Hi all, I would like to ask you a question, you know you recommend a good joystick for fighting games? who is not an arcade stick, I've already tried and it did not look good. A friend of mine recommended the Hori Pad EX Turbo 2 as it seems?

Try a Madcatz Street Fighter pad.

is that for pc and wireless ?

since my ps adaptor broke I ahve been searching for a 6 button controller (could be joy or game pad, does not matter) that is wireless and works on pc.

PS3 Dualshock 3 Controller using the MotioninJoy driver. (PC)

^ Can be a pain in the ass to setup, and if you lose internet connection you can't use your analog sticks or the entire controller loses functionality.

That one isn't, but Madcatz does sell wireless PC controllers.

Street fighting is all about analysis, prediction, and reaction. That's it.

I see, I will search a  bit.

I have that. S'a piece of shit.

I heard the Round 2 pads are better built but I doubt it. SFxT pad is a big step up though, since it's less... fat, and the dpad doesn't stick. While the buttons may be ass, it's still your best bet as far as 360 pads go I guess.

Hori Pad EX 2 is... well, it should be fine but with where the dpad is place, it's pretty tricky. Unless you use analog, which is fine. Buttons are not of my taste but they work.

Luis Alejandro

whats so special about 6 buttons on top?

Keku

Most buttons on top, it's like playing stick but on pad.

Sega Saturn pad is the best example of this, since it's the best pad for 2D fighters period. Many companies try to rip it off since it's seriously that good.
S'why we had those shitty NUBY pads and the MadCatz fightpad format.

Really?  That's what I use and I never knew about that.  I've had some serious problems with Motioninjoy though so I would definitely agree that if you can find something better don't bother with it.

Keku

It's a widely shared opinion. Also got massive praise for shmups but the NeoGeo CD pad and its official PS3 and PS3 adaptations are also noteworthy of that.

Luis Alejandro

ive never had a problem with motion joy so im guessing that tempest probably installed it years ago when setting it up was stupid hard

If you have your pad set up before your connection goes off then it'll still work just fine for Offline play.

I was still able to swap my PS3 Pad for SSF4AE Play and MUGEN play just fine while it was Offline.

Keku

MotionInJoy actually has a nasty problem I noticed. Depending on your controller's condition and its (wired) connection quality (decreased with use I figure), it can cause your PC to BSOD. It's supposedly a common problem, though it only happened once in a blue moon for me, usually during crucial MPA's in PSO2.

I couldn't believe at first until I saw the message was directly tied to the drivers themselves in the logs.

That shit led me to just use my old PS2-to-PC adapter and a "new" used pad from the local pawn shop.

The analogs won't work in that case. Same thing happened when I lost connection whilst playing FFX on an emulator.

My Analogs work just fine even when my connection is off, did you set your pad to act like a 360 controller?

S.D.

Pads with 6 face buttons are so impractical your thumb can only move so fast between light and heavy buttons... Then again some weird people use their middle and index fingers as to emulate an arcade stick, so...

Zemilia

It happens dude.

(Then again, I have a friend who uses a PS2 controller facedown, while trying to emulate an arcade stick. Then again, he does that for fighting games sometimes)

Keku

I do that exclusively for KOF on PS pad, though it made my fingers sore as shit when it came to doing BC or Shen SDM, though less sore than on thumb.

You never tried using your index, middle and ring fingers on those pads? I learned to use those when I started playing Gen in SFIV after I learned how to piano for the first time. Ever since I kinda dismissed my thumb unless I was using someone like Gief or Seth. Iunno how that works but it just does. Also depends on which pad you use. Saturn pad's buttons are much smaller than the SFIV fightpad's and the grip is tons thinner. NG Pad 2 and 3 also have this characteristic and moving your thumb around is pretty easy. :D

EDIT: The ASCII CVS pads also have that quality but the dpad is so bad... terrible diag recognition and flimsy plastic.
