Figured that I was in the ballpark with the prediction. I just didn't realize it was that close.

So that ends this season of Death Battle, but two battles were announced for Season 10...

They had an event today that had a closer look at the trailer that just came out. Here's the Cliff Notes version:

-Jun is playable and canon. Apparently, she went into hiding after Ogre's beating. They also talked about her design.
-Rage Arts are back. Many assumed that Jun was healing her opponent... but that's incorrect. She's damaging them in her Rage Art. Paul's Rage Art is called 'Strongest in the Universe'. Also, customization is back as you can give Paul that big ass hairdo from past games.
-Stages are more dynamic now as certain parts can be destroyed to create new takes on that stage. It all plays into the theme of 'aggression'.
-The new 'Heat' system is brought up. Every character has certain moves that can trigger it and some, like Jin, can actually cancel out of it and go into another move.
-There are side steps in this game
-More updates will be announced in February at the Tekken World Finals in Amsterdam.

The way I see it... Jin did start the war in Tekken 6. He did all those actions that made him a pure villain here. There's no going around that.

But, wasn't he missing for a good chunk of Tekken 7? That explains why Heihachi was able to retake the Zaibatsu and continue the war between it and the G Corporation.

Now, we get to Tekken 8 and Jin is placed in a position he didn't want to be in: The hero. HE has to be the one who has to save the day even though everything he has done in Tekken 6 hangs on him like the weight of the world.

But, with a greater evil in Kazuya... it has to be done.

I know a friend on Twitter who mentioned that Potara fusions are stronger then regular fusions and that is canon.

The only thing to really figure out here is this: How wide is the power gap between a Potara fusion and a regular fusion.

What they show from the previews is a cartoon character against a comic book character... this could go either way.

One thing to remember here when it comes to Super Friends Aquaman - the abilities shown here are a very far cry from what Aquaman can actually do because of the rules in place for the series at that time. When Super Friends came out, violence wasn't allowed in the series, so the Aquaman here is massively gimped.

Will that translate to a win? I don't know...

You would think that this person would have read the rules and learned that bringing back dead topics is something that's frowned upon. Not just here, but any message board you go to.

It doesn't help that you're being pretty confrontational here. If you weren't being that way, then this would have been an easy case to deal with.

I fail to see why.

His argument stems from the fact that the franchise has had only two games on an Xbox system to date - the weird as hell Guilty Gear 2: Overture, which was an Xbox 360 exclusive game at that time and Guilty Gear X2 Reload on the original Xbox. Those two games came out 15 and 18 years ago respectively.

This is a chance for Xbox players to enjoy this game and with it being on Game Pass, it means that more people will try it out.

It was a kind of a forgone conclusion that Bond's gadgets would win the day for him, but now the proof is in the pudding there.

Next time is Black Adam vs. Apocalypse. IMO, Black Adam takes this because his powers are pretty much the same as Shazam's powers and I don't think there's much out there that shows Apocalypse being able to negate those powers - I know the movies aren't the best source, but he did get routed by the Phoenix Force in one of them, and that's a far stronger power then what Black Adam wields, I believe.

18 at launch is not bad, if you ask me. This means that there are only 7 characters left to go through (Zangief, Cammy, Dee Jay and the four remaining newcomers).

But, all of this stuff in the game.. it tells me that Capcom learned how bad it was when SFV launched and they're primed to not that mistake again.

I didn't know where to put this, but there's someone out there on GameFAQS that's claiming that he knows what's going on with the next MK game.

Here's the link to that forum post: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/253573-mortal-kombat-11/80146296

The Cliffs Notes version...

-No Injustice 3. According to this guy, Injustice 2 only sold half of what MK11 did, so if there is an Injustice 3, someone else would make it.
-The team has been told that NO POLITICS are allowed in the new game. Apparently, there were plans for a new hero that was non-binary, but some of the WB/Discovery reps got a hold of that info alongside photos of this new character and a script of story mode that pushed certain viewpoints. Five days after the reps got that info, the heads of NRS had a conference call from the new God Emperor of WB/Discovery David Zaslav (if that name sounds familiar, BTW... he's the jerkass to thank for such wonderful trash like Honey Boo Boo). He told them to cut the political shit or else the franchise is going to someone who can give him a game that is not woke.
-In terms of characters, certain fighters like Quan Chi, Reptile, and Ermac would be back after being gone from MK11. Certain 3D era characters would return as well, like Daegon, Nitara, Hotaru and Bo' Rai Cho. Of course, many of the mainstays would be back as well.
-D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn are now on the sidelines
-The Great Kung Lao is now a playable character and some of the returning characters would have new backstories to better fit the prequel timeline this game has planned - for example, Scorpion here is an ancestor to Hanzo Hasashi and one of the men who created the Shirai Ryu. Same with Sub Zero. In fact, the game plans to go more in depth with the origins of the Lin Kuei.
-Stage Fatalities are back, along with the return of stage transitions
-No Friendships
-Customization is also given the boot
-A new feature is character specific Fatalities. For example, you use Scorpion and defeat your friend's Sub Zero. With a different input, Scorpion would do a special Fatality on Sub Zero that is more cinematic and includes dialogue.
-Speaking of Fatalities - the violence meter has jacked up yet again. Think Takashi Miike or Dead Alive era Peter Jackson.
-Certain female characters will go back to the more provocative looks they had in MK9.
-There is also a lot of R&D going into realistic character physics. For example, he said that muscles will flex, flesh ripples during the slo-mo part in X-Rays, arms will dangle when broken, Reptile's tail swings like an alligator, and Kitana has jiggle physics (that aren't DoA level of jiggle, mind you).

Honestly, I don't buy most of this... especially the crap about Zaslav telling NRS to cut the political stuff out or else. I know he's the head honcho and all, but he's already burnt one bridge with his cost cutting antics in the movie division.

It's kind of nice that it has Sega CD games on there, crappy FMV and all.

There are a few Sega CD I wished were on there... *cough Eternal Champions cough* ... but beggars can't be choosers, you know.
