But, i cant make a 32 bit PNG image... Im Using Photoshop CS5
When creating a new file (Ctrl+N) set the Color Mode into RGB 8 bit.
8 bit per channel = 8 x Red Green Blue Alpha = 8 x 4 = 32 bit.
Then save it as png. If you want a reduced size png, save in File>Save for Web.

Didn't know that png can be set to save in reduced color. Gotta lurk moar on google I guess.
Thanks again for the help Rednavi! Cheers! :)

Thanks Rednavi, I know what you mean.

So basically, If you want to use/link certain image into a color palette (like sprite color linked to the big portrait color), use .pcx format.
If the image does not need a color palette and you want the image quality to be higher, not limited to the 256 color (like image for lifebars, title menu, stage bg, etc), use .png format.

This pretty much answer all my questions, and does anyone know a link to the mugen 1.1 Alpha 4 documents/readme?
I want to know the change between the old one.

Finally after a long time of period, a new mugen engine is released (or leaked whatever).

My question is is there any new features compared to the old 1.0?
And it's said that it now support 32bit png files, is this mean that the image and sprite doesn't have to be indexed? Then what about image/sprite linked to the palette color?

Has .pcx format have become obsolete in the future of mugen?

I don't know if this should go to Mugen Discussion or Development. You can moved it to the appropriated section if you want.

Maybe around 18-20 slots.

I still tweak the design so that it will hold more chars (my goal is around 50-60 slots).

This is the second version of the Select Screen, but I still not satisfy about it because it will have a low amount of slots for the chars, which I'm sure will be frowned upon by many user (especially the leecher-type).

Oh btw, this SP will be released in 640x480 and 1280x720. Both will have Custom and Normal portraits. So there will be 4 zipped files.

@MaxBeta: TY for the tutorial at the front page.

Btw, why don't you retracing it using the vector method?

It is equally easy (especially if using tablet/wacom), a much cleaner method, plus you can always resize the image to any size without fear of losing some of the resolutions. You can also import the vector file into PS/Gimp for additional touch up.

The naked duck images is an instant win. Congrats.

Nice tutorial, easy to understand & definitely a quicker method than the traditional one.

Btw, this should go to the Tips, Tricks, Tutorials section.

I'm actually a bit glad this came with teh characters IMO.
Same here.

I have never had any chance playing fighting games from Type-Moon, so this compilation is a bless for me. :)
But, adding Guilty Gear & Arcana Heart's characters to the game is an odd choice imo.

Still, congrats! You have born a beautiful screenpack into the mugen world. ;)

lol I wondered the same thing when I relocate options.def from the Fonts folder.

Well, I wish in mugen 1.1 we are able to change Option Menu's font by tweaking system.def.

This topic is solved btw. :)

Questions regarding Option Menu's font

In order to change the font for the Option Menu, one must tweak options.def located in mugen\font\ (default).
The font file itself must be located in mugen\font\ (for .fnt and .tff) or you must already have the .ttf file copied in WINDOWS\Fonts\ in order for mugen to detect it.

My questions is this:
1. Can options.def read the font file (.fnt and/or .ttf) inside another folder BESIDES mugen\font\ and WINDOWS\Fonts\?
Let's just say I create a screenpack with a special theme design and created a specially made font for the Option Menu, and I put the font inside my screenpack folder (ex: mugen\data\SFZERO5\fnt\). Can my font be applied in Option Menu even though it's placed somewhere else?

2. Can options.def be duplicated and placed in another folder beside mugen\font\?
Just like we are allowed for to have multiple system.def for different screenpack in mugen (setting with mugen.cfg), can we also have multiple options.def for different screenpack?

Before i create this topic, I've already test this problem on my own. The result is: options.def CANNOT read font other than those two designated place (mugen\font\ and WINDOWS\Fonts\). And multiple options.def is not allowed because mugen engine only recognize options.def in mugen\font\.

But nevertheless, I post it here because perhaps my test is wrong or perhaps somebody have insight of workaround through this problem.

Been reading it for some time. I am now ONLY reading it because i have been. Not because i've actually been enjoying it.
lol! Same as I! ;D

I read it from chapter 1 because of my friend influence. The story have been going downhill since the Arrancher arc and there is still many plot hole (such as Ichigo resurrection and Soul King) that Tite need to address before he finished it.

I think the best example is Kakashi, who is often regarded as having average to below average chakra but is considered a kage worthy ninja on merits of skill and strategy alone.

compared to whom? the kages? I remember when he created some bunshins thinking "I still got a bit of chakra left", and there were like a hundred of them...
Actually, the main reason Kakashi's chakra depleted so fast it is because of the sharingan. Remember that Kakashi is not an Uchiha clan, so it drain more chakra if he use it.

You should turn it into a script and give it to some Hollywood producer for a movie adaptation.

Hollywood love this kind of shit.

Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (2009)

Although i'm not a gore/guro fans, this movie is very enjoyable for me. Lots of funny moments and absurd amount of silly scenes. Even though this movie show excessive amount of bloods, don't worry. The rain of blood scenes is done in a comedic fashion, so those who have weak stomach will pretty much laugh at it instead of feeling queasy.

Okay now for the story:
A triangle love story between a human boy, vampire girl and Frankenstein girl. With bloods... lots of it.

Well this is an interesting thread.

If i thrown back 2000 years ago in the same spot or location, i first try to get friendly with the local and the king, land lord, or whoever own that land. Then i work as building architect for the villager in exchange for food or a place to stay. I build up my reputation by making a safer but strong houses by using math and physics calculation that i learnt from the future. And my side job is teach the kids or the villager with basic math, basic physics (no light speed or E=MC2), cosmos knowledge (Carl Sagan FTW!) and create few simple inventions like water purifier or wind-powered water pump for them.

With this knowledge, i hope it will make them smarter and will have better chance to go against foreign invaders in the future.
