I was talking about Hiram Yagami not reading messages just so you know.

Mai's design is based on my personal tastes. I actually have a OC that has the exact same design but without the tails.


No problem, I somethimes still don't really understand the exact english meaning. ^^;

I checked my laptop, I cannot find the sprites. I think it's in one of my HDD...
I'll check it later. I don't have the time right now.

About the design itself... Good tastes, this is a great design.
Are you going to code characters by yourself ?

Her design uses her dress from XIII, which bares her back, and her open socks from FF3 and RB2.

Could you show me your version of her butt attack?

I'm not good with english but I don't think I missed an information about her design clothes. But anyway.

Yes, I can show you, nut first I have to find it...
It's in my old laptop. with some other edits, some also that DW used for his Mai version.

I like the idea of giving her an aternate design.
I first thought about something like that by using CS, but it would be a lot of work ^^;

No, this is my own version of Mai in my MvC x Z2 hybrid style. And she's gonna have a mix design. Plus, I don't like how some of her sprites in Divinewolf's version are constructed, like her double kick, her air butt attack, and her umbrella victory.

You are right about Yagami's Mai being offline. Is there an alternative download?

There is Shiranui-ryuu: Kubi no Kitsune and Hou'ou no Mai. I was thinking about commissioning her Neo Max from XIII, but I can use existing sprites and ones from the attack above so that's gone.

Edit: Her wall jump I also want to commission. And I saw a gif of her from FF3 performing a stomp.

I'm curious to know what you aim for her design.

Interesting that about these 3 moves, and few other. They are in my list of what I want to update on her.
But I will update Ragin Rowen edit or simply DW version. This is not a priority project, but I'm going to do it in the future...

Actually I already make her "air butt attack" somewhere in 2007-2009, but Divine Wolf doesnt needed it since he already had sprites for it.

I'm preparing another sprite pack for a commission, this time it's for Mai Shiranui. While I was looking MUGEN videos of Mai, I saw a thumbnail of Mai from one of the 2 games mentioned in the title of this thread attacking with her butt, and I decided to add that to her character.

Do you guys have sprites from either game?

(Note: I'm not gonna make the commission yet, I'm just preparing sprites)

I'm curious about it.
Are you going to add it to DW Mai / Raging Rowen Edit ?
Also are you talking of her 3D/Z axis move (the one she do from background) If so, I'm pretty sure anamochi version of RB1 Mai have this move.

I have no memories of Mai "using her butt" in any Non-Kof game.

Besides of that, Hiram Yagami gave his RB2 type Mai some hip attack move. (I'm not sure of this information)

Wow! I'm speechless ! This is TRUELY awesome !

Only 3 things I would tweak:

1-The hat shape is a little strange. (perhap too high or too big.)
I would recommand to take The "common" delta red POTS version of Cammy as a base for the hat shape.


I think it's based on "Psycho Weapon (MB-00) – Spec Ops" by Ethan Lives (Brazil Mugen Team)
And they did a great work with the hat.

2-Her legs looks slightly too short (certainly because of position)
But still I noticed it.

3-armpit area (shading looks a bit strange for Alpha style)

Beside of it this is PERFECT to me.

Back to coding.
I try to fix some slash explod from a special attack.

Let me explain:

1000 = special move
1030 = ex special move

1002 = special move landing
1003 = ex special move landing

without -2 code, the explod stay if the move is interrupted.

With the code I tried in -2, the effect blinks in a weird way.
Seems like the coding hesitate to display it or not.

I think my code structure have a problem, can you guys help me fix it ?

Here is my dream MUGEN character list:

* Some more Kinnikuman Muscle Fight characters. The existing complete characters (Werewood's Kinnikuman, SUGIO's Brocken Jr., FUJY's Akuma Shogun and The Magic Toaster's Cubeman and Prisman) are all kinds of awesome with impressive moves and fun gameplay. Werewood planned to make more characters (Terryman, Robin Mask, Brockenman, Ashuraman, Buffaloman, Ramenman, Warsman, Meat-kun, and a Throne arc Kinnikuman), but he disappeared from the Earth before he could finish them. Imagine how hype a Neptuneman, Super Phoenix or Strong the Budo character could be in Saltybet! Similarly, someone should make characters out of his Stroheim (HTTF styled with EOH voices) and Cobra sprite rips from the same game.

* A proper, non-JUS, non-spriteswapped version of Narancia from JoJo. Every other member of Team Bucciaratti has been made except for him, which is kind of a glaring omission in my eyes. Either a Capcom HTTF styled character with inspiration from the PS2 Vento Aurou game and ASB, or a plain old ASB character like amarimano's recent characters would be fine in my book. Maybe the Torture Dance could work as a winpose or a Shun Goku Satsu-styled hyper combo?

* Simularly, a non-JUS, non-spriteswapped version of Gappy, aka Josuke Part 8 from JoJo. With amarimano's recent release of Jolyne, he's the only JoJo not available in MUGEN.

* A CPS1 SF2 Balrog/Boxer based on his Hyper Fighting moveset. We only have a boss version from World Warrior and a SSF2T version out there. With KAZ's HSF2 Dhalsim out, he's the only character left without a CPS1 version available for mugen.

* Choujin-styled versions of these DBZ characters:
** Super Vegeta (Using the sprites from the arcade DBZ2)
** Gogeta (Using the Shin Butoden sprites)
** SSJ3 Goku (Using the Shin Butoden sprites)
** Kid Buu (Using the Ultimate Butoden sprites)
** Beerus (Using the Ultimate Butoden sprites)
** SSG Goku (Using either heavily edited DBZ arcade sprites or the Extreme Butoden sprites)
** Android 13 (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)
** Tapion (Using the custom Butoden-esque sprites of Team OS)

Didnt finished that Yoh sprite, but i practiced artwork to sprite graphics a little, and this took some time, but honestly it was really fun

The process is do is that i jump between Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint, as a matter of fact, most  of the graphic editing that isnt image scaling and color indexing and palette manipulation is done on CSP, particularly because of the custom pixel brushes i gotten from the Clip Studio Assets page, and its so comfy that i dont mind switching betwen programs due to CSP not really having color indexing and palette management, i want to believe this is the same process that Capcom, and perhaps even SNK did to translate artwork to pixels.

But i been realizing quite a lot about how this is not sprite art mainly because the entire picture has wider dimensions then any usual screen display or stuff like that, and its becoming a huge mess with hipsters and such people, i even saw someone spriting a sailormoon artwork and getting crap for it.

very nice I'm curious to see these "pixel brushes" in action...

Your update is really awesome!
This work of pixel art is really fitting the CVS style.

I would have not "flatten" his shoulder this way. I prefered when it was "rounder". It looked better to me.
But other elements are just perfect!

This is AOF2 accurate. Accuracy can be ugly sometimes I know. :P But here because we have stages of different sizes and all while in AOF2 it's hardly noticeable. The neutral jumping is also affected.

Yes, neutral as well, but it looks less "weird" to me.
So this is for acuracy ! good!

I knew it cannot just be an error ;)

Basically characters like Gato, Kevin, Freeman...


Also about your POTS KFM, I think it would not be so hard to sprite him with POTS edited Takuma + CVS Joe's head...
Still nedd to find some motivated coder.

The select system of character version at "coded versus screen" is not in this game.
So you cannot select character varation after selecting them.
It actually is

you just use up and/or down to select an variation, and like always it works for a handful of chars

Oh.
I tried many. To me only the screen looks like the version selection, but nothing happens.

I will try again with up and down
