Only problem I see is a bunch of scrubs trying really hard to tell me that useless characters are actually important.

Dan sucks in SSFIV just do you know, all shenanigans and silly frame traps. If you think Dan is actually good, then you obviously exposed your skill level. From my judgement, you probably suck so just shut up because you probably talk more about fighting games than being in the heat of the battle.

And I'm kidding guys. The whole time I was pushing your buttons, because ever since SSF4 Chocolate days, Karin and R.Mika was a very sensitive spot to mess around with for some fans ;)

I don't mind whether she gets in or not!

Because playing to win keeps the competition, fire, passion, rivalry, self-improvement, and excitement of the community and game fun. Having a bunch of useless weirdos for "fun" is a waste of slots when there could be better, more interesting, newer or returned better characters. Playing for fun doesn't last very long, because the fun eventually gets boring. It's short term. Not meant to last. So that's why I feel like it is useless to have useless characters.

Though useless and "fun" characters do not bother me too much, as I always crush them anyways and people decide to whip out their mains instead of messing around.

I'd rather have a roster with only 1 or 2 silly jokes, and the rest of the roster are actually well-balanced, tourney worthy, competitive characters.

SF4 had many useless characters. Hakan, Vega, Dee Jay, Guile, Blanka, Guy, Cody, Dudley, and a few more. Now don't get me wrong, I have played very good players using these respective characters, but these characters are probably not ever gonna win a tourney anytime soon.

I'm speaking from a different perspective, a "play to win" mentality not a "play for fun" mentality. And I don't encourage tier lists, that's not true. I'd just rather have a roster where every single character is fearful and really strong. True, Namco Bandai can make Karin broken if they wanted but realistically speaking, they wouldn't do that. Yeah, we can make Megaman God Tier too, but it wouldn't happen, realistically speaking.

What I noticed is there are a lot of people who "want this character, want that character," and what they do, is if their character makes it into the roster, they go apeshit delighted. On the 1st day that they play it, they will use that character and realize that the game is not easy, let alone using their wish-come-true character is not easy to use, so they just play that character for "fun" and they don't even try to get good with that character. There are some exceptions though.

Lots of people I knew who were batshit insane about Cody and Guy the first time for SSF4 ended up in disappointment and either 1) quit the game or 2) changed their main or went back to their vanilla main

I know a guy on here who was gonna make a promise to himself that he was gonna go pro with Felicia in MvC3, yet he couldn't committ to it. He realized that getting good takes work, effort, patience, a strong will, and a fighter's spirit.

So I'm telling you in my opinion, she's gonna be useless if that's all you guys want her for, for "fun." I wished for Lili before SFxT got released, and on 1st day I played with her, stuck with her and never let go of her. I just think differently than some of you guys.

Sorry guys I don't know what I was thinking earlier. Very funny statement eh? What I meant to say was she is kind of a useless character, and she will be a waste of a good spot for someone else. If her purpose is just to have fun, then it will just be useless. She will be like Hakan, a piece of crap.

Instead of Karin, how about Urien, Q, Alex, Sean, Hugo, Morrigan, Lilith, Kyosuke, Batsu, etc

And don't give me the "But that's Vampire Savior, not TxSF!"

Look at Megaman and Pacman.

I dont understand why people like Karin so much, her character overall is pretty stupid. Her attacks look pretty dumb and she does not even have any relevance to SF or any important role at all.

There's a lot of morons who just "want characters to be in a game" but they won't even put an effort to "play the character" and become proactively competitive with their preferred character. Therefore the whole purpose of the character is rendered useless and all there for eye-candy or some other form of superficial pleasure.

This is a pretty stupid thread in general. What in the hell were you thinking?

However if I were to say that a character that should have never existed, it would have to be POTS by Ken.

With the way things are going I am surprised they have even that long. I ran into a family where the child never sees his mom and dad and his grandmother takes care of the child while they begin work at 5:00 am and leave at 12:00 pm. Yeah they make enough to make a living and fund their futures but I don't think they are around long enough to make an impact on their child's life. Life is rough, and sometimes people make sacrifices in order for their children to have a future; but what is that sacrifice worth when the child irresponsibly blows it away if not taught better by the parents who SHOULD be raising them?

