Ok, I'm using WinMugen, and downloaded some Street Fighter characters from this site:

http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/masadas/

I downloaded Blanka, and extracted all the files to this directory:

C:\MUGEN\No_limit_Winmugen_patch\chars\blanka

I then moved the files blankabg.def and blankabg.sff to the stages folder.  I updated the select.def file with the line:

blanka, stages/blanka.def

Blanka won't show up.  I also tried this with Zangief.  I downloaded Ryu from another site and it worked fine.  I've looked through tutorials, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  Anybody?

well wouldn't it be better to put this

blanka, stages/blankabg.def

I noticed you put just stages/blanka.def but said blankabg.def

I'm not sure either but me I would take the movie file and put it into flash then from there export to png sequences then open each sequence into photoshop and resize and save as a pcx using an customized action so it does it automatically then put each pcx into the older version of fighter factory and make the animation that way. This is one method I myself would try. I have never done it so I would not know the outcome.

In my opinion, 1.0 is on it's way they are working on it and updating the mugen system. However, winmugen (aka old mugen) is in my opinion for the vets. I figure in the next year or so it will be used less and less.

I would go with 1.0 only because it is compliant with old and new stages and chars. Also someone may have an older version of my stage from a couple years ago. I do not or at least not anymore as I have moved onto 1.0 completely.

no his is animated as well but skips a little too much frames but his quality of image is superior in a way. Find a way to get higher quality images and you will definitely make an excellent stage. You are right however I think j0nathan's is a little too low for my liking.

np Iced

well first off they are based off the same game (of course) but you can clearly see they are both different. Quality wise there is alot of fuzzines on dfalcon you can see he used a camera lol but overall his animation is much better quality than j0nathan's. Jonathan's is based on the older mugen which dfalcon's 1.0 (except it's missing some newer parameters for example "mugenversion = 1.0").

They are just based off the same no stealing at all except and idea. In my honest opinion dfalcon's has a lot more potential (plus has music) if he could get higher quality images. Now with j0nathan's there is some coordinate problems with his animation ( i can see pink in debug ).

Hope's this helps :D

I've seen it many times when people had to keep posting updates so the project wouldnt be forgotten and in hope of some feedback. So what you said is false.

<---- GUILTY... However,

No project dies because lack of feedback, feedback dies because there are no advances show.

I started talking about why do people ignore you because you say "OH MY PROJECT DOSEN'T GET ANY LOVE PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM HATE ORIGINALITY AND NEWBIE CREATORS" when that's clearly false.

I'm as much as the newb as the next guy and what you are saying is correct to some point. In my instance, I don't get much feedback but that I blame 1.0+. I'm not saying 1.0+ is a bad thing because 1.0 is great and mugen is finally evolving. I blame it because it is new and a lot of people are skeptical and or live by the saying "If it isn't broke don't fix it". So when it gets more popularity I am sure it will grow as well (including the feedback). They just need to add stage interaction and people be all over 1.0+ lol.

The way I look at it I take pride in my own creations. I may not get alot of feedback now but I still get hit by a swarm of leechers and/or hitters and if I don;t get any feedback I think to myself maybe the so called stage doesn't need anything or someone would complain lol.

Went through and noticed that Yuusuke Urameshi jumping flip kick is kinda weird looking. I am not sure but shouldn't he completely rotate. Other than that he is a solid character and like him alot. Shame he is a little pixelated but that's not your fault at all (most likely the sprites). I will check out the other chars later on.

What's the point if 90% of the people don't fix the problems.

I'll give feedback to the ones that try, and bash the crybabies. And if I feel like it.

Yes, I understand but by going from what you said that the remaining 10% is left out. Because in most cases they are the ones who suffer. If they are willing to unfix the problems due to incompetence they should probably be marked somehow.

Well, there is indeed less feedback in the Mugen 1.0 for now, since not everybody is using it yet. It will come.
As for the quantity of feedback, it goes up and down, depending on the time people have to test stuff. Generally speaking, I think the quantity of feedback is more or less the same as before.

I understand 1.0 is new and that was bound to happen I guess. My new question is should I (and probably others) make stages to work with 1.0 and lo/hi mugen as well? In other words come equipped with 2 defs or other means of distribution to both.

Talking by myself, i have far less time to test stuff, so my feedback comes in way less quantity and quality.
I still force myself to go comment on threads tho, I think people deserve the attention.

Probably like that because there's only Cybaster and occasionaly other people holding the fort that used to have like a handful of regular testers.

Hey don't look at me!

You guys basically hit the same nail on the head. This is probably the biggest feedback killer we have here. I wasn't here when ziltama left and I guess some of the other heavy hitters left us. Heck I was getting a ton of feedback from ziltama on a hourly basis. So that was a big downer especially for me when I returned.

Well I guess only time will tell the future of quality feedback :D

I'm not here to complain or anything I am just curious. I was here about 2 years ago and this place was flourishing with interesting feedback, suggestions, for low-res and hi-res stages, characters, etc. Recently I have came up with a bunch of new stages and updates to old (nothing fancy just stuff to get me involved again).

Now I know the there is a mix out there with low-res, hi-res, and now the latest 1.0. Has the feedback died? Using my older posts as an example I knew as soon as I put a new stage up it would be ripped apart. Suggestions, feedback, and interesting ideas would pop up all the time. On top of that I would have less views.

Now I have 100s even close to 1000+ views on my creations and barely any feedback, suggestions. I know I am probably not the only one. I just don't see the point designing stuff that's not appreciated or even hated.. I could be wrong it could just be 1.0 but I am not entirely sure I have not been around long enough. I'm just used to the old days I guess. Let me know what you think?
