I have been working on my second wip for a while after MvC Shadow. Its SF3 Shin Gouki. He is an edit of vyn's SF3 Evil Ryu. Of course, I asked for permission from him in order to do this. I got into making him because no one actually made a SF3 Shin Gouki using vyn/p.o.t.s's style hitsparks. I also want to make him because I wanted a challenging opponent for vyn's Evil Ryu and blood_riot_iori's Riot Ken. Here are a few pics of him right now:

Stance:

Duck:

Jump:

Run Foward:

Basic Attack:

Lie Down:

I currently sprite swapped most of the basic movements and attacks right now. Later, I will start coding some new moves for SF3 Shin Gouki.
I will still do detail and aesthetic feedback for the rest.

I believe Vyn's making a SF3-esque Shin Gouki (though no progress on this has bee shown as of late), but your Shin Gouki's looking pretty good. Keep it up!

Ohsky

vyn seems left on hold his sf3 shin gouki (the same as this one ) nearly 1& 1/2 years ago. Sad, because it was promising.

wuooa looks good very good spriting and well finally a decent sf3 Shin Akuma in progress wish you luck in the wip  :sugoi:

Thanks for all your comments. I was actually using sprites from GM's SF3 Gouki (I hope he doesn't mind).Though, I never heard vyn ever told me that he is making an SF3 Shin Gouki. How and when did you guys know about it? ???

april-may 2007, he was doing it amongst other projects that never saw the light still. He was using the same exact idea as you because he always used that style, Vyn is vyn.

i think that project is just abandoned, as some others of that date. He obviously have to be used the same base that you used, but the older one.

Wow, that's too bad for vyn. I started playing M.U.G.E.N way later than april-may 2007 so I didn't really know about it. I'm actually using the first version of the SF3 Evil Ryu as a base too.

back when i was still beta testing his evil ryu (first one) he was talking of his shin gouki, i still have the old very very very beta version with just the basics and a few kewl things in it heh, it was very promising, it's a shame he didn't get around to making it, maybe someday he'll take it back up again.

To the OP:  take your time on this, Riot Ken took me a year to finish, and he turned out pretty cool imo, so use vyn's base wisely, it can make kewl things happen  :sugoi:

You're better off making your own Shin Akuma from scratch, Vyn's Evil Ryu was made back in the day when Vyn wasn't very good, he wouldn't be a good character to make an edit based off of.

I don't see the point of a "SF3" Shin Akuma though, GM's Akuma has a Shin Akuma mode, and he's pretty close to the source game, so what are you going to do different besides having CvS2 hitsparks and fancy effects?

Rajaa Retired

[opinion]definitely don't use another creators character as a base, unless that character is Elecbytes KFM. You don't learn the things you should and it will become a bad habit. Additional will not develop your own style anytime soon in taking this process.[/opinion]

He said he wanted a worthy opponent for vyn's Evil Ryu and blood_riot_iori's Riot Ken, so I guess cheapness will be involved. As long as he plays quite differently from Vyn's Evil Ryu and have originality, he should be able to please people (not me, but you get my point).

@ Rajaa : Warner has been using KFM as a base for nearly all his chars, and he hasn't learned any piece of coding. :P

Remember, this is Shin Akuma. There's never any originality involved when it comes to him. :)

Vyn released a beta?

Ohsky

using the older version of ryu was an obvious mistake, you should have used his last one, much more polished and cheapness removed. o_O

I don't have any attention to even make a Shin Gouki out of scratch, that's means more work to be done. I called it "SF3 Shin Gouki" because he uses GM's SF3 Gouki sprites and I also don't want to confuse p.o.t.s's Shin Gouki with mine.

That's right. I have plans to change his moves a little bit and keep some of Evil Ryu's moves in him.

No. Didn't you read this line what I said in the first post?: "I also want to make him because I wanted a challenging opponent for vyn's Evil Ryu and blood_riot_iori's Riot Ken" If I did used the newer version of vyn's SF3 Evil Ryu, There would be a lot of more things I need to add/remove. blood_riot_iori used the first version of the character and I want to do it the same way how he made Riot Ken.
I will still do detail and aesthetic feedback for the rest.

I'm sorry, okay? Besides, here are three example tasks why I wouldn't use the newer version of vyn's SF3 Evil Ryu: I would basically have to remove the aura off on his different stance and code back the cns so he performs the original SF3 stance, remove the blue electric and the static sounds when does his Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, and change the hit sparks back to the old ones because their mostly used a lot (which makes these three example tasks most likely not me wanting to do). I also want my Shin Gouki to be cheap because so his AI would be strong enough to beat Evil Ryu and Riot Ken. I was also thinking of keeping Evil Ryu's Shinkuu Air Gou Hadoken for Shin Gouki that was actually been removed on the newer version of Evil Ryu.

Solid, since you want to make your char in the same way i made Riot Ken, if you want to, add me to msn or aim, and i can talk you through some of my ideas i used (i had a few for a shin gouki too back in the day lol), and maybe i can give you a few taht you can use :)

bloodriotiori@hotmail.com for msn

disterbed619 for aim

add me on either and we'll bs about w/e lol.
