I'd love to see that third costume on Gant

I think the 2nd one looks the best of the two right now.

For Gant, go with the 1st attire. If you can, try to combime all 3 with color separation.

That sounds extremely difficult and tedious. I'm not even sure it could be done since all three outfits have different surface textures and sleeve lengths and such, stuff that wouldn't be flat and thus couldn't be pulled off with palette trickery.

For everyone else, I updated the first post again, this time with Ruckus' partner, Donny Brooks. I think he'd be a fun addition to the game, would make sense storyline wise, and would fill the big, slow, grappler void.

I see what you mean, lol. His second outfit is more suitable for combat.

While I like Gant so far, he could use something more; having him focus on explosives seems too generalized, being similar to Specialist in terms of firearms. Yet I think giving him a kinetic ability may be a good derivative of the concept -- not as in Fray's explosive punches nor grenades, but strong bursts of wind to shatter concrete. Since he's apparently not the rushdown type, this could be used to space and get him around, perhaps even to rebound projectiles as well. I feel this kind of power fits well for his demeanor.

Just tossing that out there. :3

2nd outfit for Grant as well

This. Oh and love the idea of adding Donny, another character like Ruckus would be fun, it's just really fun to play as him.

Whilst I'd love to say that all of them should feature, there's only so much one person can do!

I love the idea of Elle, because she's someone without powers.  However, Gant would be a far better addition as he's in the somewhat known already.

Gospel sounds like fun.  Regardless of her character, her powers could be fun.

Donny and Castle are musts for me... they just sound fun.

Castle looks badass. Reminds me of the colonel from Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, who was also badass.

but Donny in SHADEs 3. I like the idea, even if I'd never really play him. Grapplers are fun to fight, and in any case, I'd love to see your new DM for Ruckus. (unless you do something like make "Sweet and Sour" be the DM if they're fighting together in simul mode, which would be a pain to do, but an awesome detail. and if you do end up putting Donny in, I will check for it. Just in case.)

I'm half wondering how Gant would look wearing a vest over the suit. Or something to just highlight that he's retired in a subtle way.

I like Donny some but he would need something really cool in his moveset for me to buy in.

My opinion on Gant is also pending on his moveset.

Are you going for hi res sprites this time or sticking to low res?

@ Super Invisible

Sticking with the sprites I have. There's no way I'm going to redo the entire cast in hi-res sprites at this point. I prefer the lo-res, semi-CVS style sprites anyway.

@ Urbane Virtuoso and Oxe

The problem there is that Gant was not a part of the experiment so he has no powers. I have him focusing one explosives to set him apart from the other gun users like Specialist and Laurel.

@ xaekin

Ruckus would get a new DM. I actually already have an idea for it. And with Gant, I thought of that too, just without the jacket. I'll whip up a version of it just to see.

EDIT: I just found this via Google Image Search and I think it would look like the guy on the far left, Scott Caan.

@ Cazaki

Nothing specific planned for Gant's moveset yet, since I'm still narrowing it down to six or seven new characters and I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. Donny would be a pretty straight forward grappler. A lot of people have command throws, but he would be almost all grapples for specials and supers, plus his signature Burning Lariat. I was thinking of a grapple system where he would have a command that grabs his opponent, and then pressing additional commands would determine which moves you do, kind of like Buckus' Saturday Night Slam Masters characters. Otherwise, he'd be pretty traditional, since like I said, there aren't any traditional grapplers in the game.

Actually I like that alot. Another reference would be Red Cyclone by O Ilusionista from the Brazil Mugen Team. But yeah don't mind me too much, either way I'm going to play and enjoy.

I see, though it would take some to do that well. The least I can offer Gant is a synthetic variant of said-kinetic power; not exactly superhuman, but a man-made weapon -- like C. Viper's gloves. He'd need to one-up Bloodtide so this seems reasonable, though you could also toss in bombs to further differentiate his moveset. This augmentation could help him deviate more. :)

As for Gospel, I like the graceful design very much; it strays from the majority.  Looking to be defensive, I'm sure she'd meld nicely with trapping mechanics (think of Roa's/Aoko's Orbs from Melty Blood). Things to subdue her opponent with corner-pressure.

Added one more possible design for Gant, one where he's wearing a bullet proof vest over a dress shirt and tie, like discussed earlier. It's actually my favorite now. It's funny, I'm putting a lot of time into the look of a character that judging by peoples' responses would probably place lowly in a poll if I made one for the new characters.

Yeah, I almost wish I hadn't made it, because there's one awesome benefit of outfit number two.

Gant - I like it a lot. Any attire is good.

Do you have any graplers at the moment? He strikes me as a CQC kind of character, being a strong cop supposed to submit individuals.

I don't know about that new Snow design. The costume itself is good, but the hair just seems kinda iffy with the one red bunch in the front. I think if it went down the middle it could look better. That, or keep the hair the way it is in 2.
