Not that I care much, but I guess for clarification's sake do we just not acknowledge the existence of laptops anymore?  Because I recall a solid decade of Alienware throwing their ads of their so-called top of the line gaming laptops in magazines everywhere.  Or does portable gaming just extend to handheld Game Boy equivalents?  Because that seems silly.

I have to agree with this. Since either than the built in or detachable with the OneGX1 Pro controller and maybe better specs, what's the difference between this and The plethora of high spec tablet computers and a tablet Bluetooth controller. Also I'd hate to see how hot these get considering gaming laptops already are portable furnaces on their own. But yea gaming has been portable since the original Compaq portable if you consider the computer being easy enough to move

Long story short: I am interested in maybe converting from MUGEN 1.0 to IKEMEN Go, but I do have some questions about IKEMEN that I would like have answered first:

1.) How stable is IKEMEN in comparison to MUGEN 1.0? I got started with WinMUGEN and that can be unstable and can crash at unintended moments. MUGEN 1.0 is so stable that any crash is either because the user did something or the character or stage did something; not one crash happened because of MUGEN. Is IKEMEN very stable, or is it stable but not very much so?

2.) How much effort is needed to convert characters, stages, etc. from MUGEN 1.0 to IKEMEN? Is it as simple as just dumping a character into their folders, or will coding and graphics editing be needed? I have hundreds, if not thousands, of characters and stages within my collection and it would be a nightmare to convert them all if it is needed.

3.) How secure is the program? As in, does the program connect to the Internet for updates, or can it run without ever needing the Internet?

4.) What features that IKEMEN offer over MUGEN as:
- A player? And
- A creator?

5.) Are there any issues that I should keep an eye out when developing for and using IKEMEN?

6.) What are the requirements of the computer to run IKEMEN?

7.) How easy to configure and run IKEMEN in comparison to MUGEN?

8.) Are their any developer tools for IKEMEN, because I doubt Fighters Factory's creations can work with IKEMEN...

1. From my usage of it, it's as stable as mugen 1.0/1.1

2. Most if not all mugen characters will run ikemen GO plus without much issue. The only issue with stages is the with the delta trick (AKA how 3D stages worked in mugen) but that is going to be fixed in the next release. It can also handle mugen motifs which the main difference is that rather than being under a mugen.cfg, the motif string is located under "Save/config.json" which is generated at first run of the engine.

3. No, the program is completely open sourced and updates are on the github releases. The only time the program networks is in an online match.

4.
Player:
  • Online matches
  • Bonus game modes
  • Being able to face an AI without having to use the debug keys
  • Native 3v3,4v4 simul and tag
  • CvS2 Ratio Mode
  • Finer Adjustment of settings
  • Built in red life, dizzy system, scoring system, and movelist
Creator:
Both:
  • Ports for windows 32/64 bit, linux, and macOS
  • Cross compatibility between them (E.G. someone can do an online match on windows when their friend has a mac)

5. Said issues that crop up with the engine have been listed but for basic development with the engine, it's completely fine.

6.
Basic Requirements:
A graphics card that supports OpenGL 2.0 or later
Golang
OS: requirements
  • Windows vista or newer.
  • Mac OS Catalina or newer
  • Linux with MESA, OpenAL, and GLibC support
There have been issues with AMD processors and Graphics cards, however intel CPUS and nividia GPUS work without issue

7. There's a little bit of a learning curve where things are compared to mugen, (as I mentioned the motif config being in save rather than data) but it's not to dissimilar that it wouldn't be hard to figure out

8. There is A patch for the Ikemen go state controls and triggers for FF3 as well as a syntax for notepad++

I just had a thought about this series and how I could adapt this to rather instead of a series involving AI rather with Ikemen GO pluses replay ability have it involve real people fighting each other with it being a monthly show. Since while AI fights are a dime a dozen, and it would be unique to see one of those AI shows be done with real people's replays. I mainly go this idea from the ultimate mugen team discord with their tournaments and such. Curious what people think about that idea?

I've posted this on discord as well but I'm trying to make it so where Hiryu by mass's projectile operate more like source where it becomes a low after a certain point to the ground, however I can't seem to set the hitflag nor the guardflag to low whatsoever. I've only done said change to the hitdef on [Statedef 1005] if you where wondering. link to said character.

EDIT: I was having a misunderstanding with the hitflags when I should of only been modifying the guardflag only

    Then again, it does cause a move to fail when it connects, so... I suggest, even if the decision to not make the hands hurt enemies is set, that this super would be an exception due to the way it is designed. Or have him start the super earlier, so he doesn't have to make his hands touch his foe to register the super.

    To reiterate this with Training by stupa (With KFM CLSNs) why it's important to have red hit boxes cover the hand as well
    also some other feedback

    • F,F, x while limited by the juggle points it is still a 100% combo
    • Since this is based off of SvC Athena, it still has her commands in the CMD making it hard to know the moves offhand
    • It still retains the auto max mode without displaying it as well as not having it though I'm assuming this is because it's a beta
    • QCB, x special, the second swing shouldn't be unblockable as well IMO since it does make it hard to escape unless you can jump then whiff punish quickly
    • IMO the sword should have some more priority with the red hitbox though the blue on the sword does look deliberate for whiff punishes
    • QCB, y special when it connects should put more stun on the opponent since the auto pursuit attack can miss an opponent that recovers fast enough

    I suspect it was someone from Infinity Mugen Team forums because of a brief argument I had with this person in mid-2008 on the site. The person's name was Kid Daigo aka The Notic. It could very well not be them at all but... it's my only lead based on my own investigating.

    Considering that the image in the folder, I'd probably say it's a punching bag made by them considering you had a argument with them in 2008.

    If you guys wonder why is he being a jackass towards me: I validated PeXXer's post on Discord because I do agree with him: I know that IKEISLEGEND is not qualified to make a pots character in two days because he can't design a good character in a more familiar system in two years. Even more important than: that this is a dude that is very ignorant and can't have a normal conversation because he doesn't know the first thing about constructing an argument. I'm not saying this only because of the "Rikudo Ossatsu out!" and the roleplay thing, he had a dense argument at MUGEN.NET (that let him banned) with Jesuszilla, Kame and me where he couldn't accept that MUGEN buffering had glaring issues. In that conversation he showed serious problems at making a point and his only way of responding was: "ok and?" to every single thing that didn't fit his point.

    This is also the same dude who flat out ignored when said scale of his master of fist was wrong off principle. Their few claims to fame is for four day one warusaki template characters CvS silber, CvS Yang, CvS U.S Agent (shadow charlie nash), and CvS "master of fist" Asura, with the ladder barely understanding how Buckus's asura works and argubly being the worst of the bunch. He also made a 3v3 "MvC2" unreleased tag patch... which has been superseded by Ikemen GO plus anyways. The only real lesson he could learn going forward is how fast he can get banned for their shit behaviour.

    The KOFM chars? Oh yeah I dont use that, but one of our contestants is. What's the reputation of KOFM again?

    Mainly that they are a more flashier form of KOF with a ton of supers and long combos usually more simplified than regular KOF. For instance cancels only require you to have enough super unlike in KOF XI where they require their own special meter to do them. They can be enjoyable though it's mainly for how long said combo can go on for lol.
