...Are you blind?

What now? I mean, I lengthened the arms, moved the left (artist's right) arm to a less awkward position, redid the hands and straightened out the shoulders to try to make the mid less linear. What else needs work? And that's not a statement of disbelief, I am actually asking you what I can do to make it not look like crap - and please don't answer with "start over" or "shift+delete", I want HELP, dammit, and I figure you and walt are the best people to go to on this forum for help on all things SNK.

Please?

The perspective on the body-parts are still fucked up, you never fixed that, after me+Walt+KOD told you.

Which ones exactly look like they're facing the wrong way - the legs? Feet? Head? Etc? That would make my day if you pointed that out - thanks.

I can see how the left arm and feet could be improved, and I'll see what I can do about the shoulders. Thank you.

His head should be slight more to the right (from the characters view).
The lower part of him (the belt and under) isn't facing the same way as the rest of the body.

I tried to get the pants and jacket better aligned, and slimmed down the pant legs in the process. Also, I redid the left foot again and adjusted the pants accordingly.

In your opinion, which looks better, that image, or this one?

I'll get to the head soon.

I only see a palette difference.  You need to either redo the torso or the legs, completely.

The second image had some work done on the arm to make it look less dislocated. Also, I'm going to try to make the legs work better, since I put too much work on it just to scrap part or all of it. Also, there was no palette change, it's probably your monitor - mine does the same thing, and it makes images closer to the top of the screen appear darker than those in middle or on the bottom. I'll see what I can do, as I just noticed a perspective error on the right leg.

I don't mean to be MORE discouraging than I should be, but don't you think half a year on a single sprite is enough to realize maybe this isn't a hobby for you to master? You need to study proportions and human anatomy, seriously.

You can't run if you haven't started to crawl.

I understand where you're coming from, but even if I find it difficult, that doesn't mean I should drop it and go for something easier. Besides that, the only reason why my sprites happen to have anatomy problems is because I usually get used to what I'm seeing - if someone sees it for the first time, they can pick out the errors that I can't really see all too well. Similarly, when I go back to working on sprites I haven't worked on in a while, I see the errors more clearly. I actually happen to have a very profound understanding of human anatomy and perspective (I am literally the ONLY good student in my Art class), and I've studied both subjects for years. It's kind of like someone who walks funny - that person may KNOW how to walk correctly, but he or she has walked strangely for so long that it seems normal and familiar to him or her (I am actually a great example of this, up until recently I had a very awkward gait, which has since been mostly corrected by my girlfriend). The point is, I can do it well, but only with an outside opinion, because otherwise I'll get used to what I've made regardless of it's quality.

Also, I haven't been exactly working on this for half of a year - I work on it in short bursts, so the actual amount of time I've spent on the sprite totals less than a week at most.

More importantly:

I happen to like spriting, and I want to improve my abilities with help from those more knowledgeable in translating knowledge of perspective, shading, and anatomy into a visible product.

try doing some small edits and then try to start making your own sprite and try using some references you'll get there  :sugoi:

I think in general it is already good, but maybe some little edit here and there could make it better, especially face

I'm not really KoF rendering specialist. but there are some edit I tried on it,

+ face, made it better looking
+ make the eye more intense.
+ stronger more defined shoulder
+ more metallic belt buckle
+ better hands anatomy
+ less wrinkly pants on the sprite right leg
+ 1pixel added to lower leg
+ more defined sneakers (right only)

@Navetsea: Wow, that does look good, though it has a side effect of making the sprite look more masculine than the original article (I'm not all too big and manly). I'll see if I can pull out one more final version, though I'll have to leave the jacket as-is since the jacket is more rounded than in your version. Also, your most recent sprite looks good, but has a "mix of old KOF and CPS-1" look to it.

EDIT: More complete:

Comes with all of the palettes I used for older versions of the sprites - the last one is color separation.
