Hey, I applaud your wide imagination. The feasibility of this project, unless you are willing to do it yourself, is very low. There's not gonna be any interest in helping you with all these elaborate characters and their movesets unless you are willing to pay for sprite work and coding. Considering the sheer breadth of ideas you've posted, the manpower needed would probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars for art assets alone. I don't know if you ever intend to learn coding at all, but that also will take a lot of time (and money if you can't do it yourself.) This is the reality behind game development. I think its cool if you had fun brainstorming all of this,  and I hope you can channel that imagination in the future into some sort of feasible project.

I dunno if I like that they get a free mixup and punish like you're showing at 1:00. You're essentially punishing a player for getting a hit confirm and investing in their "B-BANG." In the case of that Kouma clip, it looked like it was an actual guaranteed punish. Usually V-Shift and Combo Break mechanics are meant to reset back to neutral- or even put the player breaking the combo at a disadvantage. It becomes a real issue in games when these sorts of defensive mechanics result in giving a player an advantage for getting hit cause they have the meter. It was a recent issue in MK11.

I'll think about it. To me it was a great idea because BBB is like a very broken game with 9 freaking bars where you could pretty much get punished with 9 supers in a row, and you just sit there, watching---

Combos can be pretty freaking long with the B-Dash/Etc
I get the concern. A hard reset to neutral still breaks the combo but it at least does not actively punish the player doing the initial combo, just stops their momentum completely.

I'll probably be more open to this mechanic if there were counterplay or a downside to it. For example, if there was a way to use meter to cancel recovery frames on whiffed moves so the player getting broken can spend the meter to avoid a full punish. Or if youre set on allowing the breaker to recover first and punish, perhaps you could harshly scale the combo.

FUN FACT: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom had a mechanic called "Baroque Cancel" where you could sacrifice health to cancel attack animations in a similar fashion to my example.

tbh those turns mode lifebars are taking up too much screen space, is there a way to configure them to just portraits sans lifebar?

honestly, brawl and smash 4 werent the biggest successes- at least from the "competitive" standpoint thats being described in that above quote. the point being that melees longevity has pulled numbers and money far beyond what they did. ultimate's success, for the most part, is on strength of the IP alone- the incredible cast, the budget, etc. melee's longevity can be attributed to how much depth it had as a competitive game. the smash franchise will always be mega popular, but the fire in a bottle they captured with melee has yet to be replicated cause of sakurai's less competitive, pro-"fun" design philosophy in late games (he framed melee as "too technical")

it seems other studios and companies want to try and foster these sorts of games as alternatives more amenable to competitive playerbases, but i highly doubt they're going to really match melee's success, nor are they going to beat smash ultimate when it comes to star power TBH

Heidern runs an organization devoted to countering each new evil force that shows up, he's definitely a narrative device for KOF. Its just that KOF is very light on story so its easy to overlook

ike definitely the one who stands out the most to me as a genuinely great character who stood the test of time from his reveal to today. i think i would go ike, marth, robin if I had to choose 3.

I never really considered if Marth was less popular than Lucina. I think Marth still enjoys a good amount of popularity based on FE Heroes and his various appearances cross-series though.

But God mode have EX moves. Don't make sense for me. Omega is superior in comparision of God mode?

Are we using the same character?

In the source game, Omega/God was just a localization thing, so I can see the confusion. The "Boss" version of Rugal never had EX moves either way. So I assume Karma wanted to stay in line with the design philosophy/concept for both modes.
