sprites from The King of Fighters 99 Evolution, specifically those from Kyo SP (the striker version of Kyo), and the portraits for Syo Kirishima (for use with Ahuron's Syo Kirishima). Is there anyone here who has ripped sprites from a Dreamcast emulator before, and if so, which emulator and programs did you use, and is it possible for me to use nullDC to rip the sprites as well? The game runs great on that emulator but I'm not sure if I should switch or not before using other programs to rip the sprites out.

The bulk of my DC ripping came from chankast but I can't seem to run it anymore so I started using NullDC. To get rid of layers you'll need to use a game hacking tool like artmoney or cheat engine.
I made an artmoney tutorial years back.

You can apply it to cheat engine as well.

You're still around 11 years later? That's amazing.
I know it's a little off topic but I'll keep it brief. What have you been up to since then?

Well that's a long time to fill in gaps!
Let's try an abridged version!!!
So I finished that tutorial and quit MUGEN for a while do to the old elitists. I got into making web comics. Guys here brought me back to help reshape Guild without permissions rules and elitist crap. I became GMod for a while in the new forum. Was barely online due to my webcomic so I finally resigned again.
Did my webcomic for several years. Stopping by Guild on occasion. Got married. Had a kid. Kid takes too much time I can't juggle my webcomic and be a dad. Go back to MUGEN so I can work on a hobby I like almost as much as my comic but with no deadlines to meet.
For some reason Iced made me admin cause he's not smart. I started dissecting Vampire Savior to make Rikuo, joined HDBZ and started making Gotenks, and most recently commissioned a sprite artist to help make sprites to bring Megaman X to MUGEN.
There... 11 years in a nutshell :rolleyes4:

You could probably use NullDC and Vans's KOF table as a base (it works for every NeoGeo KOF up to 2002). Engine won't be that different, so a lot of stuff will carry over.

That's amazing. And congrats on the kid too. Good to see MFG is still around.
Anyways, should I be worried about having only one way to rip the sprites? What I mean is that is ripping the sprites while the game is running the only way, and do I need to be concerned about certain limitations with sprite ripping in regards to enabling and disabling the layers as well as finding the sprite values using ArtMoney?
What I'm concerned about is that there are actually portraits of the strikers in KoF 99. A majority of them can be directly ripped from the Striker menu itself intact, but Gai and Syo are a different case. When I got the save file for KoF 99 Evo', I noticed that there are large portions of Syo and Gai's portraits that are incomplete.
For instance, if you go to the select screen and the versus screen, you can see the portraits for Gai and Syo, but it's not incomplete. Lastly, is it possible for me to rip sprites from cut scenes as well? I'm specifically trying to rip all the sprites used for Kyo SP (Kyo Kusanagi striker). He had a complete set of sprites for his running animation before and after fighting Krizalid and I want to extract those.
