Re: Scarecrow Beta by AxKeeper & Redz released

i wish some of you would stop characterizing CVG from things loosely connected. i mean how would you feel if i trash all of mfg based off of something that was released here that was highly incomplete?

the only connection to cvg that char has is that it was released there and redz, a team member donated a few sprites (and not very many)

axkeeper did most of the sprites and all of the coding and released it in that capacity due to tiring of work on the char and wanting to pass it along. there was no communication regarding release. alex will re-code and get some additional sprite work by redz or whoever else to improve. had we preferred axkeeper to donate to alex directly for that work w/o a public release? of course, but that was not an option.

Please upload to another site that works. Preferably one that's not located in the US.
ToP was a great game, I definitely want to check this character out.

Edit : Nevermind, looks like you were updating it when I tried to download. Works now.

thanx for freaking me out for a moment about my preferred online backup site :P

thats a pretty weird thing to do. i mean it was their most popular section and probably accounted for a good bit of traffic. and now closed off to a select few based on post count? oh well.

i'm curious to know what the post count limit is (not that i'll even attempt to reach it, just wonder)

There's two principal ways to run this kind of contest:

a) running a poll
b) having judges

can merge the two w/ 2 diff concepts of the merge.

1) take nominations, a group of judges decide whats legitimate, vote on by everyone
2) take nominations, vote on by everyone, a select # voted highest (for example 5) are then put before a judging committee to determine whats the best

assuming you all'd wanna alter things up (which i doubt you do, but i thought i'd throw out an idea i had based off val's comment)

thanx for the list gill. sephiroth the only one i really know about.

i'm a little lacking in FF knowledge. can someone plz tell me more about who jecht is in that franchise

Jecht is the father of Tidus and one of the antagonists of FFX.
But you don't really see him fight on his own until the Dissidia games, which this is based off of, if you didn't know.

great info there, thank you. and yea, never played dissidia or know much about it.

Wait, I just got an idea.

Since April's usually the month with releases like this, I say we set aside one exception for April and have two separate CotMs. One for regular characters, one for actual joke characters. That way, everyone's happy

beyond perfect idea, +100

I just don't understand this immature attitude of having to go around attacking people and beating your chest, I see tons of people on this forum doing this. Like they get off on being a deusche. I just don't understand it. Maybe because i believe in treating people the way I'd like to be treated myself.... Does believing in the golden rule make people fags or weak or dorky or something?....... If being a loud, arrogant, hypocritical asshole makes ppl "cool" then I don't wanna be "cool" anyways.

plz notice that this is not a cvg creation. it is in the hosted section and Team CVG was not involved in the creation at all. he wanted to be hosted, and we have the ability to allow whoever that asks to upload, to do that.

the only connection to CVG is that he released it there and asked to be hosted. so plz do not cast disparaging remarks at our team for something not connected officially to Team CVG

very cool thing you got here.

wondering if a couple of the following could be implemented in the future:
- ability for the player to choose who to pick from at certain points
- not a set enemy path. what i mean is program randomly selects from a pool of who will fight
- change match type. ie, you fight a round in 1v1. then next a team match, then 1v3, etc.

bumping because i think he might have missed my question
