Fair warning: He is very different from the previous version so I put the older version in an extra folder in case somebody regrets their update lol.

I expect more bugs or infinites than usual cuz ive done a few new things so, all feedback is welcome as usual.

Important Notes:
- Remade almost all effects.
- Reduced filesize by about 2/3
- New balance and combos
- Simplified moveset, mostly inspired by sfiv
- SFV sound effects
- Cleaned up his voice
- Remade system effects
- Changed parry for just defend
- Added powercharge
- Added v-trigger
- Added SFV style damage dampener
- Should be fully 1.0 compatible, better in 1.1 though.
- Meant to be played in widescreen mode

I use VSelect to manage my select screen, but noticed back then with KoopaKoot's Takuma that the character would crash VSelect. The same problem occurs with King.

At the time of Takuma's release, I got in touch with the application's creator, Tunglashor, and he said that it's a problem with the way sprite files are saved by the software used to create the character (Fighter Factory Studio).  He eliminated the issue by opening and resaving the character using a different editor (e.g. an older version of Fighter Factory) and sent me the SFF. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a hold of him to find out which older version of FF did he use to solve the issue.

To those who couldn't get Shell.exe running, try changing your system locale to Chinese (Simplified).

and is iori only have 2 alt cause there's a third circle on the character select but i can't select the third one.

With Shell.exe, you can then change the game to different screenpacks that gives you access to EX-Iori (and EX-Kyo). Alternatively, you can also edit the select screen inside the shell to add characters to slots, which you can launch into training mode directly from shell.
For arcade mode, however, you'll need to be using the right screenpack.

This game is extremely well made. The creator did an amazing job and I can see why it took so long. Just out of curiosity though, what is the "shell.exe" used for? The mugen.exe runs the game fine, so I'm confused as to what the shell.exe is used for.

Shell.exe can be opened after changing the system locale to Chinese (Simplified). I believe that the application is only in that language.
What it does is to allow you to adjust the aesthetics of the game, including:
1. Screenpack
  • The last version of KOFW (Test 2.02, I believe)
  • KOFZ
  • Allstar (The default screenpack)

2. Hitsparks
  • XIII
  • XI
  • NBC
  • '03
  • '02
  • '98

3. Resolution
4. Volume
5. Unlimited health and power bars
6. Others, such as round duration, achievements, Athena randomly changing costumes on every special move, and a costume burst KO option for female fighters ala Art of Fighting and KOF '94 (which I couldn't get to work when I tried it... for science).

It also has move lists for all the characters and enables you to add fighters to the select screen in the shell, which you can launch training mode from directly by selecting those fighters (thus allowing you to select fighters not available on certain screenpacks, but only in training mode).

Overall it's an amazing companion to what is already an amazing game.

This is still by far my favourite KOF full game on MUGEN. I've been scouring Chinese forums hoping to see the day it gets updated :)
I realize that some characters are only available by changing the screenpacks (KOF 03 Kyo, XIII Iori, Kusanagi, etc). Do you know Vanny's rational behind that? The characters don't appear in the all star screen pack even if I edit them in via the shell.

I had a problem with Sakura crashing Mugen 1.1 at the last hit of Shoryuken.
Interestingly, despite not knowing what the issue was, it seemed to have been resolved in the newest update! Congratulations!

Being able to actually play her for the first time, I noticed this.

Position is off, right?

Knee Press does feel much better. However, I can't seem to perform the KPN finisher.
Also, personal preference, but I would have preferred EX Psycho Banish to stay (for it to be a simply faster version).

I am having the same issue. The new snd file doesn't help at all. The only way I can get it running on my Mugen 1.0 is to ignore the sound file line in the def.
However, I tried inserting him into CvTW and that worked without an issue.

^happened with someone else as well, don't know if they solved it, if not try the Roger Smith sound patch by Zaibatsu (in link below)

Just curious, his cyclone/tornado special can link to itself via wallbounce, it's a bit tricky to do it against himself, but I tried it against CM Punk and it was easier. Not a game breaker or anything, it can do a hefty bit of damage though, I don't think it can link together more than twice at least.

I actually didn't like it so much.
To me, it was the X-Men: The Last Stand of the God of War franchise. GOW had a lot of clones (Ghost Rider, Conan, Heavenly Sword, X-Men Origins, to name a few. And of course, Dante's Inferno), but this game just felt like another God of War clone. It had Kratos, the voice, the Gods, Zeus, Athena, but something was just missing.
I remember God of War 2 had me in awe when the trailer showed Kratos kicking open a door and revealing three giant horses leading a chariot, and in the game I found out I can actually walk onto each of them as part of a puzzle. Also, the Sisters of Fate were a key element to the game and it was really satisfying to finally find them and... do what you had to with them.

GOW3 just had Kratos going up to Mount Olympus, spend some time there, drop in to see Hades, head to City of Olympia (which is pretty much a similar view as Mount Olympus).

It had good graphics, fluid animations, and as Kotaku mentioned in their review, the first 10 minutes were amazing.
A lot of people liked the Hades fight, but I didn't feel much for it.

Great sprite work so far. Animation is fluid and proportionate.
However, one of the concerns I have is that his actions such as jumping, walking, and running involves Kratos not holding his blades. As there doesn't seem to be animations of him putting them away, it appears awkward.

I am guessing the decision was made to look his weapons switching mechanic look more natural. In that case, perhaps he shouldn't be holding the blades in his stance, but only when he attacks do the blades go into his hands.

KUSANAGI is a clone. He doesn't seem to be inferior.  :)

I always thought Kusanagi was created by Chizuru in 2003 or something and technically not a clone.
Kyo-1 and Kyo-2 on the other hand...
