Jesus christ, how do you do that  :-X
Best sprites I've seen in ages! So fluent, and Hi-Res.
How long do they take you? How Do you make them??
If I had my Mic I could of helped you with some voices as I'm pretty good with EVIL Voices and Deep Voices. Well, I know you have a good future ahead of you.
However, you have to tell me how you do that. Its out of this world!
Kinda strange but I woke up today and her hand was on my ass cheek
I won't suspect anything though I'll take it she was sleeping and didn't notice
you should have flipped over slowly

Ahh the Graphics reminds me of a newgrounds game called Castle Crashers

http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/image/article/782/782835/castle-crashers-20070423033418209_640w.jpg

I look forward to playing this game

Yeah both my game and Castle Crashers are animated using Flash, so it makes sense that they would look similar.

First of all thanks for the compliment!  I've put a lot of work into all of this!  How long?  Well usually I can do one frame (completely inked, colored and shaded) in 5 to 10 minutes; so it does take quite a bit of time.  How do I do it?  It's all hand drawn and hand animated in flash using a Wacom tablet.  There are a few characters that I've done (Charlotte, Nadia, Lil Slugger) that I made by drawing out a sprite sheet and cutting and rotating parts to animate.  However I found that particular technique to be more time consuming than hand drawing everything for me; plus hand drawn frame-by-frame just looks better to me anyhow.

Here's a few more animations of Ivan

Mid attack

Strong attack

This attack only works if the opponent is in a downed state.  It's also supposed to have a blood effect but I didn't bother overlaying them so there it is below.

It looks like his normal attacks won't have any range at all, maybe you should make him hop during them or something.
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.

> Holy shit dude! I find it amazing that you can draw a sprite fully inked and colored in 5 to 10 minutes and still keep the character's proportions consistent. If I had any real artistic skill, I'd be doing that instead of having to use a 3D model as an undersketch for my sprites, a method that takes me half an hour to an hour to draw each sprite. I would have liked to have made a full game with my own characters, but if it's going to take me two years to finish each character, then I don't think it's worth pursuing. Anyway, I'm definitely keeping an eye on your project, and I can't wait until it's ready.

They are very short range, but there is a good reason for that.  Basically when you play as this character you're also going to be controlling a second player; or rather this is the second player.  You're going to have two players on screen at the same time which you also have to control at the same time.  The dog, Ivan, is meant to be able to add extra damage to combos and make it easier to keep the opponent at bay.  At one point all of his attacks actually did hop or slide in a bit but with testing it was found that it was extremely unbalanced; especially considering how much faster he is than most characters.  If this character was a stand-alone one, I would most definitely do that, but in the interest of maintaining a balanced game, it's probably going to remain this way.

I'd say my best skill when it comes to drawing is that I can do it very quickly.  Though on the 3D model front; I'm sort of doing the same thing.  I'm using flash which allows you to use "onionskinning".  Just in case you don't know what that means I'll explain:  It will take the previous (or next) image and create a semi-transparent version of it under your drawing so you can easily see what you drew before.  It's pretty much the same thing.

Heh in terms of the time though, I can understand what you mean.  I'm looking at a year (maybe even more) to reach my goal amount of characters.  Of course I want them all to be great, but I want at least 30 done.  I'm sure I'll release a demo well before that though.  Anyways, the amount of time this is going to take is somewhat overwhelming, but I'm just hoping I can finish.

Finally finished Natalia.  Check at the top!

[Quick news update]

For right now, I'm holding off on doing a new character until I fix a few(hundred) things.  For one I need to return to every single character and update their sprites to hi-res ones.  I wish I had done my research before I started, but oh well.  I also need to adjust and redo a lot of the character's combo systems as some feel a little repetitive and too basic.  Some characters need more moves added and some need some tweaked so I'll be taking care of all of this in the coming week(s).  I want to be able to release a demo with the first 8 characters soon; hopefully before the end of August, but I'll of course keep you all posted.

Before I continue, though, I want to give special thanks to Byakko and Cyanide for helping me with my many issues with the latest character and to Kohaku for giving me permission to use and modify his Actress Again screen pack and of course to all of you for being so supportive!

I don't know about you guys, but that video reminded me of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Probably because of the dog popping in and out.

Looks great, man!

Walking Forward

I've been taking a bit of a break from all this since yesterday, but here's what I was able to finish since then.  I apologize for the small size; I'm not really sure why it came out so small.

Ok so I may seem like I quit this project, but I assure you I have not.  I have a very big update coming soon.  Basically I've been working on a whole new battle system that I didn't want to say anything about until I was 100% sure it could all be done, but now that It's fully working with no issues, I'll be ready to show it off in the next day or so.

As soon as I get a video recorded, I'll post it up here first thing.
