In either case you'll be "sacrificing" one of the resources. I'd prefer cloning the sound here than using a var. Variables are limited, you never know when you'll run out of it. Sounds are not.

Your AI is very pleasant to play against. Although AI isn't considered a necessity, I think it's important because if everyone decided not to code AI then you'd have a whole roster of reaction-less opponents especially if you don't have a buddy to play against. Speaking of which, haven't seen you in creation mode for a while now. Anything new in the works?

I always take a special care when coding AI on my chars because I too play against the CPU most of the time. Glad that you like it!

2) POTS himself, Jmorphman, KarmaCharmeleon. These are the only good POTS creators. Everyone else is not worth your time.

Agree! Knuckles8864, Froz, Trololo, they are all thrash! How can someone like their characters?! Guys please stop making POTS style chars, they are so bad!

Hello friend, and welcome to the forum!

- Is your character folder (not zip) inside the "chars" folder?
- Is the .def of your character the same name as the folder itself? (Example, folder name is "Jotaro", .def file is "Jotaro.def")
- Are you editing the right file? The select.def inside the data folder?

Other than that there is no secret about it.

Hi, I don't know if this was reported already or even if you're still working on this, but:
Variation sometimes acts weird. It shows the character correctly in the select screen, but when I select them and the fight starts, it's another character. Not sure what is causing this and is not all the time, sometimes it works correctly, sometimes it doesn't.

That's actually an interesting topic.

Speaking of AI, I was thinking about this a while ago, maybe some authors code their AI in a way that they forget not everyone is a fighting game expert. I'm one of those, I just play for fun and I'm far from good at fighting games. So when the AI is just unbeatable, yeah, at the very least if I like the character, I'll prevent them from showing in the arcade mode.

Other than that, buggy characters, walking on mid air, crashing mugen, freezing mugen, sound effects too loud, effects too flashy/bright, heavy data loading that slows down the game, and so on. Always trying to avoid these.

O pior é que testei ontem, e... não ajudou muito. Continua um lag injogável :/
O jeito vai ser comprar um PC novo (coisa que eu já estou querendo faz um tempo), e até lá continuar usando o MUGEN mesmo.

I remember Fraps being good when I did videos a long time back, but I don't remember if it works with all video modes in 1.0 or only certain ones.

Fraps used to be good, but now is paid and the free version has some annoying limitations... :/

Nunca ocorreu nada assim comigo. Eu geralmente monto meu próprio jogo, baixo os chars e stages que gosto, baixo um screenpack legal e é isso. Dificilmente eu baixo jogos prontos ou compilações. Uma exceção é o Mortal Kombat Project, o original mesmo do Borg117, pra mim aquilo é o ápice de um full game em Mugen.

Por falar nele, eu tive uns probleminhas pequenos na última atualização dele, mas consegui resolver de boas. Era problema novamente com o OpenGL, que veio ativado por padrão e quando eu desativava, algumas coisas bugavam. Por exemplo, stage com elemento parallax + animação só funciona com o OpenGL ligado, se você desativar vai ficar um sprite todo preto. A solução foi transformar a animação em um sprite estático mesmo, sem animação. Tiveram outras coisas menores também que eu arrumei, mas não vale muito a pena falar.

Agora esses outros erros que você comentou eu não lembro de ter acontecido comigo. No máximo tinha um char ou outro que fazia o mugen fechar, mas até aí o problema era do char em questão. Passar coisa do 1.0 pro 1.1 ou usar coisa do WinMUGEN no 1.1 também nunca deu problema.

Sobre o IkemenGo, bom, ele ainda está em fase de testes. O fightfx pelo que eu lembro ainda não tem como "escalar", então efeitos hires ficam grandes mesmo. De resto, não sei por que ele não abre nas suas outras máquinas. Aqui ele abre, e tem hora que laga, tem hora que não laga. Porém ele nunca deu erro, só ficou dropando quadro mesmo. Eu pesquisei no servidor deles no discord e vi umas "dicas" pra melhorar o desempenho dele, vou testar depois.

Já o MUGEN 1.1 (sem usar OpenGL) roda lisinho. Estou usando ele por enquanto. Se eu conseguir estabilizar o Ikemen eu falo aqui.

It depends how authors code their AI.
Some authors make the AI more or less agressive depending on the difficult you set. An example:

trigger1 = (ctrl || StateNo = 52 || (StateNo = [100,101])) && Random < (100 * (AILevel ** 2 / 64.0))

Random in MUGEN is a number from 0 to 999. Rounded to 1000, 100 out of 1000 is 10%. So, in short:
If the difficult is 8, the AI has a 10% chance to use the move;
If the difficult is 4, the AI has a 2.5% chance to use the move;
and so on.

Also this only works on MUGEN 1.0 or above.
