Hello my friend, how are you? Yes, I lost! The problem that I think will be hard to find ...
These are two of my characters that I was playing, but at the time I only made available to some friends and the people of G.E.M ...
One is Dragon Ball Z's Reecon with ripped Anime sounds!
And the other was sonic knuckles with some edited MamboJambo hits ...
The worst thing for everyone I ever asked doesn't have it anymore either ... :'(

Your English is good enough.

Allow me to explain what's happening.

The people that liked this didn't care much for how the character played, they only cared about how the character looked. These people never cared about gameplay, they just wanted a character that looked flashy and either gave them easy wins(thanks to the jank the character possessed) or had "strong AI" (Because the only mode they touch is Watch mode). These people haven't gone away. There are still stuff being made that is poorly made gameplay wise, but is flashy enough so they don't care.

People like Giang and I don't have much interest in flashiness and are more interested that the gameplay is solid and follows basic FG standards. I simply watched the video and didn't test it myself and I could tell there was some weird stuff that wasn't right just by eyeballing it.

And that's exactly what I currently intend to do with my character!
As I said at the time I did it (2003/4), a lot of things were fun and we had different views. (And I was silly at the time too).
But I really came back today with the intention of doing something more mature and effective!
Of course, I haven't had much time to do all the necessary updates yet ...
Given that I had to make a page for the site, update all the characters and stages of my old group to host (not finished yet), and at the same time work with my own content that was also donating all these years. !
My priority in the beginning is to bring them back, and then as the community contributions make the appropriate adjustments ...
Other than getting used to a new mugen (1.0), and a new community ...

Maximus, don't worry about some people being too harsh to the point of being rude.

I understood the fact the crouching light punch was supposed to be unblockable as a joke. You took feedback pretty well.
It's also understandable that no one pointed out mistakes (or "features" ;D ) in your character since it was supposed to be fun... for the period.
You came back after a long time, so stuff like "he's been here for 6 years" is not really necessary, nor is the "he shouldn't be contributor" line I've read here. Don't mind those.






My feedback, and Giang's, is supposed to improve the character for replay value more than for "lulz he's flashy" and then forgetting about it.


- The voice thing I listed (every light attack one voiceclip, every medium attack another voiceclip and the heavy attacks yet another one) could make the character sound too repetitve, maybe make it so he plays the clips once in a while.


- The launchers being two is a bit weird, one is a command and the other is just a button, what would anyone choose? The one with the button, it's easier and more intuitive to do, rendering the command launcher (the QCB, any kick launcher, to be precise) useless or a filler move. It's bad to have filler moves that can be replaced by more versatile moves.


- Is the character supposed to have combos? A combo system like MvC characters? Because the grounded attacks don't allow for combo-ability and you have launchers that should, in theory, open possibilities for aerial combos, a staple of the MvC series. But it's difficult to do those too.


- The collision boxes are bad, they were probably okay for the time (not really, they just meant a broken character even by those days' standards), but you should definitely check them out.
For example, in the neutral jump animation, while he's falling down, he has no CLSNs making him completely invincible.
The taunt animation has frames where they're not present or are too small.

There are so many animations where you have to fix those.
One rule I use is using the standing animation blue CLSNs for actions like guarding (standing), turning, taunting, get hits (standing), and in general for standing actions (with modifications, of course), the crouching animation blue CLSNs for crouching actions etc.; I mean, don't make new ones every time: make everything more cohesive.

this is a bad CLSN placement. Not only the kick has lots of priority (red CLSNs not covered by blue CLSNs), there are also too many.
What I would do, not looking at the games, just by my own judgement of what's better, and following the tutorials, would be this:

See how the blue CLSN covers the red one? Also there are less boxes too. It's all about optimizing and making them game-friendly.
Mind you, my way of putting the collision boxes might be wrong, but at least it's much better than adding too many of them.


- Also the timings on the attacks are slow for the animations and the pausetimes are too small.
pausetime = 1
not even pausetime = 1,any number

There is a pausetime = 1   ;8,10
why didn't you use the 8,10 one? Or at least something different, but fitting for the attack?







