Beautiful screenshot. I was thinking of using that at some point for one of our games, just minus the custom select screen portraits since that would be a lot of work to do for nearly 50+ chars lol. I'll take a look at that roster though.

For POTS from what I played I would suggest the following in no particular order.
DivineWolf
Jman
Karma
Victorys (has made several solid chars)
Knuckles
Cruz
Tiffany by Rhythmical
DeathScythe's Akuma and Ingrid.
Froz BIson ( I personally dont like his Urien but his Gill is solid)
ReddBrink has made a cool Haggar and Rugal.
Can Vyn's Rock, Rugal and Terry be bunched up here as they are POTSish ?

I just added DeathScythe's Akuma last night actually. His (or her?)'s Akuma is pretty good actually. There was lot of intricate little details that people usually dont notice that was put into this Akuma, but I noticed it. I'll have to look into those other names you mentioned like Cruz, Victorys, and ReddBrink.

Yeah, I think Vyn can be generally acceptable.

The idea is to start small with a 20 character base roster of POTS and CvS2 characters. Those would be:

Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Cammy, Dictator
Kyo, Iori, Terry, Mai, Rugal

But for thematic rosters like this, I think you guys should be more open to reject stuff and offer alternatives when the things just don't match either of the styles.

Yeah I agree, having a base roster sounds pretty fair and logical, and then add a few additional ones upon the request of the fighters.

One thing I am struggling with currently is what to do when there's multiple good POTS versions of the same char, but from different authors? For example if DivineRock was suggested but another player has a personal attachment to Vyn Rock. I even had a guy say remove classic POTS Ryu and add Edit 187 Memo or something like that. I've had 3 or 4 different Terry recommended by different people but I tried to tell them KC's is the best.

While I do believe everyone's personal feelings are valid, there has to be an absolute or definitive version for the characters. Like hands down one has to be the best, most balanced, and most accurate. Otherwise, we've been in previous situations before where people wanted 5 different Akuma and Ryu's just because they had a personal attachment to that particular one. Lol

The situation gets a little complicated, because at some point people will say "all truths are subjective" "your truth is different from my truth" "your best version of a char is not the best version for me" and this is even after someone spent 100% of an effort to datamine the best version available lol.

The next thing I need to figure out is an easy way to cater to the fighters. we've had a habit of filling up the roster full of characters, but the like half of the roster was only suggestions and at no point did some of these people suggesting chars ever say they were interested in playing or committing to being an active player. So I had to delete a lot of requests over time because some people who thought they would play based on their suggestions ended up never showing up. basically, some people who requested chars were mostly only intersted in spectating, and then some fighters who fight were only interested in specific chars that cater their needs. God, just shoot me already Haha

Hello, I'm in search of improving our roster for CvS2 vs POTS. I've already started the process of removing chain combos for a lot of the infinite chars, and fixing the frame data so that it either matches CvS2 or CFJ.

We would love to hear your suggestions on who we can add to the roster. Mainly right now I'm looking for good POTS characters to fill up the roster. I've heard of RagingRowen, Trololo, Karma C, DivineWolf, Jmorphman, classic POTS, and 4 million other edits. Would love to hear your suggestions.

We're also looking for more fighters too. If you're interested in joining as a fighter, feel free to tell us who you want to use to fight. Thanks.

Hello, just outta boredom I decided to datamine PoTS' classic ShinGouki.

What did I do?

Gave him CvS2 CLSNs makeover, although some normals are incomplete, but pretty much 90% done.
Gave him updated variable height code from using the CvS2.CT dataminer tool
Gave him the Play Anim/Time Offset
Updated Gethits and default idle stand.crouch,jump CLSNs

Fixed a few normals. Back then POTS didn't know that some normals were active for 2-3 different frames, so whichever normals I fixed, it's been adjusted. Could use some more work, but I think this is pretty good.

Hey PeXXeR, good to see you. If I'm understanding your statement correctly, we do in fact preserve each video after each livestream, just in case some people miss it! That includes all previous streams as well for our other tourneys.

I totally agree with KC.

