As someone who has had their characters AI patched by Holn on a few occasions, I can assure you that Holn's AI does break the characters to an extent and it seems to break them more the higher you set the AI difficulty in the CMD.
Holn's AI patches have a habit of crouching when guarding standing attacks or projectiles, making it possible to cheese them out via time out if you purposely whiff spam such a move that forces them to guard like this.
The funny part is that Pre-To eventually made their characters into nuke war tier stuff, so, I don't think sensible gameplay was in their mind to begin with. Either you're better off editing them heavily or removing them from your roster unless you enjoy that kind of stuff. Personally, I don't like them, but it's rather the really bad sprinting that turns me off more.

After some procrastinating yet again, I finally release my latest Generation 1 character and my very first Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax character reimagined in my own playstyle. Do note that it's not recommended to scale her up since her FX do not autoscale with the character, lacking Generation 2's autoscaling coding. With that said, hope you enjoy thrashing up the rest of your roster with this ferocious feline.
