Pessimistic?  I'd call it realistic, tempered by almost a decade of experience in all manner of degenerative hellholes around the world where humans are ended because their beliefs or lifestyles don't jibe with the local strongman's.
Oh I see, you base your views on the extremes of humanity, some of the very worst examples of it. That is totally realistic and not at all retarded.

It doesn't take much for those things to happen in more civilized parts of the world.  Your comfortable existence is more precarious than you imagine.

Violence is ultimately the only thing that can solve an ideological disagreement.
That is a ludicrous, unbelievably pessimistic attitude.

Pessimistic?  I'd call it realistic, tempered by almost a decade of experience in all manner of degenerative hellholes around the world where humans are ended because their beliefs or lifestyles don't jibe with the local strongman's.  I didn't exactly spend my twenties as a homie working at the Best Buy up around the way.  Once in a while, someone on a Mugen forum knows what the hell they're talking about.

Ludicrous?  You bet your life it isn't.

While there maybe some truth in your statement... There is a lot that is not. Reagan was the slow simmer of the religious nuts... It grew further during Bush and Clinton... Then it became batshit crazy under Bush Jr. Now we have the republican party even slowly splitting with the nut cases and they call it the Tea party, which at first was a place for libertarians to get a voice, but they were soon swallowed up by religious nuts.

It even started before Reagan, with asshats sticking "In god we trust" on money an the inclusion of "Under god" in our pledge.

Take your eyes out of the political world and look at the none political. Movements such as museums we people riding dinosaurs. Those are not political things. Look at that asshat that burned the Koran.

It is more than politics... There has been a movement to make this country a religious state. To bring it back to politics... Many politicians say things like, "We are Christian nation." and they say we always have been.

Most Christians will not notice these changes, because they are ethnocentric and they don't care, just like I wouldn't care of unions were growing in numbers in power.

The push back has been building a very very long time and now it is on blast. You say you respect the violence equalizer. Well.... One day that maybe coming. I imagine that the day we start adding cybernetics, nano tech, stem cells, and cloning to our non-natural evolution... We will have to see how your equalizer works.

Also the other side of that would be the population problem. The future could easily not see those technological advances, and food shortages and economic destruction could also result in your equalizer... but in this case, it would be religions fighting each other. We maybe seeing the start of that now, with Muslims and Christians being at each other's throats. Remember your history and the last time we had a giant empire fall... Then it was the crusades.  History maybe repeating itself.

In short... Be careful what you wish for.

P.S. There is a place that has your fantasy cosmic equalizer. It is called prison.

There is untruth to your accusations of untruth.  Yes, pushback against religion is historically cyclical, but is in a period of intensification over the last decade.  In fact, you perfectly illustrate the sentiment of my point here:
Then it became batshit crazy under Bush Jr.
You may not recognize it as a personal bias in your head, but on the screen you can see here that you're demonstrating my statement while simultaneously trying to refute it.

Also, politics is inextricable from a discussion about science vs. religion.  They're simply not mutually exclusive.

In short... Be careful what you wish for.

Not my first rodeo.  I don't necessarily hope for violence, but due to experience I know the certainty of it, and thus view the constant bickering as tiresome and pointless.  Violence is ultimately the only thing that can solve an ideological disagreement.  The disagreeing parties are too emotionally invested in their world views, and will not be able to convince each other of the efficacy of their respective ideologies.  Eventually the discussion must degenerate into insults.  Insults degenerate into intransigence.  Intransigence degenerates into violence.  It's human nature, The Old Way.  We humans aren't that far out of the trees.  Resistance is futile.  Might as well choose your side and oil your weapon.

There is value in both science and spirituality.  Both can have a place in one's life.  Religious people have been misportrayed as inflexible and exclusive quite a lot lately, a story that in my experience is rarely realistic.  In the U.S., I find that after the "Great Push Back Against Christianity Because George Bush Was Religious and the Europeans Thought He Was a Redneck So Let's Ridicule Religious People and Call Them Backwards in an Effort to Curry Favor with the International Community So They Won't Overcharge Us When We Travel Abroad and Maybe We Can Get That Hot Parisian Girl to Sleep With Us if We Can Prove How Self-Loathing We Are" movement of 2001 to present, it is often the self-described atheists and vociferously unreligious who are more intolerant of religious people, not vice versa.  In fact, whenever I meet one of these people, it seems like the first thing they want me to know about them is how unreligious they are, and how ignorant they feel people of faith must be.  Then they talk about it ad nauseum.

