This is a project that I've been very slowly working on the side on my spare time while dealing with real life and such.
I currently need someone who is good with sound effects that could work with me on this, because honestly I am no good with making sounds. I am also open to any suggestions.

Many people will notice that the lifebars are loosely based on the look of Mugen Luffy's "Nameless" Bars. Yes, and before anyone goes into a hissy fit, last time I checked his stuff is Open Source...So I will admit here that thanks to his inspirational work, I was able to conjure my own...and I just fall in love with these bars time and time again when I see how nice the portraits look in them. Thank you M.Luffy  :sugoi:

On with a few screenshots.

CONCEPT:

To Borrow Styles from the Street Fighter Alpha Series and combine them as a whole.

MAIN MENU

LIFEBARS

Will be available in 2 Flavors

MODERN LOOK

CLASSIC LOOK

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

HI RES ROUND ANIMS FROM SFA 3

Through code, the Lifebars will feature win icons as seen in the SFA series given the battle outcome condition, like for example; Grab WIN, Special Move WIN, LVL 3 Special WIN, Cheap WIN, etc.

I'll also be trying to implement a final stats display counter for the lifebars to be shown at the end of the winning round, as seen on Street Fighter Alpha 3:

That's it for now.

More screens will be posted later, since I'm away from home ATM.

If you're going to implement the vitality/time/score thing, I recommend you ask Syn about that, as it's going to require interactive coding and character patching.

Agreed. The |mmort@l SyN is the lead coder when ti comes to interactivity.

Yes, I have asked Syn many times about many things involving mugen code before, but he is a very busy guy as of late.
So hopefully, when I am ready to work on that part I will ask for his help.

Is it only me who prefers power bars at the bottom? Having them like that makes me think KOF

Sorry, but even though I'm a huge SFA fan, I've never really liked the whole bottom powerbars formula.

Also, there's many stages in mugen with very low zoffset, making the powerbars cover the character's feet, which I really dislike.

Still, many people DO like powerbars on the bottom...so, you're not the only one. ::)

I like to see the fight without lifebar design elements all over the character's toes, but I guess people could always edit things to their liking.

Dude, they will always look similar to Nameless LBs no matter what, because Nameless LBs composition is the BASE for my lifebars.
Although once I change the power bars and font, things might change...I did change the power bar a bit already, but I'm not happy with how it currently looks:

Nameless Life bars:                                         SFA PLATINUM Life Bars:

Also, instead of the Three little bars that display power level, I'll go back to displaying numbers like all SFAlpha Games do.

This is looking good man, I wish you well with this. :)  Is this going to have any sort of storyline or is this going to be done in a dream match format?

This is a quick image I have conjured up to demonstrate what the Full Game Optional select screen will look like:

I would also like to implement the Font I used on this mock up image for the same scrolling effect on the select creen, but it seems I have lost it :P

More news later.

Err...you DO know that you can't have your character select grid tilted towards the "ground" like that? That causes inconsistency in character portrait size.

Unless you plan on making it flip up or something, that can't work.

I know that. This will work because the Character portraits will already be on the grid for this specific Select Screen.
This Select Screen in the screenpack will be geared towards people making their own SFA series Full Game and as a result will have the characters already lined up on the grid. I will furthermore explain this concept as soon as I can finish the next mock up.

Also, this Select Screen will contain Pose animations between switching characters as seen on this video for a Final Fight mugen Project:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reuSKzxBu9s
It's done by tricking the cursor anims.

Another Select screen will be available for regular mugen rosters and it will be the default one on the screenpack. I plan on making one for 40 character slots and another for 600+ slots (For character whor...erm collectionists).

I hope this correctly exlains what I'm after here.

Oh, no it's ok, I know how the concept works.

You don't have to explain it.

It's ok, but I'm not explaining for you, Ishida...I know you know....but for everyone else who doesn't know or might be confused, like someone earlier.
