2 netbook questions

Ive had my netbook for about a year now and Im having problems with it:

1. my battery now only gives me an hour at most of battery life. Is there a way to reduce swelling on the battery or will I need to get another one?

2. My keyboard keys are sticking/popping whenever I press them. Its mostly my down key, shift key, and space bar. Sometimes its keys I rarely use. Like my equal/+ key.

-facepalm- I wasnt sure how long my warranty actually lasted. Nevermind then. Thanks lol

Nevermind, Ive had it over a year now. I'll see what I can get done with hp though
