Sorry about bumping but the tutorial said that because two of the values started with "00E" he picked those. What does having "00E" have to do with the X axis? Is it the value that has the least number of numerical sequential duplicates?

Because I'm trying to mess around with Destruction Desire and I keep getting like 2XXXXXX values. How would you find the X values of P1 in a game that is not an emulator and does not have a timer?

I downloaded Artmoney to see if I could mess around with Destruction Desire but I'm having a hard time. I'm using the "Interactive Artmoney Tutorial...YAY!!" (lol) from Tips & Tutorials, but I'm having a hard time.

This game has no timer, like Melty Blood.

I select DD as the process. I search for Unknown values with custom integers of 2. I try to move my character to the right ONLY A LITTLE, pause the game, and then filter for when unknown values were increased, but I get...283386 values. There's no way I can find the X axis for this game in all of those values. Is there an easier way to do this?

If anyone wants to experiment with this (AWESOME) game, you can download it here:

Oh crap. Haven't checked on this thread in a while. Well, it's a bit complicated, and I don't have much time right now, but I'll try to sum up the steps as easily as possible.

Programs Used

- Fighter Factory
- Irfanview
- MS Paint

1. I saved the background and foreground sprites of the select screen as PCX's.

2. I made the files .BMP, for clear colors.

3. I traced over them in paint, giving them more lines and boxes. This took a lot of precision. I split each individual box into 4 smaller boxes. Any wrong line will mess it up.  You also have to use the eyedropper tool to make the colors exactly the same. Luckily for me, the CvS2 screenpack doesn't have too many colors.

3. I saved the new files as BMP, then converted them to PCX using Irfanview.

4. Replaced the old sprites with the new sprites in the SFF.

5. Made the little red select boxes (the ones that let you know where your cursor is) smaller, small enough to JUST wrap around the small boxes.

6. Changed the cell size and portrait scale smaller in the system.def until they just fit the small portraits.

7. Edited the select.def to have more characters per line.

I may go into further detail tomorrow, as I don't have much time right now.

Hell yes. I was playing MvC2 a couple days ago with my cousins and their friends and I was beating them all.

DREAMTEAM

B.B Hood
Akuma or Ironman
Morrigan or Cable

Anyway, my cousin picks his usual Ryu, Morrigan, and Sakura team, and I swear to god!! This is all he did and beat me with Sakura.

Super Jump -> Strong Kick -> SHOOUUUUKEN -> Strong Kick -> Super Jump -> Strong Kick -> SHOUUUUKEN -> Triple Hyper

Repeat the process.

I swear to god for some reason I could not touch him.

NOTE: I'm 13 and my cousin's + friends are 21+

Well, sometimes it can get more complicated than that. See my edited version of Drachir's 60 slot screenpack.

It involves a lot of spaces and editing of the system.def and select.def

Post if you want to find out how I did it.

How To Get The Eve Lifebar From The Eve Screenpack

Ok, so I've been looking for the CVS2 (Capcom vs. Snk 2) lifebars for ages. I noticed though, that the EVE (Everything vs. Everything) Mugen lifebar is just an edited version of the CVS2 lifebars. I especially like this lifebar because of its special meters on the bottom of the screen. Makes the bottom of the screen look less 'naked', if you will. ::)

Anyways, to the point. I said to myself, "Hey, if the EVE screenpack comes WITH the lifebar, the lifebar must have a .def file somewhere, and the .def will tell me what files are associated with the lifebar!" So thats exactly what I did, and I found the files, and simply copied them to my mugen folder and such, and I'm able to happily have my CVS2 screenpack with my matching EVE lifebars!  ^_^

(Of course, you must have Mugen in order to do this.  :P )

Winzip or WinRAR (First link) are recommended. I will go over how to extract the files using WinRAR.

Here's how to do this:

1. Go to www.mugen-infantry.net and download the EVE screen pack, preferably to your desktop, where it's easy to find.

Go to: Downloads -> Add-ons -> EVE Battle aka Everything Vs Everything -> Download File

2. Go to where you downloaded the file. It should be in a compressed folder. Right click it, then go down to "Extract Here". There should now be a new folder with an identical name in the location that the compressed folder was. You may now delete the compressed folder if you wish.

3. Open your new folder. In it should be 3 folders, and an internet shortcut. The "data" and "font" folders are only folders you are concerned about. First, open the data folder. Then, look for the "fight.def" file. Open it with notepad.

4. In the fight.def file, the first thing in it besides the title and stuff should be a section called "[Files]". In this section, it lists all the needed files that the lifebar uses. This will be the only section you will need. All of these files should be in the data or the font folder. The fight.def will tell you where they are. It should look like this:

[Files]
sff = fight.SFF
snd = fight.SND
font1 = FONT\POWER4CVS2(Groove).FNT
font3 = FONT\POWER3CVS2(Groove).FNT
font4 = FONT\ROUNDCVS2(Groove).FNT
font7 = FONT\DJVTIMER.FNT
font8 = FONT\sf3ts_name.fnt
;font8 = FONT\CHAR2CVS2(Groove).FNT
;font8 = font/fighterskof2kname.fnt (YOU DO NOT NEED THIS ONE)
font9 = FONT\DJVCOMBO.FNT
fightfx.sff = FIGHTFX.SFF
fightfx.air = FIGHTFX.AIR
common.snd = COMMON.SND

5. Now, open up your main MUGEN folder. Go to ITS data folder, and make a new folder. Name it anything you want, but something like "evelife" or "eve_life" or something like that is good because this will be the folder for your lifebar's files.

6. Go back to your EVE's data folder, and copy the files that I listed above. Now paste them into your newly made folder in your main Mugen's data folder (confusing, huh? It's EVE Battle -> data/font -> Copy needed files -> Mugen folder -> data -> Your new folder -> Paste. You can delete the "EVE Battle" folder now ONLY if you're confident that you've done this right.)

7. Now go to your system.def file for your current screenpack, and open it with notepad. Scroll down a little bit until you get to something that says "fight =". You can also just go to Edit -> Find and search for "fight". It should be the SECOND result.

8. Where it says (folderlocation)/fight.def, type in the name of the folder where you saved your copied files. Save the file now.

9. a. Go to your Mugen folder -> data -> mugen.cgf and open that with notepad. Scroll down until you see a section that says [Video Win]. Scroll down until you see this:

;Set this parameter to use a resolution-doubling filter. You will
 ;need a fast machine to use these filters. You will need to increase
 ;the screen resolution to at least 640x480 for these modes.
 ;0 - off
 ;1 - diagonal edge detection
 ;2 - bilinear filtering
 ;3 - horizontal scanlines
DoubleRes =

9. b. After DoubleRes =, make sure 0 is the number, if not, change it and save the file.

10. Open Mugen. Go to any mode.

Congratulations, you're finally done! If you did this correctly, your lifebars should be functional with any screenpack you want!

I hope you're happy with your new lifebars, and if you are/are not happy with them, any feedback, issues, or comments (...except flames...  >:( ) are welcome!

 ;)
