Thanks man! After seeing what they did with Street Fighter X Megaman, I wanna make even more 8-bit stuff. This is actually kinda fun! :)

It's pretty addicting. Lol. Your sprites are looking great though. Good job.

I intend on releasing a beta for Alex to allow people to test him out to see if they like the gameplay of the character. NOTE: The character may or may not be subject to having additional moves added to him.

Are there any specific people we should be sticking to suggesting?  Game characters, movie characters, or just anything random that comes to mind?

If it's the last, how about......Jade of Beyond Good & Evil?  Or Faith of Mirror's Edge?
No specifics really, anyone is good. I just need a picture.

You could put some code in the common file that responds to the StageVar controller (if you get to using 1.0) that puts certain weapons in certain stages?  Or you could just make a random weapon or two show up at the beginning of some rounds using the same method (in winmugen)...

Sounds like a plan sir. I appreciate it. I've been away for a while so, I need to study up on coding again. Sprite wise, I'm fine.

Yes, I'm currently reworking the moveset for Alex. He'll have all of the classic River City moves that you start out with plus a little more. Weapon wise, I'll have to figure out the code for that. Right now, only one of the characters has a weapon and that is Firen.

Hey guys, I just wanted to start back into working on a project that I've been working on for a long while. I've been on a MUGEN hiatus since about the end of March and I really want to get back into it now that I have some more free time.

I'm using WinMugen because I haven't been able to grasp 1.0 as well as I have been able to grasp WinMugen. I'll try and convert it when I learn the correct way to.

Here's what I have so far:

-I've written up the concept for the entire game.

STORY:
River City Ransom Redux is set a year after the original River City Ransom. Simon/Slick hadn't been seen for a while since his expulsion from River City High. Life is quiet and most of the gangs have disbanded. There are small pools of gangs still around but, they don't function in full force. Alex/Kunio is the leader of his own gang which is considered the largest in crosstown. After the events in the original game, Alex/Kunio is now dating Roxy and Ryan and Cyndi are still together. Ryan has taken a vow to stop fighting because he feels no use in it.

One peaceful weekend, an immense dark energy was spotted atop the roof of River City High. In this dark energy appears Simon/Slick. Simon/Slick's time away from River City to create a plan to completely harness this dark energy and achieve its full power. The dark energy is an ancient, evil energy named "The Pulse." In order for Slick/Simon to achieve the full power of "The Pulse," he must sacrifice a "beautiful maiden." He then kidnaps Cyndi and just about everything gets REAL. If Slick is able to harness the energy "The Pulse," he will be able to control the gangs, the cities and most likely the country.

CHARACTERS:

Alex/Kunio
Once again the hero of the story, Alex/Kunio must end Slick/Simon's evil tyranny and bring peace back to River City.

Fighting Style: Street Brawler


Shen
Shen went to school with Todd in Washington High School. Todd and Shen were really good friends during those events and after Todd was thoroughly embarrassed by Crash yet again, Shen had lost all contact and communication with him. Shen's father decided to transfer to Crosstown as the cities chief of police. When Simon/Slick unleashed "The Pulse" on the River City high school roof, Shen's father was called in to investigate and he never returned. As a result, Shen has decided to find his father.

Fighting Style: Muay Thai


Travis
Travis is an outcast in Crosstown (He ended up moving to the city after the River City High School Incident). He ends up befriending Alex and Ryan and becomes a loyal member in Alex's gang. When Simon/Slick releases "The Pulse," Travis is put in Ryan's place to help Alex defeat Slick/Simon and save Cyndi.

Fighting Style: Shoto


Firen
Firen is sent to River City to investigate the energy disturbance in the atmosphere due to "The Pulse." He is a part of a secret government squadron named "H.A.E.E" or "Humans Against Evil Energies," (Placeholder). Him and his group takes base in the abandoned factory outside of town.

Fighting Style: Gunplay and Martial Arts


Slick/Simon
The main villain of the entire game. Fueled by anger and hate towards Alex and Ryan, Simon/Slick found "The Pulse" and uses it to destroy the things they hold dear.

A - Light Kick
B - Heavy Kick

As you can see, I have very little progress on this game done. I'm about 80% done with Alex and I'll be working on Slick next. All of my ideas on the movelists, stages, etc. are written down in a notebook and I'll be using those as concepts. If there are any suggestions, please tell me. I'm open for anything.

So... Uh.... I've been taking time from MUGEN to work on music. I do a lot of my own production, I write my own lyrics and I mix my own songs. This recent EP that I dropped is solely based on the Chrono Trigger series. Well, the samples for the beats are. I hit a couple serious points in this one, lyric wise, and I have to say that this is probably one of my best mixtapes that I have done. It's only 5 songs.

If you enjoy Video Game music with Hip-Hop/Rap tendencies then you'll enjoy this. If not.... Well dang. You might as well check it out.