All this talk over what we disagree about.  Pointless, a waste of time.  I believe in violence as the great cosmic equalizer.  Let me believe what I believe.  If it really just doesn't sit right with you that I'm over here satisfied with my belief system, we can have a fucking fist fight, and the person left standing with intact cranial plates and six to eight quarts of blood still inside their body can go on doing what they want.  Now that's a belief system I can get behind.

Try and keep it civil.

Oh.

Fun Fact: Conservatives work out and are born angry.

You mean that as a bad thing?  I can't speak for all conservatives, many of them are amiable, compassionate people.  But not me.  Aggression is what makes me get out of bed in the morning.  Aggression is what makes me excel at work.  I take everything fucking personally.  Pro tip:  so should you.  Hatred, anger, these are some of life's greatest motivators.  I'm talking from many years of experience here.

These folks aren't exactly your passive liberal types.
PFFFFTHAHAHAHAAHHAHA. AUSTIN ISN'T YOUR PASSIVE LIBERAL TYPES? I live here, dude. Austin is the most liberal place in Texas. At times, you will forget that you're still in Texas.

Yeah, that's true, forgot about them.  I was really talking about the rest of Texas (at least what I've seen of it).  But yeah, Austin is the Seattle of the central United States.

Still, despite their fey liberalism, they do have cool stuff.  Good restaurants, music scene, etc.  I actually like it there, provided I don't have to scratch the conversational surface too deeply with anyone.  But in that sense I can get along with most liberals/hipsters/trust fund babies, as long as we stick to inconsequential shit.

Guns in in public view of my eyes makes me want to take it away from your pussy hands and beat you with it. You ever notice that people who walk around with guns are the biggest pussies you have ever met? They are so sacred and paranoid that they spend hundreds of dollars to strap a gun on themselves, "For protection" When, if they ran into someone who wanted to kill them with, a gun, or a bat, or a knife, that person wouldn't give them warning first.

This is Clue #1 that tells me you haven't spent much time in Texas.  Drug/firearm smuggling is big business.  Let me assure you being armed isn't a bad idea, especially here close to the border.  But I also know your political leanings, so it doesn't surprise me that you'd be bitter at a conservative stronghold like The Lonestar State.

Basically, Texas is announcing that they are a state full of pussies.

LOL, typical Sham.  So bombastic, although I'm pretty sure you don't actually believe half the things you type.  Are you hyping up for a reality show or something?

This is Clue #2.  I'm not a native Texan, and I don't really feel a need to defend them.  But as an outside observer, you might not be so inclined to say that while you're here.  This is a state of meat-and-steroid eating motherfuckers (this coming from me), and if I recall correctly, you're not exactly a silverback.  I'm not sure whose weapon you'd be taking to "beat them with".  These folks aren't exactly your passive liberal types.

I'm torn on this.  On one hand, as a recent college grad, supporter of gun rights, and former hot shit soldier, I know that if anyone should have a weapon on campus (security and po-po included), it should be me.  However, I wouldn't be crazy comfortable with the dumbass 22 year old sitting next to me in class with minimal training packing heat.  Some can handle it, some can't.  Might be a better idea to keep guns off campus, or require additional special registration and training.

Chris Christie (even though he said he won't) or Herman Cain.  I also like Paul Ryan, but he hasn't really accomplished anything yet, and he's a little young.  Allen West would be a great candidate.  Maybe Petraeus just because I find him likable and he has a leader's presence, but I'd first want to hear what he has to say with his military leash off.

I was a Romney guy last primary (when our other options were Huckabee and McCain, how could I not be?), and still think he's alright, but with the newer faces this time around he's much lower on my list.

Gingrich, Palin, etc., meh.  They're likable enough, and they're right about some things, but I don't see them as our best options for a leader.

Either way, it's all moot.  This country has irreconcilable differences, and I'm tired of us trying to change each others minds but devolving into passive aggressive implied insults and pretending we don't fucking hate each other.  Wake me when we're ready to get down to brass tacks and start the violence.

Ive never seen a liberal praise communism. Socialism on the other hand works. 90% of the people that go "OMG! Obama is a socialist!" Dont know what socialism is. It sounds scary if you dont know what it is. The right have called Obama everything from socialist, anarchist, Marxist, racist, a nazi(which were conservative?), and any other degrading term that sounds scary to draw out fear of things that are different. It is to draw people away from the fact that they have no answers to our problems other than "OMG! Taxes!"

Take health care for instance, how many people know what is actually in the law? How many people think their taxes are going up because of it? How many of those people watch fox? How many people still think death pannels are part of some sort of liberal scheme to kill grandma? These are the sad times we live in when we would rather worry about someone's race or sexual preferences than on actual solutions to problems. Its sad and pathetic.

