LoL cute, I just read your report on me. Very brazen on your part to try and call me out on name calling when you do it all the time when I'm involved. Oh hell, what's that called again? Oh that's right! Being a hypocrite! The fact that I get to you that bad is astounding to me. Especially since I'm using the forum "EXACTLY WHAT IT'S DESIGNED" for. See what I did there? This place is a hub for releasing stages, characters, lifebars, screenpacks, pallets, exchanging of ideas, and etcetera. People post these things to hear back about what people think of said items. Good, bad, constructive, deconstructive. It all has a place. It's all feedback. I leave all levels of those types of feedback, however, people like to focus on the bad and deconstructive mostly because I'm very vocal about what I think. Especially when something is just god awful. I want to see people improve but they aren't going to improve when all they see is, "Nice stage dude! That's bad assed." or generic +1 comments.

You say that I'm a poison to this forum where "we're all trying to become better creators through USEFUL, RESPECTFUL, CONSTRUCTIVE feedback" but yet I hardly ever see that kind of feedback but from 3 posters each for stages and characters. Even then there has been a sever drop off of replies from them due to the heavy decline in quality being output. So from my perspective the real poison is the generic feedback that floods almost every release. The only reason why what I say looks so negative is because everyone is used to getting told that their stage is "THE BEST STAGE EVAR +1 :sugoi:" when it's clearly not true. Nothing I have said is remotely out of line. So if you want to keep acting like a crybaby over then go right on ahead.

Anyway, now that Little Miss Prissy above me is done throwing her temper tantrum we can get down to the real point. The point I was making was that since he did literally no work whatsoever that it can't even be considered his release. He downloaded the image, ran it through the program, and then called it an alpha. He didn't add anything to it of his own whatsoever
and?!

it makes your life difficult or what?!

is HIS release, since he used the program, even if it took him less than a minute, he upload it and announce it...

not to be rude... but I don't see the point of this...
we get something great from Cybaster and bash starts  :(
The reasoning was explained in detail. Long story short the tool is primarily meant to save time on preliminary stage work like jigsawing, indexing, zoffest, and the like for the main compositional piece of the background. Meaning more time can be devoted to more exceptional qualities of the stage. Something that takes hours to do now takes but a few minutes max. Think about it like this, the stage when jigsawed by the program makes about 8320 pieces. Indexing those one by one would take a long time. A VERY long time. The time saved can be spent on making animations for the stage, and coming up with maybe an idea or putting a twist on something to make it entirely your own. All he did was run it through the program and call it his. Even if he did something as remotely simple as inverting the image using any image tool and then ran it through, then maybe yeah, he could call it his then.

So according to HankVenture, we are not allowed to use Cybaster tools?

HankVenture decides what we can and what we can't do? Since when?
Look it's SeanAltly Jr.! ::) Anyway, I never said that. I said that it's an improper use of what the tool is really meant for and that the release was not a proper demonstration of it's uses. It's not meant to be a one stop shop for stage making.

I see this topic like this...

I will take a pic, use the program and announced as "WHATEVER NAME STAGE by Cybaster" released!!

is that ok?
:P
I would actually love it if you did that. LoL

Stop posting. He clearly said he was adding more stuff your point meens shit.
Adding more stuff to the stage doesn't change a thing at this point. It was a lazy release made to try and put dibs on a stage that was already made for MUGEN. What doesn't mean shit is posts like your's and Sean's where it's a blatant troll and/or attack. I can't see into the future and see what he's adding so I'm replying to the content that was provided and I'm going to keep replying as much as I want to. Got a problem with it? Then fuck you.

Ah, so according to Hank Venture, we shouldn't use Cybaster's awesome stage tool because it does the work for us. So, good job wasting your time releasing that.  ::)
Anyway, now that Little Miss Prissy above me is done throwing her temper tantrum we can get down to the real point. The point I was making was that since he did literally no work whatsoever that it can't even be considered his release. He downloaded the image, ran it through the program, and then called it an alpha. He didn't add anything to it of his own whatsoever. No resize to better suit character size, no Photoshop/Gimp work, no animations, nothing. Literally zero work went into it. People are already well aware of what Cybaster's tool can do and saying that it's a demonstration showing what it can do isn't a valid excuse. If anything using it for just a static image is an improper demonstration. A proper application of the tool would be the Russia stage that was up here for a short time. The BG it's self was jigged using the tool and then other effects were brought in to enhance the stage. So yeah, it's a waste of time to release a static image that you did zero work on. Stop following my posts around and crying wolf every time I say something you don't like.

