Basicaly the only reason why I havent even thought to make Master Kenji (because he sure has the moves :D) is because I just always use yours. The update seems solid after playing more with it yestrday on my free time. I didn't bother to check AI tweaks as you mentioned because I play with Kenji. Great job.
Thanks for the feedback. The less bugs the more time I can invest in working on something new. But honestly, feel free to work on a Master Kenji if you want. To me, the more character variations to choose from the better. I'm sure many people will dig what you have in store for a Master Kenji.

@mugenload: It was the way they were ripped, unfortunately, for the scaling's off on certain sprites. Contemplating on re-ripping them myself and updating with less pixelated sprites, but that's only if I can find the time.

@LaQuak: Thanks, man. Just trying to stay active during my busy schedule with family and work. Same here, you got a good thing going on with your works. I thought your Master Ken was pretty cool   ;)

What was supposed to be a quick fix in late January turned into a bigger-than-expected update where many elements from Red Earth were implemented into my characters. Update Log is pretty extensive, so I'll mention some of the main points, and those interested can check the readme for the other changes and updates made.

WHAT'S BEEN DONE?
--------------------
-Added Red Earth-style Throw Escape/Recover system
-Added Red Earth-style Button Mashing system
-Revised Combo Damage Reduction coding
-Updated Defense system and included other defensive traits from Red Earth, such as Resistance and Willpower
-Tweaked/Added/Revised triggers for AI
-Tweaked Ultimate Guard and lowered invincibility time for all Ultimate Counters
-Tweaked/Fixed many CLSNs
-Updated and added extra options in the Config.txt

No more updates for awhile until the release of the next character(s) later this year. Still, please report any bugs or issues found. And as always...enjoy!

@Cybaster: Thanks for the compliment  :) . I'll see if I can make a better small portrait, this time through Photoshop. As for Chou Fujinken not knocking down, I'll have to check Warzard again, for I'm still under the impression that it doesn't  :S

@The Return of the Revenge of Darth Joestar Strikes Back : Sorry you don't like Tessa  :( . Some people love her, others don't. I can't please everyone...all I can do is sit down and make her as solid as I can coding-wise and gameplay-wise for my project. Thank you for your opinion, though.

-Fixed getpower issue with Tricicle Edge, Tricicle Blade, Tricicle Hatchete, and Lvl 3 Hyper Cannon
-Increased staff's cornerpush during jumping version of Pop Wand
-Fixed issue where LP -> Walk back pattern would keep opponent pinned down

Patch file in the first post, while main file's been updated as well at my page.

The holiday season is here and everyone's giving out presents of all sorts. Here's a few presents from me to all in the Mugen community.

MAI-LING (TAO): FINAL MIX

The latest character of the Final Mix label. Originally was gonna release her as a surprise with Tessa at the same time, but had to put her on the shelf to work on some other last minute projects.
Based off of her Red Earth/Warzard persona (but not accurate), while featuring extra stuff to boot.

WHAT'S DONE?!?
-All sprites
-All sounds
-All original moves + new moves
-AI implemented (big thanks to Iron Fist on this)
-Configuration text file included

Pretty much complete, but will probably get updated to fix any bugs and/or update the coding for the sake of my project.

KENJI (MUKURO): FINAL MIX

-Alot of recoding was done in many areas concerning his moves, mechanics, and gameplay.
-Alot of optimizing was done to cut down his file size as well as to utilize more advanced coding as a means to improve my coding skills.
-Certain moves got revised for the better
-AI and a config text file have now been added, while Kenji's coding have been splitted up into serveral files, so for those who have this character it's best to delete the old version first before adding this to you mugen.

TESSA (TABASA): FINAL MIX

-Like with Kenji, there was alot of recoding to try and improve on just about every aspect concerning her
-Cloning issues with her flasks were also an issue, but in the long run they were resolved
-Along with revising some of her moves, Tessa gains new moves as well
-AI and a config text file have been added, while her coding have also been splitted into separate files like Kenji (again, delete the old version before adding this to your mugen)
-Basically this is the version of Tessa I wanted to put out earlier this year, and not the rushed version

Still a few things I need to do to get them just right, but overall Kenji and Tessa are ready for an updated release.

Please refer to each characters' readme and movelist files to learn more about what's been done and how to play as them. Feel free to post any bugs & feedbacks as well.

Download links are on my page at InfinityWiki: http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/infinity.wiki/mediawiki/index.php?title=Sabaki

Re: CVS2 Rolento by Warusaki 3 Released!

avatar  Posted by cray  in CVS2 Rolento by Warusaki 3 Released! (Started by Nero D. November 18, 2009, 07:56:51 PM

Quick translation....

CvS Rolento was requested by a guy by the name of BD. Took a while, but Waru has made him. Some stuff about this Rolento:

1) He's a mobile character, for many of his moves evolve around mobility
2) Moves from SFA like his lynching super's in
3) Knives will not collide with/be destroyed by other characters' attacks

As for the other characters....

