Jae Hoon is gonna get repackaged as some Kpop influencer based on whatever popular Kpop group there is to boost DLC sales, isn't he? This is why he isn't in the base roster and not because of what the saudis want, right?
You know, when WWE people appeared in The King Of Fighters: All Stars (rip), as crazy as it was for The Rock and John Cena dueling with a large majority of characters both SNK and outside of SNK, at least it made sense because it is based on their wrestling personas and are well-known for, you know, fighting.
This isn't japanese comedian Norimaro's OC appearing for a one-shot gag against Marvel's characters, this is some DJ guy (if he is well-known around the globe like CR7, how come I never heard of this guy until now) taking up a spot that could have been a legacy Fatal Fury character or another OC in the Garou-verse to go alongside Preecha and Vox.
From what I read, he remixes some songs for this game. Cool. Can we get the lead singer of Chain Reaction in this? How about an influencer who says nice things about this game and will play it for a week before getting into a controversy with the law? Give that guy a healing move while you are at it so he remains S+ tier while he's behind bars.
So while the community is still bleeding from the lack of Elena updates, a new fighting pass has been revealed that will focus on my all-time favorite fighting game series, Rival Schools, albeit focusing on Project Justice due to the upcoming rerelease.
Playing through the pass will reward you with a deliquent's garments paying homage to Gedo High, Akira's helmet, 3 music tracks from the original Rival Schools, and a new fighting game screen based on the challenger's screen from the same game.
It depends on how eyecatching the game is to me whether it is worth getting the game on launch or wait for the inevitable all-in-one tournament edition. For CotW, it's the former. Game has really caught my interest.
I don't really care for CR7's inclusion, even tho those resources could have been applied for Freeman at launch. If anything, I expect CR7 to give this game a decent boost in sales due to name recognition. His role is honestly a risk because if the IRL CR7 gets into even hotter water, welp.

Game has Hokutomaru stuff datamined but it also hints Nightmare Geese and Nightmare Rock to be involved at the end of a character's story mode. Nightmare Rock wears the same attire as Geese and his aura mimics the same as Nightmare Geese.
Congrats Bobby Ologun, you are no longer the weirdest inclusion of an IRL human being in a fighting game ever (yes I know about Lebron and I still think Bobby is up there). (EDIT: no wait, I forgot about Norimaro lol)
The best part about this guy is that he is included in the base roster instead of DLC.

Re: fighting games news that dont deserve their own thread
Dave Mallow, the former voice actor for Akuma from the SF4 era (including MvC3 and SFxT), amongst other known roles like Angemon from Digimon, passed away at the age of 78.
I haven't really been following MUGEN as much as a should, but I'm amazed at the new releases over the past year from this thread. Kudos to KarmaChameleon and Rabano and the rest for the Akira Kazama character and showing custom POTS style is still thriving to this day. Well deserved for Character of the Year!
I'm just as amazed at the Super Mario 64 character and how insane the creator went to make it like the source material while still functioning like an actual character for a fighting game. No longer will folks be reminded of that weird take on the character decades ago, heh.
Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS4/PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC) (Year 2 announced!)
While I do love Anna's gameplay changes into using more explosives, what's with that hair? Why must Harada keep giving legacy characters completely new makeovers to the point that they don't look like themselves anymore
That Rage Art is on point tho.
(Gonna laugh if Armor King is included in this pass and he is suddenly a mutated Dragon just because)
Same reason as to why Heihachi is DLC in Tekken 8 despite being regarded as dead and all.
Joe as a DLC choice feels weird to me, unless the reason was to reuse his KOFXV model to save costs and just have a more agressive version of his student's gameplay.
Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS4/PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC) (Year 2 announced!)
Mai is really fun to play as especially with the fan mixups. Cool they also allowed the Avatar to learn Andy's Zan-ei Ken.
BTW, Battle Hub is currently doing a quick V-Rival event where you face off against Woshige, who is infamously know for the early pop off to death vs Ogawa in XRD Evo. This time, the challenge restricts you into using Luke, Cammy, and Akuma (who is DLC) and by defaeating his AI for all 3 characters, you get his pencil drawings for the aformention 3 characters for use as Splash Arts during the beginning of the fight.
So rather than have two characters fight to the death, we have two characters fight to the death while the environment murders their teammates just because. Quite the change of pace.

Kratos vs Asura from Asura's Wrath.
Personally, I'm intrigued how they are gonna go with this, considering the crazy amount of feats Asura has especially at the Last Episode like punching multiple supernovas and the like. I think Kratos had some fatigue vs Zeus whereas Asura could keep fighting for literal centuries based on his encounter with Akuma, canon be damned. Even no limbed Asura could still keep fighting at sheer intersity.
Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS4/PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC) (Year 2 announced!)
After a very long time since their reveals, Vice and Mature are finally inbound and retain most of their classic playstyles and familiar intros along with a new interaction with Iori. Releases on 12/12/24.