You must be kidding... that is really rough. That is even worse that what I had as a kid growing up. Anyways, in United States it is pretty much like that too. Though since this is America I am talking about, some are very ignorant and will deny anything that will ruin their social status. Some say they have plenty of time when really they have nearly none. But that statistic isn't only true for the UK, it's true for the U.S. too.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-396609/19-minutes--long-working-parents-children.html

This is getting insane. Discuss what you feel... times are getting rougher, parents are working harder, wages are decreasing, and it doesn't seem to get any better (despite) this being an article published in 2006

Daily Mail said:
A typical working parent spends just 19 minutes a day looking after their children, official figures revealed yesterday.
The startling research shows the devastating impact that working full-time has on children who hardly see their parents.
With less than 20 minutes spent with their parents every day, this is only enough time to eat a quick breakfast together or have a couple of bed-time stories.

The Office for National Statistics looked at nearly 4,950 people over the age of 16 in Britain to find out what they do all day.
The findings make grim reading for working parents who already worry that they spend too much time at work - and too little at home.
Parents who work full-time spend just 19 minutes every day "caring for [their] own children", according to ONS's "Time Use Survey", published yesterday.

A further 16 minutes is spent looking after their children as a "secondary activity", but this means that they are doing something else - such as the weekly supermarket shop - at the same time. The findings come at a time when record numbers of women are working as huge mortgages and soaring household bills force them to earn a living.

Official figures show that 12.6million women have a job, compared to just 8.5million in the 1970s.
The ONS looked specifically at working women in Britain and what they do during a typical 24-hour period to create a typical "Diary of a Working Mum".

They sleep less and work more than any other "type" of woman - and still have to do about two-and-a-half hours "domestic work" every day, it reveals. A typical working woman gets nearly 40 minutes less sleep every night than a full-time mother who gets more than nine hours sleep every night.

This is because she gets up earlier to travel into work every day, or spends time every night doing a long list of domestic chores before going to bed. On average, a working woman toils at work for over five hours a day, although this figure appears low because it includes holidays and weekends when no work is done.

Recent research showed that most mothers with young families would prefer to stay at home and look after their children. A survey of working mothers found that just six per cent wanted to work full-time, according to Prima magazine. Half wanted to combine bringing up their children with a part-time job, while more than a quarter wanted to be a full-time mother. They were asked: "In an ideal world, what would you like to be?" Twenty- six per cent said they wanted to be a "housewife and mother". The most popular response, given by 50 per cent, was to be a "mum who works part-time".

Maire Fahey, editor of Prima, said: "In the 1980s, we thought we could have it all and aspired to high-flying careers and happy families.
"But the cracks are starting to show. Family life is suffering and something has got to give."

The new ONS survey shows that life is also extremely tough for fathers with young families, particularly those whose youngest children is under the age of four. They sleep less, works more and do more "domestic" work than any other "type" of man, such as one with older children or one with no children.

A typical father whose youngest child is under four gets less than eight hours sleep a night and does more than three hours of domestic chores every day. They are also working more than one hour a day longer than their male colleagues who do not have children.
Overall, the ONS found that a typical person's 24-hours is mostly spent sleeping, working and watching television, which are the top three activities.

A woman will spend 8.3 hours asleep, 2.4 hours watching television, DVDs or videos and 2.2 hours working.
A man will spend eight hours alseep, 2.8 hours watching television, DVDs or videos and 3.5 hours working.
Just 24 minutes in 24 hours is spent reading, a figure which drops to just 10 minutes for younger people.

And about that topic, I think Japan is still far more away from masculinity than Bronies.

No surer message of the dangers of nuclear weapons exists today.

This is actually quite inaccurate. Yes, the guys look a bit more feminine compared to US standards, because they actually have hair styles and are a bit more trendy their hair. However, I have found through my own experience that that look is considered a norm in their country, therefore the Japanese girls must be even more feminine looking in appearance and personality-wise.

If you get a typical US citizen Male & Female and put them right next to a typical Japanese Male & Female, you are going to see that the US Male will look a bit more masculine and manly with short hair. And you will see the female with a more dominant, "strong" female look. With Japanese Males you'll see a somewhat more feminine looking dudes, but next to him you'll see the Japanese female looking the most feminine out of all that I mentioned.

So it's just different culture. Though the Japanese dudes look feminine in American's standards, the girls look even more girly and behave more girly too.

Let us never forget the 1960s-1980s with all of the long hair dudes such as The Beatles, Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Motley Crue, and etc.... so, those guys got tons of pussy, I wouldn't consider their preferred appearance of presenting themselves as "less masculine." I would however, consider them to be more daring and have some balls to expand their horizons to look creatively more interesting.

And if I don't make any sense, look at Bruce Lee. He straight up had the Asian-long hair bowl cut trends going on in the 1970s. He was pretty darn masculine, weren't he?
