Even though you have slain those particularly annoying bandits, killed the goblin chief, ended a plague of giants, been attacked by demonic entities, rescued the king, discovered an assassin, took on evil incarnate bare-handed, found the lost amulet of light, stopped the demon invasion, been traumatized by an evil apparition, temporarily lost your sanity, siege'd the big bad kingdom, beaten the big bad, destroyed all evil, saved the planet, become ascended and are more or less a god...


Shopkeepers will still charge you full price for a drink.

Tomb Raider: Every ancient temple and cavern that no person has seen for hundreds of years is filled with Bears, wolves, dinosaurs, gorillas, Lions and alligators that will attack you on sight.

Version 3.0 coming... Um...  When I get to it.

Final Fantasy: First bosses who seem a little too easy to beat may in fact be the final boss.
In fact, all bosses of the 1st part of the game are much weaker than the basic enemies you'll fight at the end of the game. The village where the hero's from is always the place where the weakest beings of the Planet are.
