Hey people. I finished cleaning up uncroped portraits of CvS2 characters to be used for a HiRes select screen.

I still need help getting the portraits of Warusaki3's/other's extra characters. I have no idea where some of them came from.

Hayato (Though he turned out a bit small)
Ingrid (resized to match the average CvS2 girl's head size [she's still a fathead though])
Juni (Have it, hope to get something closer to CvS2 style)
Jill
Karin (Hope to get something closer to CvS2 style)
Lilith (Thanks unbeknowNst)
Nightmare Geese
Violent Ken (Have it, hope to get something closer to CvS2 style)
Kusanagi (Scaled up to fit the size of the other characters)
Shin Vega (No crappy CvSPro pics)
------------
Zero (Thanks JZ)
Felicia
Hinata Wakaba (Have it, hope to get something closer to CvS2 style)
Guy (from Final Fight One)
Nash/Charlie (Can't find a decent sized one from Cannon Spike that's not covered with other characters)
------------
Yang (I know he isn't coming out any time soon, but it'd still be nice)

Edit: Example of the difference in quality compared to the 120x140 and the original game http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r306/Drex015/CvS2_Comparison-1.jpg.

Try this link http://www.sfgalleries.net/ Alot of portraits from SF, CVS, SNK ect. Both High and Low Res I belive. Maybe you can find what you're looking for there?

Believe me when I say I turned that place inside out looking for material. I've also done the same at fightersgeneration and a number of other galleries got pretty frustrated with a few specific characters (Waursaki's Lilith, Rolento's Guy from Final Fight One, a decent sized uncovered Nash/Charlie from Cannon Spike).

Skank88

Try fightersgeneration.com!

Search a character and you can find cvs2 hi-res portraits!

Jesuszilla

Fighter's Generation steals sprites and edits, and stealing is bad mmm'kay. Also did you not read what he just said?

use the SFA3 MAX version of the portraits for the alpha characters, they have a better look than the old ALPHA 3 portraits.

about kusanagi, u should use the CVS1 version of the portrait and edie it by yourself to make it look better than just a re-scalling (look bad, trust me :P)

about lilith, dunno, I can't get that fucking portrait, not even in low res atleast >_<, and I really need it for my project >_>

for shin vega and violent ken use their SFEX3 portraits (one of the 2 versions), and edit it by yourself, they were ok for me atleast... (but they aren't "full body" pics)

try the kawaii artzone its a treasure trove of artwork...www.kawaiidream.net

He didn't turn out too bad. I'm a little worried about Iori's flame. It looks a little "specky", but I don't want to crop out all of the light colors or it will just look like paint. [opinions?]

By the way, I've devoted all of today's free time to getting portraits cleaned (I'm still taking about 20 mins. to do each in paint). Since the weekdays are back I'll be away more, but I'll still try to do at least 2 a day until they're done.

;)

I don't follow... Those can't be directly used in mugen because they have anti-aliasing all around the edges.

That's what Photoshop is for- have fun.

As for Zero, I got that portrait from http://www.atomic-fire.com

Skip it. I have found a much better way to do it. Thanks JZ, what I said about the background eraser is true (at least the alias option isn't as obvious as it is on magic eraser), but what you said helped me find a better way in Paint Shop.

Old post:
Spoiler (click to show)
If you could turn off anti-aliasing using Photo Shop's background eraser this would be a lot easier. Only the regular and magic erasers have that option (same with Paint Shop -magic eraser).

Edit: Thanks for the Zero info.

Edit 2: If anyone wants to give me a tip on how to do this more efficiently feel free to give a suggestion. I have Photo Shop, Paint Shop, Gimp, and IrfanVeiw.

Jesuszilla

You can, and you can do that with the polygonal lasso tool as well.

For the eraser, set the mode or whatever to pencil.

Joosho

They look so good.

Though I think Kusanagi's Hair is a bit choppy. But hardly noticeable.
