Ok, some feedback...

It's nice to see DGs old stuff being used today.

- I like the zoom effects and the Lv3 Super art
- Technically that is no AI patch anymore. By adding a new move, that is a Edit.
- Ryu DG is a "normal" Ryu with all the expected moves and commands. I have never seen him use such a Setplay/Trap mechanic (Or am I forgeting something?), but I'm open for new specials for Ryu.

Now the problems I have with the "Flying Ball"...
- No materialize sound for the energy mine, no sound from Ryu, no hit sound from the ball when it hits p2
- Why on God's green earth do you use "w" as command for the "Flying Ball"? Just "w"? I use a PS3 controller, so "w" is one of my shoulder buttons,
but... to be more "in line" with Ryu and his command/moves... shouldn't that be more like a QCF+w command?

In summary: The "Energy Ball" special feels tacked on with the trap mechanic, the "w" only command and that it has no sounds at all.

Thank you for your feedback. I haven't added sound for the flying ball yet because I'm still looking for a suitable sound, so it's still blank.

Regarding the AI patch, if you have time, download the Ryu DG version and check how the character controls attacks, blocks, parries, rolls, how to use level 1 supers, etc. You'll have a different perspective.

Regarding the use of the W button, for me, it's simpler. Why not use the empty button? Why complicate the attack mechanics? Why not keep it simple and focus on strategic execution instead of constantly thinking about how to press the button correctly to execute moves?

That is the point. It is simple. Should it be that simple to use?
This is just my feedback.
Spoiler (click to show)

Character specific reasons
Ryu is the definitive Shoto. QCF + P and you get his projectile, F, D, DF + P and it's his ant-air and QCB + K to get his Hurricane Kick for combos or traversing distanc. To be "in harmony" with those motions, the Energy Ball should have some similar command, then just a simple button push.

Archetype reason
Ryu is a balanced all-rounder with good zoning, anti-air and close-quarter combat. To also give him a trap/setplay mechanic would make him very dangerous (even unbalanced?) IMO. To avoid making that "Energy Ball" usage too easy, it should be combinend with a command motion.
I would even use a HCF + button for that move.

Variation reason
Just as a example. If you would use a HCF + P command for the "Enery Ball", you could create alternative versions of the "Energy Ball". HCF + LP would be a energy mine in close proximity to Ryu, HCF + MP could be half screen, HCF + HP almost on the other side of the screen. With EX versions you could even capture the distances in between those 3 "Energy Balls". HCF + LP+MP could be in between the LP and the MP version, HCF + LP+HP in between the MP and HP and HCF + MP+HP even past the HP version of the energy mine.

Skill reason
This energy trap shouldn't be easy to use with a just simple button press. To use it properly, you should have skill and execution. IMO it's a strong addition to his gameplay.

Like I said, that is just my opinion.
I like that trap mechanic. Just lacking sounds...