That's all for now. I didn't look too much into the supers although I saw some that are silly.
Ah, yes, there's one thing about them. The supers (which use power) give back power. That shouldn't be a thing.
Add getpower = 0,0 to the hitdef of the moves. ;)

Considering this character 110% would be wrong, there's so much to be fixed, hopefully you'll make it better (if you intend to fix it of course).

First of all I would like to say that I am extremely grateful for your words.
 And say your contribution was the best I've had in years!
I'll be honest, even at the time I never paid much attention to the crash boxes.
I just studied the basics and always worried about studying and going deeper into other things!

If you consider this aggressive, you should have seen a few years ago. This is tame compared to that time.
You said you wanted to improve and fix this character. Giang has provided a nice little list explaining some critical flaws for you to look over and your response was "Yea, those mistakes were actually intentional" which puts doubt as to whether you were serious about improving. When you get called out on it, you decide to backpedal with "It was a joke lol".

Looking at the feedback, you have quite a lot of work ahead of you, if you do decide to go fix this character. As of right now, I'll have to agree with Giang. I have no reason to believe you will fix and improve your character based on your actions.

You are, of course, more than welcome to prove me wrong.

I think my difficulty with English should disturb ...
Really some things were intentional!
Like it was a joke!
It was fun at the time to do this!
People liked this kind of thing!
I think now maybe you understand ...
As I said there are errors that yes, I had not seen, and no one had never pointed me!

Necessary. I expected an author with 6 years of experience and multiple releases at this point would have known simple stuff like damage scaling or the fact that when the red CLSN comes out too soon, opponents won't be able to block it, or even how to make explod not being linked when root's palette being manipulated (and a ton of other things). It's ok, turned out the character was supposed to be a joke and we shouldn't take it seriously so put down the pitchforks folks. I should remember this whenever I see your releases to avoid wasting my time providing feedbacks as soon as I see how the unblockable low punch being intentional instead of a glitch due to how it was poorly coded in the character's file.
I see that a lot has changed in these years that I've been standing still ...
And people are much more aggressive ...
They don't accept a joke or something ...
But let's go! I would like you to continue to give me suggestions. Even if it's offending me. Because they can help me improve ...
The Black Tiger is a character from a different era. But this is no excuse for mistakes or wrong choices!

Ignoring the fact that an unblockable low jab is really unfair, there's no point in using any other normal. Use the low jab that will always hit.

He has a ton of problems.
- No damage scaling.
- Unblockable crouching light punch.
- No damage scaling.
- Can grab out of blockstun.
- Nothing (except Flash Kick) is punishable.
- A ton of FXs share pal with root so they will just change the color when root's palette is manipulated.

And some more stuff that AlexSin pointed out:

It is with joy that I come to you officially relaunching my Super Zero!
I made some minor improvements to it, but I intend to redo many things!

Good memories from the past!
I remember playing most of them when we had so many different mugen communities around.

But it's good to see these oldschool characters are still compatible thanks to the fixes ^^
I'm glad to be able to contribute to the community and for the support!

It is with joy that I bring the first characters of old G.E.M that are being relaunched after years!
They look exactly the same as they were done by their respective programmers! Without changes!
The only thing I did was fix the bugs that prevented them from working on the new mugen!
Otherwise they remain intact! Out of respect for my old friends!

Hello my friends!
I haven't posted anything for a few days, because I'm working hard!

Tigre Negro

Finally it will be relaunched already updated to the new mugen 1.0!
Other than that, some bugs have been fixed, and AI has been improved. (it's less exaggerated).
In the tests I performed I found no errors in the new mugen. But I'll be grateful if anyone finds something and can tell me!
PS: When I open in Fighter Factory some errors still appear. But nothing that gets in the way! These are some things I'm still getting used to in relation to the new mugen ...

SuperZero

Unlike TigreNegro, SuperZero is still being relaunched in the old Mugen!
This is because I want to make many changes to it in the future, such as improving the images, putting new effects, redoing a few strokes, etc.
Precisely for this reason I intend to relaunch as he was! Only compatible with the new mugen, but still a character from the old lineup ...

