If there still isn't a UT for Morrigan yet, what about the variant of her Soul Fist from UMVC3? The version that absorbs a bit of super gauge on impact, I mean. It's a rather slow projectile, and by giving it a decent cooldown time, it shouldn't be too easy to abuse in terms of spamming, but could be a good addition with some clever uses. Just a thought though, really - I wouldn't know off the top of my head if it could or couldn't be easily balanced and such.

One possibility for Koopa (or Mario) would be a Warp Pipe teleport. Not sure how it would be used, but I just thought the idea could be rather easily implemented.

I'll toss out more ideas if I think of any.

Thanks for the heads up, never heard of the game before. Looking it up now, I can see why. I'll have to see if I can find the actual game somewhere, as it sounds like an interesting title.

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

http://luneth.tuzigiri.com/mugen_stage_plugin_ssb.html or just luneth.tuzigiri.com: head to the MUGEN page and then under Smash Bros, the Zebes stage has a GIF of Captain Falcon and Samus on the stage. Tried posting the image but it wouldn't come up. It was that Samus I was asking about - seems like the sprites are copied from her Brawl model. If it really is a character, I'd be curious to see if it's a good one.

And yeah, I was actually thinking of your Juri conversion when I asked. There are a lot of awesome characters that are restricted to one MUGEN or the other. I figured if I could learn how to convert characters, it'd be a nice way of getting more into coding and whatnot while also enabling the use of characters across both MUGENs, and could also be a good way to contribute to the community, so it's something I'd very much like to try my hand at learning.

Sorry if I'm a little late to the party, and please pardon the bump, but I'd like to try my hand at this. My one-liners are in the spoiler below.

And then I've got a couple for the Sub Boss:

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

I'm not sure how good they are overall, or how accurate they are in terms of following the CSI meme, but if you see any you like, Sean, they're all yours.

I think my best here are the second one for Squall and Koopa Troopa/Mario, and the last three for Terry.

Also, the first one for Skullomania is purely referencing the phrase "Skeleton in the closet", and not anything else. I realized after I typed it that it could have other implications, but it was not meant to. I would have removed it, but I thought it was funny enough to keep.

I'll throw more out there if I think of any. I love the game so far, keep up the awesome work!

Not to mention adding characters erases recently added stages.

I've had this issue from time to time; I always keep a copy of the Select.def file open before adding characters. Should the stages be erased, I simply copy them from the older select and paste them into the new one, then save it and keep it open to use for the next change/addition. I've found it sometimes erases arcade order as well, so I just copy and paste that over too. The only thing that really irks me is how Vselect changes all slashes to \ instead of / . I prefer /, so I just find all \ and replace them using the replace feature in notepad, not really a big deal. I suppose these could be considered issues to fix with future versions, but they're not terrible enough to even remotely discourage use of the software, at least for me.

Took out the stuff I've found or am no longer looking for, if anyone can help me with what's left I'd appreciate it.

Are there any pretty good versions of Sonson, Amingo and Rubyheart from MvC2 out there? They don't have to play exactly like MvC2. It just seems like the versions I've found are a bit...sub-par, at least in my opinion.

The latter of those two takes forever if the screenpack is arranged differently than the one being copied from, at least in my experience.

But using Windows Command line to output the names might make it a bit faster for me to organize it. Whether I use it or not for this purpose, that still sounds like something I could get some use out of. What do you mean by "Mount" the folder though?

Funny, I just literally found that link to MUGENHunter's more recent Sonic Characters myself and just finished downloading the files.

I'll check out Psychojolteon's stage and I think I may have found Alexei's characters the other day and forgot to mention it in my post, Miroku and Sango I think.

Thanks for the help.

And I was not aware that there was a Database here, at least not a character one. Are you referring to the Character Creator/Author database?

Once again, you are a huge help and I really appreciate it. Thanks for all the info, I'll look into those characters and links and see what I can do about the AI.

Just checked the CMD file, how and why I never realized/knew all of the moves were listed like this in these files is beyond me, but this makes a lot of things a hell of a lot simpler.

I would forget to check Mugen Free for All for the Arcana Heart characters...

Thanks for those links, and for the common sense. I suppose I really wasn't thorough enough in my searching, considering I somehow missed using google for some of those. I'll double check the stuff in my post and take out what I can find.

Dragon Claw was going to be a giant robot? Wow, that's something I would never have thought of looking at the character. I figured he was robotic in some way but I always assumed he was still somewhere in human height range, more of a cyborg or an android. His fighting style and theme song seem a bit unusual for a giant robot, but hell, I've seen stranger, and it probably would have been more fitting in the final product anyway. Thanks for the info.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense and clears things up. I wasn't really bothered by the fact that VSelect looked better, I just wanted to make sure my MUGEN looking worse wasn't something I could change via configurations. I agree with you; you shouldn't bother making VSelect mimic MUGEN's actual appearance, as having clearer images makes organizing the screen easier than it would if they were the same quality as WinMUGEN's. And yeah, it would be more work for a lower quality result, which doesn't seem worth it to me. Thanks for explaining, and thanks for making VSelect in the first place! Ever since I've stumbled on it it's become one of my most used tools for MUGEN. It just makes everything so much easier and clearer. It's easily one of the best tools for the program.

Also, my Fightpad does work in its entirety on MUGEN 1.0, but I'd still like to make it work in WinMUGEN if possible. Is there a way to do that?
If Mugen 1.0 works for you, why bother with Winmugen? 1.0 is compatible and doesn't crash.
Quote
So WinMUGEN+ requires HD Screenpacks,
Hires, not HD. 640*480 compared to low-res, at 320*240.

Woops, slip of the tongue with the Hi-Res thing. Or the hand in this case. I used to get them mixed up a lot when it came to MUGEN, I know the difference now but it seems old habits die hard.

But yeah, so WinMUGEN+ requires Hi-Res screenpacks, right?

And I like using both WinMUGEN and MUGEN 1.0, simply because I already have my WinMUGEN configured the way I want it to be and I have a number of characters that I use on WinMUGEN that are incompatible with MUGEN 1.0, due to either flaws in coding or due to the creator's design (such as a few boss-type characters). And my WinMUGEN crashes very infrequently. When it does, it's usually a problem that's easily fixed, such as a character missing their palette coding or my having put the word "random" for their stage instead of "randomselect". I haven't come across too many issues with my WinMUGEN that I couldn't fix after a quick search online or through the forums.

Though I am wondering, what's the best MP3 plugin for WinMUGEN/WinMUGEN+? I currently have In_mad.dll on my WinMUGEN, and while it works rather well, every now and then but really quite infrequently I'll get some skipping. Is there a plugin that works better than In_mad.dll that I should be using?

      Posted: August 28, 2012, 09:13:36 am
Also, is there some trick or special method for transferring characters to a different MUGEN? For example, I'm setting up a WinMUGEN+ to take over for a WinMUGEN of mine, and I easily have more than two hundred characters that I plan to carry over. Obviously this isn't much compared to some people out there, but it can get to be a lot when trying to move them over to another MUGEN with a different screenpack. Is there some easier way of adding them in besides copying and pasting, or maybe some kind of trick with VSelect? Not trying to sound or seem lazy - if there is a quicker and more efficient way to be doing this I'd rather know now and put it to use than waste valuable time taking a longer route.

I could still use some help with some of this, if anyone would be willing. Pardon my lack of knowledge.
