There are many ways you could approach it, it really takes more of imagination than anything else. I think as a grab it would look pretty cool. Something like Yamcha grabbing his opponent's arm with his hands biting down like wolves, then Yamcha kicks them away. I dunno, pretty sure it could look awesome if done correctly.

Also, for a suggestion on a possible grab, normal or special attack, you could use this:

At around 3:20 he grabs Tien with his wolf hands. Its a technique of its own and is used in a few underground DBZ games I owned as a kid that I dont remember the name ( they could be hacks, there were lots of em around at that time ) and they would "stun" the enemy still.
Fun concept, wonder if you can use it.

No worries bro. I totally didn't rip off everyone in every sprite I have ever did or attempted to do.
It's just natural to try to find something to go from. Just know the line between copying and getting inspiration from.

People seriously need to learn the names of the states...
SSJ Grade 2 is the name given to the state Super Vegeta and Super Trunks use against Imperfect Cell.
SSJ Grade 3 is the name given to the state that Trunks' uses against Perfect Cell who has the nickname of Ultra Trunks.
These are the official names used in Dokkan Battle and other official media.
Also, one should care due to design differences that leads to a different sprite. Unless you don't give two shits about the design and being faithful to said character, in which case, go ham.

I mean, Super Perfect Cell is kinda SSJ2. Teen Gohan was the first and most recognizable SSJ2.

MUGEN can't do transformation like Freeza and Cell. This is the best you can get. Recolors in game.

You kinda could, I mean, the differences aren't that big in the way of transforming I was thinking about.
Majin Vegeta changes his stance, so through Emo Mode it is possible to have some differences.
Freeza could get a little bit beefier. Cell would just add lightning to make him Super Perfect. It shouldn't be too hard.

That said, Cell's voice in general is already similar to his TFS one if that's what you care about and Z2 team has referenced TFS in the past ( "Should've dodged" was one of Piccolo's win quotes, if I recall ).

So he can be the transforming char (2 transformations) and it'll be cool to have him change colors. We'd have to completely rebuild Vegeta for it and Goku's can't be done because his hair is too different in hit states.

Him being the transforming character is cool, it just kinda doesn't fit him.
A good transforming character would've been Freeza or Cell due to their many forms and states ( Freeza has 6, Cell has 5 ) but neither would work now due to Freeza needing to be redone as you have said and Cell's need to absorb 17 and 18 who are going to be characters in HDBZ ( at least 18 ).

And by that I mean FUCK no.
A reference to TFS is one thing, try to force in TFS jokes, voices, etc. just gets old and is really annoying.
I remember this being discussed in a Teen Gohan Z2 thread a while back and I agree with every bit of it.
TFS is funny and all, but you should keep away from it for the most part in a serious project like HDBZ is. If you don't consider it serious, think of all the hours of spriting, coding, thinking and stress the Z2 team may pass through and you will get it eventually. If I one day sprited a complete character and took long with it, dedicated myself to do something just to see it being used as another "DODGE!" quote, I'd stop spriting. It's just that stressing. If you want to sprite a joke character, it's something else that could happen. If you want to actually sprite and do something decent and someone did that, it's lack of respect for your project.

Trunks deserves it. He, along with Cell and ( even though I kinda hate him ) Broly are some of the most requested and well known DBZ characters to appear in HDBZ and there's still no sign of Trunks ( even though Cell has been hinted at a bit ).

And Lunchpolice, I feel you dude. I really do. Reminds me of trying to animate a stance to that horrid Tien I did so long ago.

Memes never die, you could also take the "me" route and just sprite when you want to and be as lazy as you can at it.

LightScarecrow, I like the Jackie Chun. The hair color on the second Jackie could use more contrast.
The lightest color could be a be a bit brighter, or the lines could be darker.
Also the feet could use more form.
In the anime his feet were very small, but the Z2 style is to have exaggerated feet, and hands.
So just adding a sole to the shoe, and seeing a bit of his skin could help.

Looks pretty good. Using Force's colors, aren't ya?
It fits Z2's shading. Proportions seem to be good ( to me ) and the metallic shading on the sword was also cool.

Finally touched up this old geezer again after so long. Added the white stripes and fixed a bit of the shading. Should be better now.
What do you guys think? Any criticism is welcome since I'm going to tackle on a few more sprites in Z2 style before trying some others.
