for what its worth, shun ei is snks interpretation of modern chinese youth aesthetics. its clear that its popular with the market is designed for considering all the art, and the cosplay and that a random chinese user quite literally made an ENTIRE KOF XIII shaded spriteset in mugen. thats, alot, of time dedicated to a brand new character. you can see his type of clothing styles reflected in a ton of other chinese media like other games, shows, clothing lines, etc.

he is the main character of a part-chinese franchise now after all, so atleast he has that going for him

also lol karma, that user sounds unreasonably angry at a fashion choice, its hilarious. but yes, that person is right, its based on the specific fashion choices i talked about above.



i personally think his design is dumb as heck but thats just me. atleast his moveset is fun!

I REALLY didnt like the surprise at the end. It felt cheap and totally took the sails from the main cast. I really just didn't like how they had to resort to using *that* as the way to resolve things. It swept up the tension built from the previously set up narrative issue all for fanservice. Meh.

Everything else was great and that post credits scene was a nice touch.

From the list you gave, Shion and Oswald all the fuggin way.

Espeically since they both have highly unique, yet distinct movesets that provide different types of playstyles in their own way.

Shion from Kof Xi would be my suggestion


He's insanely versatile with two full stances, an incredibly diverse and fun moveset (especially for a SNK Boss) and is a relatively niche pick, so it could provide some variety to your portfolio of characters.

Has fantastic animations to mess around with and ideally it would teach you a few new things code-wise.

The latest Musou games (One Piece Musou 4, Warriors Orochi 4, Persona Musou) have been insanely fun due to their increased emphasis on movement and chaotic action so I am extremely hyped for this since they're gonna apply all the lessons they've learned over the years into this game

which uses the buttery smooth BOTW engine

is canon

and lets me play as Mipha