If anybody out there wants to design their own hitboxes, before they even learn the art of drawing their own CLSNs, they have to at least learn the foundation of datamining first before drifting away from the nucleus. This is to 1) educate oneself and 2) get experience in this art. And simply looking at the SRK wiki isn't enough, SRK wiki only provides active hitting boxes, but they don't provide ANY data for frames when you dash, run, gethits, punishing/recovery frames, etc

And it's true; some attacks where you may think the CLSNs should be aligned to what visually appears on the sprite, is not always as it may seem. Sometimes, the CLSNs are not even aligned to that character's punch or kick. Take Rock's j.MK in CvS2 for example. It was designed for functionality over visuals. And this is only basically scraping the surface. There's a lot more stuff you find along the way.

Just my opinion of course.

Hello, I wanted to just report some stuff about Cloud.

1) He has a super where, if I'm still blocking and he mashes that super (preceded by a special + super combo cancel), despite me blocking, I'll somehow get hit, even though I DID block.







2) As you can see, you gave Cloud "godlike" hitboxes, but you made it impossible to trade hits. And if Cloud misses the hit, you made it nearly impossible to punish. In most CvS2 / CFJ games, when you miss a special, there's still at least 1 or 2 frames your character is vulnerable and punishable, with a large extended blue hurtbox (CLSN2) for people who genuinely blocked and wanna punish. What you should do is fix that. If you're going to give him amazing attack priority, you need to at least put way more blue CLSN2's to follow it. What you did, was after the attack, you shrank his CLSN2 punishing frame incredibly smaller than the attack (in the last screenshot), so it's nearly impossible to punish. No Capcom games operate like this, or if it does, it's on rare occassion.

3) Nearly all of your "level 1 supers" are instant startup. Meaning that they are even quicker than a DP. Why does Meteor Rain spawn instantly? No level 1 super should spawn instantly. It needs at least a 5 frame startup. You are giving your level 1 supers the ability to hit instantly, but in original Capcom games only level 3 supers have that kind of priority. (Sometimes level 2)

I'm currently working on an optimized Animation file for Cloud, I'm not necessarily nerfing him, I'm just giving some of the default, run, walk, whiffed punishing frames, more accurate-like Capcom behavior. I'll post it here when I am done.

Did you look at the new features? If you download a fresh copy of IKEMEN GO, open up the system.def, there's a ton of new features that say "IKEMEN FEATURE" that mugen does not have. It's very important you do that. You gotta look at the fight.def and system.def to import some new features, and also some new sprites. Look into the fight.sff and system.sff, there's new sprites like the "ratio mode numbers" that does not exist in mugen.

Literally thousands of Asians in California (statewide) are standing with other minorities and ethnic groups to fight against radical communistic ideologies, and yet some random guy on a mugen forum is gonna tell me these people that I met know nothing about what they are talking about? San Francisco sucks though... you guys got lawlessness, people shop lifting in huge amounts, even Target (or Walgreens I forget) had to nerf their curfew times so they dont get jacked. You guys got a sucky mayor and a sucky DA. Asians being attacked and robbed, their livelihoods being destroyed. Homelessness everywhere, smells bad, looks bad... not the same SF I knew growing up in the Bay. And no... anything Chinese does not equate to communism. If that was the case, then the hundreds of California Chinese that I met would not be rallying against communism. Why would they protest or rally against themselves?

Not every states in the US is the same. Some states in the West Coast tend to be pro-communist for some reason. In California, one of the most diverse states in the entire nation..... has a huge density of Koreans, Japanese, Filipinos, Vietnamese, and Chinese (and more) who are more than happy to voice their concerns for California's local politicians who are turning the state into a pro-communist sanctuary. A lot of these Asian-Americans or Asian-Immigrants are very vocal about their PTSD regarding anything communist, some are even local activists still fighting for their home country.

From an outsider's perspective, it's hard to conceptualize that communism has and been slowly introduced into some states, like California. It does not mean the state is full on communist, which is probably what you are thinking, but it is considerably more pro-communist than the rest of the states.

Anyways, I am not too sure if Blizzard is a communist company or not, but I do find it ironically very funny that if it's true, it would be like the people are suing themselves.