1) Fixing Combo resetting
2) Fixing the timing for Kara Cancelling
3) Fixing the timing for Super Cancelling for all characters so that you can do this (according to each character's gameplay, of course) during taunts, Super Combos/Moves, Guard Cancel attacks, etc....However, this doesn't include Super Throws if I'm not mistaken
4) Final Vega (M.Bison in the West) has gotten a slight power boost
5) Hibiki has a special intro vs Rolento
6) Various tweaks to specific characters
7) Bug fixes, etc.

On another note, seems like Waru's gonna omit AI from all his characters from the next update onward, since so many people are making AI and people are using them, making there to be no need to have a default AI (made by Waru) along with an AI patch by another AI maker.

From a coding perspective, it can be a fun learning experience. For example, putting a character together from scratch, and taking the time to animate it, have it be controlled, and respond to other characters is quite satisfying. Plus learning new coding to accomplish new things or just to implement something different (i.e. adding the ability to fly, etc.) can be rewarding.

We translated it in the other thread. O Illusionista said to update the file "that has been released" with it and I don't even see that piece of text in the released english file. What's up with that?
I thought the same thing. Apparently the Updater has its own LNG file and if you check that folder you'll find the English and Portugese text files are there. Guess there needs to be a separate update for the Updater to useother language files as well.

When I go to edit a color on a palette, the words are in Japanese  o_O .

I know that some programs adapt the language based on the make of your computer (yes, I'm using a Japanese computer), but FF has never done this in the past. While this isn't a problem for me, I would've thought that the the language files would prevent that.

cray,

just checking in to see if the sprite thing i brought up was addressed with psylocke.
Unfortunately, no. I hasd someone test a new .SFF I edited over the weekend but the square still appeared. I'm gonna go through the whole .SFF again and start renumbering Group no. and sprite numbers to see if that will help. I'll fix this, for sure.

Yeah, apparently everyone who uses EVE screenpack has that issue with a random sprite appearing. Been going through the .sff and .cns this morning and trying to locate the issue.

PSYLOCKE :
- Small portrait is not the correct size.
- CLSNs need complete revamping. Please follow K.O.D's tutorial about how to do collision boxes. There are far too many of them.
- Didn't check for all, but some supers give back power to Psylocke.
- Messages such as "Danger" shouldn't be affect by PalFX (for example, if Psylocke is getting burnt, the "Danger" message shouldn't appear orange).
- She shouldn't be invincible during evasive roll. You should put CLSNs and use NotHitBy, still making her throwable.
- Hayate No Jutsu -> Cascade Rush has a very strange binding when Psylocke grabs the opponent. He strangely teleports in another position when she catches him.
- Illusion would look much better with a fade to Black effect.
- Generally speaking, I don't like most super portraits you (Infinity Team) use. They often have Jpeg artifatcs.

-Yeah, you're right. I think that's the size for the SMvC: EOH screenpack. I'll add another one.
-I'll check the CLSNs again, for when I 1st did them I was still under the impression that they had to be defined accurately to each part of the body. Recently I learned that they don't, but I've been lazy to checking all my characters and changing them for manually adding & fixing CLSNs take so much time  :P
-I could've sworn I added getpower = 0 to all her hitdefs. I'll check again.
-I'll add ownpal = 1 to the explods.
-For evasive roll, I think I only made her invincible for around 10 ticks with a Nothitby and a PlayerPush for her to go by the opponent. It doesn't have any CLSNs? Time to redo that, then.
-Binding for Cascade Rush was abit iffy, I won't lie. I think it's because of thw way I did the Targebind to have her align with the opponent in case near a corner or something. I'll see if I can redo it.
-Hmm, I'll take that into consideration....
- o_O...I really do like the updated portrait I added, though....

Thanks for the feedback. I'll get to work on these soon  :)

@.(O). : Thanks for the feedback. Well, the character is pretty solid for a first release, but yes there are some things missing. A few others have mentioned about more symbiote-type moves for the basics, so DT and are have discussed about it. He's gonna try to have some new things so that Wolvenom will be further different from Wolverine without ruining the gameplay. Making him more wilder & crazier has been on my mind, and I'm still working on some concepts to achieve that. For example, currently moves like Beserker Barrage and Tornado Claw now have finisher-type of followups, but I'm thinking about changind how the original moves work as well, like make the look of Tornado Clow change to comething else than just spinning his body like Wolverine. Speed of his throws has been mentioned to me as well, so I'll also work on that. Sprite alignment was one of the hardest part concerning Wolverine, since he's small and generally leaving the ground for his attacks. I'll look into alignment a little better. As for fixing up the fluidity of some of his symbiote-related animations, I'll pass the message to DT.

@zvitor: You deleted your version? Hmm, I figured maybe one day you'd add some stuff to yours and maybe speak with DT about releasing yours.

@Zelgius: Yeah, the current one is supposed just "jump at you", but we're aware it doesn't follow the standards. I'll add another small portrait in the update...just for you  :)

@God's Anger: This is DT's first stage iirc, and he did try to get it out as quickly as possible. The idea for the stage is from one of The Avengers comics, where Dr. Doom dropped a Symbiote Bomb on the world. Some of the future plans he has are to have the characters animated as well as fix any bugs and inconsistencies. In any event, I'll deliver the message to him.

Thanks again for the feedback everyone. If there are any bugs or feedback, please post them.

Updated the 1st post with links.