And? So what was the point of his post? And before he runs around trying to accuse me of eStalking him again, I posted this because his post was just as pointless as he perceives this stage release to be. Him beta testing it means he should have been expecting releases like this, and if he goes around making posts like this in every stage release like this in the future, he's going to be a busy, busy guy.
Oops, looks like she had more to say. If anyone's post was pointless it was your own. I was pointing out a huge fallacy in using the tool for only singular static images (especially from seasoned stage creators). Above all else Images that weren't edited in the slightest. Anyone who uses it for purposes like that aren't creators, and they sure as hell aren't contributing anything to the community. On top of that maybe someone will see my posts and think before using the tool as an end all be all for stage creating and put forth a little effort. I want to see people actually get better and use the tool for what it's meant. Not for bullshit releases like these.

Who said i wasnt going to add more stuff to the stage, you're making it sound like i just got the image, ran it through the tool and thats it,

im going to added alot more stuff to it
However, you did just run it through the tool and that's it. That's what you released here. That is what I downloaded and that is what I'm leaving feedback on. I'm sure as hell not going to leave feedback on work you never did. If you were going to add more to it then you should have held off on the release because all you did is produce something thousands of people can replicate in seconds. All it looks like you were trying to do is call dibs on the stage.

Seeing all this positive feedback makes me want to improve the parts I contributed.
Recently I learned a few tricks to make the program run faster.
Yeah, it's just a shame that the tool leaves 64-bit OS users out in the cold. For me it would be a nice tool to use to quickly see how I want to position a stage, how it would look with fighters on it, and other stuff like that. I would install a virtual machine but meh, one windows OS is enough of a headache for me.

Omelette de Fromage ! :moustache:
You know you've doomed us all with this tool, right? LoL On the upside, you will have made more stages, be credited, and made e-love to more than every creator combined by the end of the year. Way to go!

Pull your head out of your ass Iced. All I said is that the content has been available for a while now and that making BlazBlue stages is not possible for many reasons. So how does that translate into such a terrible post? It doesn't. I stated a two facts. Yoda can't make a 1:1 BlazBlue stage or anything close and the content has been available for a bit now. So how could you misconstrue that or "don't even know" what I was saying? Did I put down the tool? No? Okay... so where is the fire, chief?

I'm sorry, but what was the point of posting this? The most you did was find a source image that everyone has had for months and then click a handful of times (if that). You did no graphical work and you did no coding. When it's all said and done this is KoF XII Day Stadium (Beta) by Cybaster. Awesome job Cybaster, keep it up.  :2thumbsup:

Everything was ripped ages ago at the Dustloopforums, save for a few small things here and there. Also, Yoda making stages from the game isn't a possibility. If it's not one problem then it's 5 others.

Well Diss beat me to the punch with the posting of the image, however... Again you used my effects without my permission or even attempting to get it, this time knowing I was closed source. This is the second time you've pulled that shit. Take down your stage, take out my fog, and then reup it with effects you either made on your own, are open source, or that you have permission to use. Also I'm 100% sure that lens flare is MOTVN's so you need to pull that shit as well. I guess I should look over every stage you have and make sure that they don't all have something stolen from either myself or MOTVN (barring the ones that you did have permission for).

Perspective doesn't make sense even once you figure out what the characters are supposed to be fighting on, background is single layer and lossy, start positions for characters is wrong (only 70 and -70 never anything else), spaces in file names, ect. ect.

Wait,

This is not Rednavi's Background,
i did not use anything of Rednavi's what-so-ever
Not relevant.

i ripped the sprites my self using particle illusion. as a matter of fact, im going to rip alot more stuff from particle illusion and give them out as open source sprites  :sugoi:
Also i dont even think the animation in particle illusion can be looped correctly, im not sure

The floor was low-res but i tried to make it look hi-res :P There are many ways to achieve what you were going for. You're just not educated enough in the area to pull it off.

