Heya. I'm relatively new to MUGEN and right now I'm attempting character creation. It's going well but I'm just wondering, how would I go about coding a temporary transformation as a special move (freezing everything else while transforming animation plays)? Also, if you could also tell me, what's a code that will make the screen shake on a certain frame of my character's introduction animation (when he first comes into battle)?

MUGENforever

You can use EnvShake  to make the screen shake.

FlashfireEX

Well I don't know what that is but I'll look it up. =3

FlashfireEX

So does anyone know how to do the transformation thingy?

MUGENforever

I think you're looking for superpause. It says its used for hypers while the player powers up or in your case transforms.

Liquid Jake

Superpause should work.  It's in the docs...

FlashfireEX

Helpful! But how do I make it so all his sprites change, his attacks change and he's only transformed for a certain amount of time?

Average Mugen Guild Poster

I'm not exactly the most skilled coder but I believe you need to use a variable. :P

Liquid Jake

All his sprites change?  ChangeAnim?

You can't change to another SFF, if that's what you mean...

FlashfireEX

No, I just want to replace his sprites temporarily while he's transformed. They'll still be in his sff.

FlashfireEX

Also, I still have no idea where or how to use EnvShake.

From the doc files:

anim = anim_no (int)
Specifies the animation number (from fightfx.air) to play during the SuperPause. The default is 30, which is a charging effect. If anim is -1, no animation will be played. If you prepend "S" to anim_no, the animation used will be from the player's AIR file. For example, anim = S10.

EnvShake works like all the other sctrls. Give it a state, give it envShake as the type, create a trigger for it probably using anim = ### then use the rest of the things listed in the docs to get it how you like it.

FlashfireEX

Agh... can someone please give me some full examples? I don't understand where or how these will be used. X_X

Look at Kung Fu man's cns. He has envshakes used. Try yourself, and when all else fails, that's when you ask for help. You shouldn't ask for all out codes because you never learn correctly. To learn this correctly, you have to do it the hard way.

Thanks but... how would I add EnvShake to my intro (state?)? Where would I put it?

Average Mugen Guild Poster

envshake.time = xxx           ;Parameters for shaking the screen on hit
envshake.ampl = xxx
envshake.freq = xxx

Insert those in the intro state. Replace xxx with what ever numbers you want. :)

^ He doesn't need that, he can look at the documentation for that.

You go to the intro state that you want the envshake in, you place the envshake in that state, and you trigger it how you want.

One doesn't need to be told every step, most of it can be figured out by oneself.

FlashfireEX

Well I'm not exactly the best coder in the world. ^^'
