Amazing what bringing quality voice work does.

how broken is it?

It's actually pretty well balanced afaik, just as many characters as MvC2. :V

Game's fine if your criteria for that is "not a poorly tested pos." Didn't hold my interest for very long though, gameplay and pacing just doesn't feel fun. Certainly not as much as Marvel 2. I'm willing to revisit it briefly but I doubt much changed on that front in the year and change since I last played it. Best I can say is watch matches and see if  it's something you might like.

I like it. It was also easy to get my non-FG-playing friends into it, so there's that too.

It doesn't play like MVC2 at all. Combos are far from being intuitive.

I bought it, tried to git gud but miserably failed. I just don't understand how this game is meant to be played.

Playing through the tutorials will do WONDERS at helping you git gud. No seriously, they teach you concepts like "how to punish" and "how to hitconfirm"

Skullgirls' tutorial is one of the best FG tutorials ever. My main problem with the game is that it teaches you to play as each character and how the game mechanics work like but it lacks good combo examples for each one and the game had so many updates you can't even go to youtube to check for some combo videos because they're most likely outdated, and even then it's a chore to learn them that way.

The PS4/Vita fixes that with a trial/challenge mode but that mode has yet to hit the PC version... IF ever.

i really like the aesthetics of this game, especially the steampunk design and the cartoony characters. im gonna download the demo and try it out. if it plays anything like Blazblue or MVC2, then im sold.

lol how can you be so consistently ignorant? they've had it on the japanese PSN and Xbox live ever since it was released dude.
anyways, nice to see japan getting interested in western fighting games, hope it's fanbase there grows now that the arcade community can get their hands on it.

I wonder what the Japanese audiences think of this, and if it will be a success.

The design choices and the overall art direction of this game is pretty far out, and heavily influenced by anime aesthetics... but it doesn't look ANIME enough to appeal to Anime Land IMO. Time will tell.

Hey, at least they got a better first product with 6 extra charas than the one I bought.

i'm luckily wait for Vita ver. since there's no release date news back then after the day of homies (PS4/PS3/360) ver. released, means it is 100% sure it might have language voice option default. I dunno about the non-JP homies ver., if the Language Voice Option as DLC (Free or Paid) or Through Update Patch

In actuality...Japan LOVES THE FUCK out of Skullgirls.
I've seen it so much on TvTropes and everything so it seems like it's pretty much a dead ringer that a full on release with quality Japanese VA is definitely great for them.

It was the top PSN download when it was released so yeah.

Btw I heard that a lot the Japanese fans like the Englsh VAs and didn't see the point of dubbing it.

It's probably just that it sounds exotic and different from what they're used to, like how us 'mericans find British accents to be absolutely sexy/high-class/hilarious for no good reason.
