I'm late to the party, just watching this now after a vacation. Few things off about this one. For one, Korra is nerfed just in relation to their other Avatar content they covered, never mind opinions outside their content, which is stranger still when she's the strongest character in the Avatar universe thus far. Not sure why they went the with the Kyoshi Island feat as a high-end thing to do, because it's never implied it was a high-end feat for Kyoshi. If anything it was a pretty straight-forward maneuver she did and implicitly made not a big deal for her being the Avatar to display the gap in power between the Avatar and that guy she was arguing with who fell to his death. The Avatar can change the world. Physically, pun not intended. Helping that all the more is knowing anyone in the Avatar State is at a level of bending higher than literally any and all the non-Avatar benders, and we know Toph can literally Earthbend the planet. Not until she's 88 or whatever in the Korra series but still. Last Airbender comics were heading that way eventually with Toph slowly anyways what with the like of her holding up that continent and giant steel yokai for like a day or whatever.
Storm on the other hand has the typical superhero comic problem; this doesn't seem canonical at all. First off, Storm having control over "brainstorms" is idiotic, there would never have been an antagonist to their plot with powers like that, no amount of magnetic control is helping Magneto if Storm just has control over all electrical synapses planet-wide. Storm has weather-based abilities, not word jargon. That sounds like a one-off thing that has surely been retconned because of its plothole causing. It's also pretty weird that Korra literally has a season-long effect on how airbenders can literally remove your ability to breathe and how that was used to assassinate a queen, wasn't given as a feat for Korra, but was then ironically given to Storm. Storm doing it isn't an issue, but be fair and say they counter each other because they both can.
The animation itself probably bugs me the most though, because it's a total stomp in Korra's favor. Storm can't touch the girl and Korra literally is about to win....then Storm pulls a reverse uno card and insta-kills Korra. The whole animation's story is largely on Korra's side and the ending is completely anti-climatic. Be more even in your fights or at least be more accurate to your own data in this case.
Anyways, not a fan of some things in this one, moving on to the next. Time for them to finally reevaluate the Bleach series after the Naruto/Ichigo one left Ichigo at a hilariously lowballed level of "blowing up California". I still have no idea how they got it so low as that. But this isn't Ichigo, it's Aizen. And as for the other dude, I simply did not follow Naruto long enough for Madara to be introduced. So what the hell is his deal? All I know of him is when he appears in crossover Shonen Jump press stuff, so as far as I know his abilities are wind and necromancy based I think? Otherwise I'm in the dark.
