Hopefully it won't be too much of a nuisance, to implement a few parameters within the platform coding, that allow players to trigger different states based on the ledge distance or position;

Hi! I got a question:

I've been told that Ikemen allows for actual platform coding. So in search for more info, I've only managed to find this section of the State controllers page, in the GitHub wiki:

Specifies the angle to rotate the Projectile animation.

So, does it mean those parameters can be actually functional inside the engine's current build? If so, could you give a bit more info on what's required to proper implement it?

I'm making a full game that has it's core mechanics centered around stage interactivity. Having a more adjustable platform system would be the decisive point for me to fully move my project from Mugen to Ikemen. :)

I've been pondering about the possibility of using Ikemen quite a few times, as it has some really cool features that would suit the style of this project.

Do you know where I can find more info about the platform implementation planned for it? Knowing about it would be the decisive point for me to fully migrate to Ikemen, honestly. That could potentially make things so much easier...! :ninja:



I've been holding up the news for a bit, so that I could show more actual progress - currently doing some tweaks and fixes to the platform system, as well as coding a couple of new stages;


But here's something potentially interesting, and that I can already show before the actual updates:

And yeah, the left hand definitely sticks out more if only the legs get a change on the shading style. So I went ahead and updated it as well; along with a slight change on the palette contrast to accomodate everything.

Thank you so much for the feedback! This was a fun exercise overall. (1st time I try to truly emulate the CPS2 style from the ground up)

I mean, yeah, perhaps because of the 2nd outline tone, I ended up making it sorta like a mid-point between Mega Man and the other MvC fighters. But he looks quite fine this way too, I guess.

About the legs shading - that's the result of me being reluctant of changing too much from the references I've got. And also, I thought maybe the giant hand that's right in from of his leg would actually help even out the lighting difference between them? Although yeah, the more I look into that I see it doesn't really need to be a factor, within the CPS2 style of shading.


But yo, what about this one?

You're missing the point. Mortal Kombat characters didn't have the same gameplay for several games now, all those characters you mentioned play absolutely nothing like they did in their previous playable appearance.

You can kinda say the same for SFV as well. Call their DLC choices bland, weird or annoying, but you can't deny that pretty much all of them, even the returners, aways had at least a handful of new moves that drastically sets their gameplay apart from the base roster - and even their own selves in previous games.

In the case of KOFXV, we can already tell from both their history within previous entries, as well as what's been already shown in the trailers, that pretty much any returning character from now on will be a "modernized" port of their previous appearance, design and gameplay-wise.



And by the way - this is basically why I'm *still* not impressed with what KOFXV have been shown so far, even after their biggest trailer;

2 brand new characters out of 30 other ones that look and play basically the same as they've ever been... That just isn't enough for me, I'm sorry.

This site helped me a lot of times... but for some weird reason it just doesn't load anymore to me, and it keeps like this for quite a few months now. Doesn't work on PC, nor the phone either.

In very few cases I can be lucky enough to find what I want using backups from the WayBack Machine. But, of course, most of the time it just doesn't have everything archived, leaving me with no practical options at all.

Is it only me having this weird curse? If so, then I would like to ask for a little help: could someone just reupload this speciffic sprite sheet?
