Re: Apple faces $5 million class action suit over iOS9 running on iPhone 4S

I have an iPhone 4S, and am perfectly happy with it. Mind you, I'm still on iOS 7.1.

Anyway, it's not a case of iOS is better or worse than Android. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Some people prefer iOS because they find it much more stable and with better performance, others prefer Android because of the configuration options and more freedom to modify everything. It's the Apple fans who are to blame, with their attitude, more than the quality of the product itself (well, and you can blame Apple too for their practices, but the product itself is fine).

I believe Apple doesn't plan obsolescence more than the other companies. Of course your phone is going to be slower if you can updating everything automatically over night. Are you going to complain if your 10 years old computer which worked perfectly fine under Windows XP suddenly becomes slow when you upgrade to Windows 10 ?

However, while it's obvious the people complaining with the class suit action should have known better, this is still the USA, and therefore Apple should have known better than to make a phone compatible with a new OS which could lower its performance. The way Apple presented it, it's true that the user can feel lied to ("I have an iPhone 4S > hey iOS9 is compatible > Apple says it offers better performance and security > let me download it ! > WTF is this shit !?"), and that's something American public and American law doesn't like at all (see Wolkswagen case for a similar example).

Create the topic in the WIP section of the forum (not of HDBZ), along with a presentation of your project.
People are asking you not to post your project here because this topic is about the release of "HDBZ Majin Build", not side projects from other people not affiliated with the HDBZ team.

To whom it may concern,

There have been several recent statements, made by certain persons, casting aspersions onto my character and the quality of my coding. These statements are completely and utterly false. The Super Nova finisher in Freeza is not at all bugged: the motion and positioning of the Super Nova was previously very buggy, seemingly almost randomly determined, and followed no set guidelines. I corrected this to its current movement and position, which was based on the bugged, unpredictable version; a rough estimate of where the Super Nova was originally intended to end up. The original version of the Super Nova almost always "swallowed" the soldiers and P2 before they take damage, so I did the same with my fixed version. Further, the soldiers disappear in exactly the same way the first blue soldier who gets vaporized by the Super Nova does.

If the Super Nova did not end up in the location it was originally intended to be, or had other unintentional or unwanted behavior, it was through no fault of my own.
Sorry if my post appeared as a critic of your coding faculties or as a devaluation of your work. This was clearly not my intent.

I indeed tested too quickly Lv3 finisher the first time, and added another post since then.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
When I quit coding Freeza, Lv3 finisher was very buggy. I was told via feedback that many things had to be changed throughout the whole move. I was surprised to see that most of it was identical (save for the ending, obviously), which lead to my initial post after a 2 minutes test (my fault). Anyway, yeah, the super nova positioning was buggy when playing as P2, or when P1 was too close to the border of the stage. The correct position was when playing as P1 in the middle of the stage, which lead to the blue soldier burning as he was beginning to be swallowed by the Super Nova. Anyway, not a big deal.
However, the other soldiers don't fade to black via palFX before getting vaporized by the Super Nova. They simply disappear all of a sudden.

Sorry you took my post this way. Thank you for finishing the move, as well as adding all the other stuff. I can understand Finisher 3 was a nightmare to code (between the cinematics and what you could probably call clumsy coding...).

Also, just re-tested Freeza. Indeed, everything works as intended, even though Finisher 3 is not perfect. But yeah, it's a nightmare to code. Poor JM lol ! ;D
Great job on the special winpose as well as finisher 1 & 2. They're much better !

Balthy darling, nice to see you ! :)
Well, I'll try Freeza later on a non-HDBZ stage, to see if it gives the same visual bugs.

How do I get the evil aura winpose ? Are there special conditions to meet ?

Only did a very quick test, so I'm not really sure of everything, but for Freeza :
- Finisher 3 seems quite buggy in HDBZ stages. The final supernova is in the middle of the screen from the beginning, while it should be on the side, before moving forward a little. Therefore, the blue soldier gets swallowed by it before getting his burnt state, and same goes for P2.
- The white screen flashing at the end is slightly too short and we can see the soldiers disappear strangely.
- I can't find the winpose that appears in the video. :(
- Readme hasn't been updated : "Changes" section in WIP is empty. There's no explanation about what button to press to get what winpose.

Are you sure you uploaded the right version :???: This pretty much looks like the beta version I last sent you, but that wasn't finished at all.

Downloading NOA !!! :haw:

Nice to see this build finally released, it's been so long in the works lol.
Also nice to see (from the video) that Freeza got the treatment he deserved, can't wait to testhim. :)

Also, will you release separate versions for each char (except the bosses maybe) in a few days ?

And this roll kick looks really nice. And also less disturbing than when Iced showed me Buu's head coming out from his ass ! :D

Real life and time was my problem. Got a lot of job to do, and I had 2 weeks to do a one month job.
I'll hopefully try to squeeze a few hours in the next few days for Freeza.

How can one call it a "sprite conversion" if it's just a palette ? Just use your "CVS-ish" palette on a KOF char and play with it if you want, but do go calling that a CVS character.