Darkseid

This is going to be the first time I will officially release this character.
That had only released at the time to friends ...

Another thing I want to change is the sound ... It was voiced by me ... And yes ... I didn't like it ...

Thanos is another character I have never officially launched!
What happened was something I launched at the beginning of my programming career that I called "MAXIMUS" ... But that can't even be called a character ... Hahahahah!
Thanos is well advanced in programming. But there is still a lot that I want to change!
To start the voice, which at the time I had the brilliant idea of putting the same as I had in the old MAXIMUS ...
It diminishes his intelligence, but I still think it's a bit over the top ... I want to touch the future on this too ...
But anyway, just like TigreNegro will come fully to the new mugen 1.0!

G.E.M Contents:

About the hosted content of the old page of G.E.M, this week I already intend to upload all the old characters, and some more stages!
Recalling that the contents of G.E.M. will only be hosted and are the responsibility of their authors!
I do not intend to make any changes to them!

great to see Dos era Mugen creator back  :truestory: I saw a typo in your website, it is under G.E.M -> Stage -> Victor SSJ3, the samurai shodown stage of Jubei Yamada should be Jubei Yagyu, not Jubei Yamada. Jubei Yamada is from Fatal Fury series

But I decided after years to come back!
And with my return, bring all the content from the old G.E.M site!
all the characters! All stages!
Everything will be back!
Even the things I never officially launched!
I want to update every step! Both of the new site, as well as the changes and updates made!

Eu testei esta parada de falas dos personagens no Trigre negro!
Na realidade esta já é uma das novidades dele! :muttrox:
Mas eu percebi que quem joga o jogo no idioma "inglês", não só as palavras com acento não aparecem, como as vezes as frases saem corrompidas! Então decidi não colocar acentos para que ele funcione corretamente! O que você acha disto? Ou só aconteceu comigo?  o_O
.   Bom, MAXIMUS... eu demorei para resolver esse problema e só resolveu quando me meti a escrever algumas frases pelo celular. Aí saquei o esquema:

1) Estamos acostumados a escrever essas coisas no Bloco de Notas do Windows, que por padrão salva em ANSI. O Mugen lê essas frases no formato UTF-8 (o mesmo de celulares e aplicativos orientais). Passe a usar "Salvar Como" > "Codificação: UTF-8" que o problema cessa. (O Fighter Factory tende a não mudar a codificação).

2) Essa parada das frases de vitória agora segue uma codificação internacional de letras (Validação ISO 639-1 . Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes)... É por causa disso que alguns caracteres de acentos somem, são mudados ou viram símbolos japoneses. Por isso que é preciso definir o idioma das frases no começo da lista. O mais próximo do nosso é "pt". (Não é o partido, viu!?)

3) Inglês não tem acentos, MAXIMUS. Eles tem os fonemas, mas representam diferente: nosso "é" se torna "eh" para eles (e se não me engano, o "ê" se torna "he"). Você pode fazer uns macetes da época do computador Apple II (ou TK-2000) como escrever o apóstrofo ao lado, representando o " é "   como " e' " ou colocar um "_" na linha de cima e sobre o "a" para parecer um "ã", mas é trabalhoso, de resultado irregular e eu não recomendo. Pense melhor antes de escrever frases em português em um Mugen configurado para inglês. Mas admito que quase ninguém se preocupa em trocar o idioma padrão no MUGEN.CFG.

Mas pelo que você falou mesmo mudando a forma de gravar ainda assim poderá aparecer erros para quem usa o padrão "inglês?" (tipo 90% dos jogadores?). :shocked2:

Bom saber.... Eu ia usar um blog, mas peguei um serviço do meu email. mas mesmo assim ele não tem muito espaço. E continuo na mesma! :mhmm:
Minha conta do MediaFire é recente, então não sei dizer, mas a do OneDrive é bem antiga e tenho tudo la ainda. E sim, 50 GB do MEGA pra conta gratuita. :)

ainda bem que não estão apagando mais. Porque lembro que antes apagavam se alguma coisa ficava lá e não era usada...  o_O
