It dawned on me that I released no stand alone content at all this year and that is just not ok with me. So I decided to embark on a challenge to see if it was possible for me to make something from a game rarely done as accurately as possible. The answer? Yes...well about 95% so. There are some liberties to make things less unfair as the game gives you options that mugen normally does not. That game was Rumble Fish 2, one of my favorite fighting games that you should absolutely check out if your computer was made in the last 9 years. A very simple yet extremely deep game that is very easy to pick up and play. I learned it in about 15 minutes several years ago and by the end of that night I was going back and forth with some killers at the cab.

But enough about me, the real question is "why mr karate?". Well I saw the sprites released a while ago and the joke was that I would make him FEXL/SFV style. But that joke stopped being funny about 7 months before I started this character....last month. Exactly 29 days later here we are. The harder part was ripping the resources from this game as I was able to get a lot but not all. I also had a lot of help from various people who are credited in his folder. Last but absolutely not least, the RF2 discord had access to incredibly accurate material that I was able to mirror the system with.

That being said here's some FAQs

Q: Why is his damage so low on long combos?
A: This game only cares about the first 12 hits, the closer you get to that number the worse the scaling gets. Supers ignore this rule partially.

Q: Sometimes I attack before the standing dodge animation completes, is that normal?
A: You can cancel his standing dodge exactly 8 frames in, it will not extend the i-frames to the next attack so be careful with it's usage!

Q: can I move his guage somewhere else on screen?
A: You sure can, the gauge.st file can be opened with notepad, it'll explain what to do there.

Q: Sometimes HCB K(Hien Senpukyaku) allows the opponent to recover after the second hit, why?
A: Some specials have different behaviors on grounded opponents vs opponents in the air. You can force consistent behavior by using an Impact blow.

Q: I noticed that sometimes I can't tech after getting juggled by Mr. Karate, why?
A: If you're too close to the floor you cannot tech. Rules of the source game. The AI is very aware of that.

He's been updated with a few important fixes. Should help with how he feels overall to play with.

I've made one final update to him fixing a couple input issues. In addition I've added inktrebechet's friction cancel system in to help bridge the gap of the source game and this engine.