Actually, name-calling is more the purview of liberalism.  Calling someone a homophobe/racist/sexist/bigot is the immediate go-to for progressives.

Nazis were/are socialists.  Nazi is short for Nationalsozialismus, or "National Socialists".  The reason they were called an extreme-right party was because they were nationalistic (which differs from traditional Marxism).  But they also redistributed wealth from German Jews and other affluent members of the social heirarchy to what they perceived to be the rightful recipient: "Aryan" Germans and members of the party.

Health care was opposed because it was and is believed that it will force rationing of care and intrusion of government into your health, i.e. they could decide whether or not you will be denied care due to age, income level, previous health issues, etc, as it has happened in other countries with socialized health care (and as exists in the U.S. to a limited degree already).  The CBO itself has expressed concerns (after it was passed, of course).  Only time will tell us who was on the correct side of the debate.

Socialism may or may not be the precursor to communism. What communism is NOT however is the word Shamrock used. You cocked up. Your response to the cockup is to brush it off and then rationalise it. ADMIT IT. You misread out of a desire to be angry about communism.

No, what happened is exactly what I said happened.  I "cocked up" by not fully paying attention in my reply, buy for the functionality of the argument communism/socialism are interchangeable, as they lie on the same end of the ideological spectrum and theoretically are not dissimilar.  Even your precious liberal friends on TV use and praise them alternately.   I didn't "cock up" by being wrong, however, as the argument still stands.  In other words, you're excited about me accidentally saying communism instead of socialism, but the thrust of my point is still good.

are we still paying attention to atomic?

I've never payed attention to you, snowflake.  Have we even met?

Before socialism people had to shit in outhouses.

You shit in a toilet.

Do the math, or stop paying your socialist taxes on the water and sewer.

Or shit in the river like people do in India.

Wait.  Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait.  Did you just say the reason we have modern restroom facilities is because of communism?

I was busy doing something else while I was replying, so sue me.  Although I said communism instead of socialism, socialism is the ideological precursor to communism, i.e. the step when it all goes horribly awry.  You guys know what I meant.  Secondly, you'll notice I included this...

(in the non-semantic sense)

... by which I meant to disqualify the socialism/communism discussion that inevitably pursues when everyone falls all over themselves to try to sound smart.  Either way, the statement still stands.

Wait.  Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait.  Did you just say the reason we have modern restroom facilities is because of communism?  That's an amazing statement.  Almost all advancements the world has recently seen have been thanks to free market innovation.  What are they teaching in schools these days?

Also, I've lived in a communist country or two, and nice restroom facilities are not the norm.  I know communism (in the non-semantic sense), sir, and it isn't pretty.

hmmmmm. 12 of my fellow soldiers have been accused of mutilating people in Afghanistan... The economy is shit. The gulf was just filled with a shit load of oil.

And all I hear about is this fucking idiot who wants to burn a book of bullshit because his book of bullshit has better bullshit.

Can we say that someone is playing 3 card Monte and is trying to distract from the important shit going on in the world.

How is that shit in the Congo doing anyhow? Are millions of people still dying? What about Chad and Darfur? Are people in Hatti still dying? Are the Iraqis doing well? How is that whole war thing going? How is that oil spill?

Mr. Prez... Gates called this guy? FOr real? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

I hope he burns 10 qurans and the fire catches his church on fire and the fire becomes fucking huge and catches all the fucking news stations on fire, and Glen Beck Oberman, And Anderson-fucking-Cooper burn slowly. Then I hope Gates answers the phone and the fire travels through the phone and burns his ear and reminds him that he has more important this to do.... Like making a fucking coherent plan for the troops in Afghanistan.

In short. BLow me.

Oh my God, we agree on something.

Aaaawwwww, I guess it wasn't racist or hate-filled at all, was it?  I see an awful lot of red faces in the media.  There were more black people behind Beck's podium than there were in the entire audience at the Sharpton rally. ;P

How is it that Beck doesn't get locked up. If a black man was on the street corner saying the shit he says, they would hall him away.

How is that for racism?

Wow, what a miscast.  Why do you try so hard to separate yourself from other white folks, Shamrock?  What's with the apologetics?  It's not very masculine, and you're not going to get a brother card for it.

I fucking hate white people.

I know you do, princess (assuming you're not white).  And you wish they hated you back, but they don't.  Aren't you a little embarrassed or disgusted with yourself for saying such a thing?  And where do we go from here?
