I'M NOT DEAD!

Just been distracted with other stuff. I've come back to Ryu and I wanna focus on getting all his Special Moves done, including their Denjin variants, before I put up another video. It won't include all the effects I wanna put in - those will be low priority compared to actually getting the functionality right. But it'll be a good idea of what to expect in actual gameplay.

This sounds really cool and I do respect that you want to keep it true to the original. One thing I would strongly suggest (because you mentioned adding some more characters in the future) is to include a Resident Evil character since Resident Evil is one of Capcom's biggest franchises (if not the top 1 franchise). If you are making a game where it has Capcom all-stars, I think having a Resident Evil character would be appropriate. Not having a Resident Evil character in a Capcom all-stars game is like having a Super Smash Bros game without a Legend of Zelda character.

Anyway, like I said, it is a cool idea and I'm looking forward to updates on this project.

Thanks for the kind words, man. I've been on and off this thing due to real life health issues and also bouts of anhedonia making me lose motivation. Hopefully I'll be able to have something to show soon.

Just a quick video to demonstrate what the Denjin system does for Ryu. I'm on the fence about turning some of this into EX moves - the original game didn't have them, but I feel like a game in this mold not having EX moves of some description might be a little weird. After all, part of this project is to essentially "modernize" the original concept in a few ways - if not in roster, then certainly in mechanics.

And with that, time to disappear for two months again! :D

I TOLD YOU ALL THIS WAS A SLOW WIP

So... I've got no excuse for this. I could blame it on a lot of stuff - other interests cropping up, anhedonia etc. - but the truth was, I've been deliberately procastinating on this. I've been spending too much time tweaking small things on Ryu like visuals and animation timing, i.e. shit that doesn't matter, because subconsciously I didn't want to ever stop working on it until it was perfect. But there comes a time when you need to grit your teeth and say "just get it out the door already. you big twonk".

I've got a beta version of Ryu ready for testing. It's not complete, since there's still a fair amount I want to implement/change, but I've procrastinated on this enough and want to get a second opinion on it before I start working on the really tricky stuff, like the Critical Finish move etc. If anyone's interested, just send me a PM and I'll share the link with you.

I think you're better off putting a link in the release section and specify it's a beta and you want feedback. Most people won't even notice this beta is available if they have to ask for it.

Steel Komodo

You're totally right. Let me see what I can do.

UPDATE: The first beta is out. Go try it here: https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/capcom-fighting-allstars-ryu-public-beta-v0-8-201000.new.html#new

UPDATE (15/05/2026): After a long absence, I'm starting work on Chun-Li.

I'll be basing this one on Jmorphman's Chun, with elements from SeanAltly's Capcom vs. The World version as well. The move list for Chun in the original Capcom Fighting All Stars was pretty sauceless, so I'm going to do my best to try and add some sauce to it by giving back moves she didn't have originally and adding some extras here and there.

Tentative move list below (subject to change).

Command Normals
Chudanrenshu: LK, LK (during far LK)
Kakukyakuraku: DF + HK
Yosokyaku: D + HP (air, up to 3 times)

Special Moves
Kikouken: QCF + P
Hyakuretskyau QCF + K
- Lightning Barrage: K (follow-up)
Tenshoukyaku: F, D, DF + K
Spinning Bird Kick: D, U + K
Sen'enshu OR Hazanshu: QCB : K

Super Moves
Level 1 - Kikoshou: QCFx2 + P
Level 2 - Hazan Tenshoukyaku: QCFx2 + K
Level 3 - Hoyokusen (SFV version): QCFx2 + P

Dramatic Finish
Shichisei Ranka : QCB, HCF + HP+HK
- You must have won the previous round
- Your opponent must be on 25% health or less.

UPDATE: Still not dead. Lost my volunteering job at the charity shop because we got shut down, so I'll have more free time to work on this. Progress is coming along slowly, but I don't want to show anything just yet - there's still a lot of polish that needs doing.

Just wanted to see which one of these attacks would be best on Chun here. I know she's had both of these attacks, but I don't know which one of them is considered "right" for Chun, and I worry there might be arguments about wherever one or the other is preferable.