The floor and that reset think i can fix, ill also change the name  ;) Winking on the internet is almost as unsettling as it is in real life. Don't do it again.

-Thanks for the comments.

A lot of people touched on different aspects of the stage and it's coding in general, so what I really want to touch on is the Particle Illusion bit since I'm more well versed in it than anyone here who would give feedback. Hence the short answers in the text that I quoted. Okay, so here I go. Particle Illusion can do a few decent things if used right. I've seen it used in Indie films (lol Indie films), and in a commercial or two. However it wasn't used right at all in this context. It doesn't loop correctly, the colors hardly even match up to the rest of the colors in the stage, and overall it's just a basic preset animation within Particle Illusion with no fine tunings (color doesn't really count as fine tuning) what so ever. Second, ripping some of the effects and making them "open source" when you can't even use the basic functions of the program correctly is just a stupid idea. The program has a lot of intricate controls that I've seen no one touch yet. Not even -SyN- or Rednavi do, and they (no offense guys) whore the hell out of it. If you do open source them then people will have to work around the effects, work around the fact that YOU can't loop using the program, and possibly have to color correct every frame if they don't like the gimped effect's color that you're trying to pimp out. In all actuality the effect is supposed to work around the the source image or video, not the other way around. People are going to need effects that do different things, in different ways, in different colors, with different start up and end types. Without any kind of level of control of the effect on their end, it's nothing more than a wasted effort on your end. Instead of trying to get attention through ripping piss poor PI effects, why don't you up the ante and make an awesome stage? I mean yeah it's great that you pulled a Christopher Columbus and discovered something that others knew about well beforehand, but don't try and let that be your claim to fame.

freaking sweet release, Noz... thanks a lot, nothing wrong that i bothers me so far!! great job!

I was thinking about doing Guile's stage as well as Honda's one (from the same artist), since Guile's base was quite badly done, but I already have too many projects going on... I'll let you do it for me. :P

i'm already on that, baby :P

I've been on the Honda stage since way before the fad of converting the dude's artwork to stages came about.

we are grown men there will not be flame wars. although, me and ryon where discussing something we hoped solidsnake would use what we did and said as a reference for his screenpack. Hankventure was right tho looking from the outside in; The way he handled it was wrong but it doesn't matter. solidsnake your fine, your screenpack is fine, and hope to see that ex version of the pack. :)
I wasn't on the outside looking in. I was in the topic and I read every post. You and Ryon were using GrayFox's thread as a chance to plug your own packs. Also, how did I handle anything wrong? I said that it was rude on your part to shamelessly promote yourselves in someone else's WIP thread. That's like going to a stage release thread and then posting a link to your stage saying, "Hey great stage, this is the stage I did." It's in bad taste and it shows a severe lack of class.

personally hank should stop trying to control people.

i gave him an example of a "Colored" screenpack. your head is way to far up your ass for you to relize that.

we are grown men there will not be flame wars. although, me and ryon where discussing something we hoped solidsnake would use what we did and said as a reference for his screenpack.

this is true.
I laughed at the end there. You throw out a flame right before you quoted that and then agreed with his statement. Nice contradiction there, short bus.

If you want to give someone an example, give them a good one. Also, he asked for help with color coordination for the future when he does a different SP. To be more specific, he asked for a tutorial. Not for an example of an ill-conceived SP. To make matters worse, the colors aren't coordinated in the example you showed, it's just a generic hue shift that moves way too fast. To be honest most of the people giving advice in this thread shouldn't even be giving it. No one here is a decent graphic artist, no one in here has made a decent stand alone SP, and no one in here knows how to give a proper objective view. All you people have been doing is handing out your own personal preferences. He shouldn't have to worry about what you want, he should be worrying more about what he is trying to achieve. As for my head, it's on my shoulders and planted firmly between your mothers legs. Oh so sweet. Anyway, you tards enjoy being counter productive, I'm gonna go do something that doesn't revolve around arguing with simpletons on the internet.

No, it was a shameless plug. Just like Profylebryon post with him also showing his older SP. There was no need for you to allude to your color cluster-fucked WIP and there was no need for Bryon's reply of him basically showing off his SP. Stop derailing and GTFO.
