-The great Japanese Mugen collapse: I don't believe a proper name was ever established for this, but the shutdown of Geocities, Yahoo Japan and InfoSeek (and probably some other hosts I've forgotten) resulted in many, many, many, MANY Japanese Mugen creators losing their hosting.  I seriously cannot emphasize enough how scary this was at the time, because the Japanese community hadn't really adopted file sharing sites for their content the way we did in the West.  Some of them did eventually start using things like OneDrive and other uploading services (and still do to this day) but many others would be lost if not for the Wayback Machine and people having already downloaded their content.  We narrowly avoided a digital Library of Alexandria burning.

looks like in the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, characters in X-Men COTA will also have their movesets from their latest version till Marvel vs. Capcom 2 like Storm is able to perform her Hail Storm which was newly added move from her X-Men vs. Street Fighter onwards:

I can't imagine gouki will have his sgs and two other of his hyper moves from x-men vs. street fighter to marvel vs. capcom 2 and that made him become not a ryu+ken anymore

Notably, this is known to be eventually getting ported to consoles, but they said that when the game was initially announced in 2019 so who knows if that's still happening.

If I remember, something similar happened with BlazBlue? Either ways, this is absolutely pathetic. MUGEN's ToS literally states that you can not use MUGEN commercially, this is ridiculous.

If they put Kain in the trailer, I imagine they would have put Grant, so at this point I'll assume he's not making it. It's looking like they put mostly the returning characters, and I don't supposed they'd have left more returning characters out of that trailer
so it looks to me like Grant, Freeman and the Kim kids are getting the cut (and maybe Hokutomaru if that older voice with Mai and Jenet isn't him). I imagine they didn't want to put two Kims, and they didn't want to put one and not the other, so maybe they'll just come up with a new Taekwondo character to replace all of them.

Mandy Rose has been released by WWE due to constant arguing over her posting lewd pictures of herself. From the sounds of it, it was also the reason she was moved away from Raw since she does have a website we're she does post pictures of herself. Anyway you hate to hear about stuff like this.

The world of fighting games needs more totally absurd "what the fuck" level guest characters lol and we need to embrace that, no matter how stupid it is.

There's a reason why these crossovers don't work anymore. Just look at KOF All Star for an example. After bringing in Tekken characters, they dominated the scene for multiple seasons, Kazuya being the culprit. The systems are too different. SNK games (and Street Fighter) rely on meters, jumps, long stringy combos to win. Also, games like KOF rely on three teammates while Street Fighter require lots of cancels (more than KOF even).
