Awesome, thanks!

It looks like you're using the outdated version though. I made quite a few changes based on PotS' feedback. Please re-download when you get a chance, for a more polished experience.  :)

It takes some getting used to, but with continued practice you’ll adjust.

You kept your backup inside the zip file, making it twice as large as it should be
Hm, weird. I never even created a backup folder. Probably hit something in Fighter Factory by accident. Archive updated.

You're right. I had the feeling that was the case, but the intensity of your flames threw me off. Maybe you could use an orange-ish theme for his effects like the modern games.
I plan to upres his effects so I may do just that in the process.

These seem like odd choices for that move, but a Sagat player would probably know better than me.

I really just wanted to make each strength level have more unique utility. Experimenting to see what sticks.  :)

I made most of the changes you suggested. The lack of ground recovery is intentional, but I may change that in another update. It's not something I use myself (in MUGEN anyway) so I never gave it much thought.

Not resetting the opponent with normals is also intentional but may also be adjusted in the future.

Regarding moves that set the opponent on fire, level 3 Tiger Cannons do in CVS2 and I believe Alpha 3 as well, but I haven't played that one in forever.

Some other notes:
LK Tiger Crush now comes out slightly faster
MK Tiger Crush is projectile invincible and travels lower but further than the others
HK Tiger Crush is the better anti-air of the bunch because of its angle. May change collision boxes as well to cement this
P2 can no longer air recover after being thrown, but ground recovery is still possible
For the envshakes, I kept most as is, but the Tiger Genocide ones were pretty egregeous, so I cut them in half  :P

- Not sure about some of his attacks (other than Tiger Raid) setting P2 on fire. Was it like that somewhere? Also I like the physics you added to the flames and might do something similar myself
I missed this part last time. Thank you, sir, I put a lot of effort into it.  :)

awesome to see good old mugen creator back  :8): I remember back in year 2010 or 2011, I always use umihei's Urien to challenge your Sagat and it was pretty fun to fight against him  :8): btw the last time I tried your Sagat out which was around the 2010 or 2011, his Tiger shot was difficult to execute where he would do his standing punch or kick at times much like pots' old Ryu and Shin Gouki which I wanted to contact you about it back then, but you were inactive. So I am not sure if this is adjusted in this version, man I wished I had the time to test this now, but still it is awesome to see you back to Mugen scene. I am looking forward to your Iori since the year (very long time ago) you posted some wip screenshots of him  :8):

Thanks, man! I didn't post much, but I still lurked every so often to see how the old place was doing. Always feel free to drop a PM.  :)

Regarding Tiger Shot cancels, he actually isn't supposed to be able to cancel far standing HP into specials. Same goes for the second kick of standing HK. You can do it with EX moves though.

I wouldn't miss the chance to test a character made by another old timer. ;D

Haha, we're vintage at this point. It felt good to get stuff done, and IKEMEN GO has me pretty excited as well.

Quote
But actually my main gripe with this Sagat is that he doesn't have enough surprises. Although the use of SF4 assets is a nice change.
Gotcha, he sticks pretty close to his CVS2 tools, EX moves aside. I have ideas that are coming, but I wanted to get this core update out first.

Gonna work on your feedback over the weekend, and this is exactly what I like to see. You were one of my favorite beta testers back in the day. Just to address a few things though.

Quote
I think EX special afterimages and palfx colors should match
Sorry, slightly colorblind lol (no, really). It looked fine to me but I'll adjust the values to be the same.

Quote
- Tiger Uppercut acceleration feels floaty. Very noticeable with the EX version
Would you say this is mainly while descending or during the entire attack (non-EX)?

Quote
You know I've been wondering whatever happened to your Iori ever since rediscovering that my Bison has an intro against him.
About that lol. I was going full speed ahead until I had an HDD failure back in the day. Or to be more precise my power supply went kamikaze on my entire PC.  I had backups, but by the time I got a laptop some 6 months later, I'd lost a lot of motivation. That's around the time I started working on Sagat. Doing something new got me back in the groove of things. Shortly thereafter  I graduated, immigrated to the US, and adult life became a rather intrusive thing.

Now I'm in a fairly comfortable place and have the time and drive to get bck into some old hobbies.  :)

Hey guys, it's been a while!

I released originally Sagat around 12 years ago, and because of life have been inactive since. I've started projects here and there but never saw anything through to completion.

In that time, I'd make minor edits here and there to my older characters to make them more playable. Sagat needed the least amount of work, so I recently decided to just dive in and finish what I had in mind. So, what's next? Address any bugs or issues you guys may find as well as some optimization here and there. As far as my other characters are concerned, Akuma was overhauled, but still needs a lot of updates and Hoahmaru...well, he was almost done, but was lost to the abyss of hard drive failure some time ago. So I plan to finally finish Iori then go back to those two.

Anyway, please see the changelog and obligatory video below. Thanks!

Changelog
-------------------
-Changed to SF4 hitsparks and SFX
-Tiger Uppercut and Tiger Shot are now cancellable into Tiger Cannon
-EX Tiger Uppercut's grounded hits are now unblockable in the air
-EX Tiger Crush now launches the opponent into the air
-Adjusted pretty much all of his attacks so that he isn't +20 on everything anymore. May have been done in accordance with CVS2 frame data. This was done years ago and I'm too lazy to check.
-Roll is now vulnerable while recovering
-Roll is now slightly faster
-A.I tweaked to make him less of a asshole, but challenging enough, I think
-J.lk stuns long enough to combo from now. Timing is a bit strict but it crosses up so have fun =]
-Removed invulnerability from Tiger Crush
-Tiger Crush more punishable if blocked
-Collision box tweaks
-General bugfixes

Necrobump for the ages!

I've created a fair bit of art over the years that I feel like sharing. Instead of creating a new topic, I figured I'd post them here so that my progress can be observed.  :)

Of course, all the flaws started sticking out as soon as I started posting, but whatever lol.

Yeah, it’s good to have fights broken up by mild bits of exploration but my expectations are very much in check with 13 lol. I’ve been playing so many open world games lately, in fact, that a linear adventure is just what I need.

I’m only an hour or so in (spent quite some time debugging various issues on PC) but I like the setting, focus and characters a lot more than 15.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition

So after thoroughly enjoying FF7 Remake I began searching for another fix. Having skipped everything after FF12, I decided to give FF15 a shot. I'd heard some...questionable things about it, but what the hell, I thought, it's only $15.

Well, what I found is the most boring, vapid game I'd played in a long time. I gave it a couple hours but I just couldn't drag myself through it.

I've since moved on to the PC version of FF13 which is much better, surprisingly. I'll do a small write up on that after giving it some more time.

Bayonetta (PC)

I'd always had an interest in this game, but heard the PS3 version was hot garbage. I recently upgraded to a reasonably capable laptop, so I finally decided to give it a go, and it is glorious! It's so fluid and stylish, with that cheesy anime flare that manages to not get too hokey.

It's actually making me want to give DMC4 another try...

Assassin's Creed: Origins

This is the first Assassin's Creed game to grab my attention since 3 destroyed any hope I had for the series. It's one of the best open world games I've played in a while, and the ancient Egypt setting is incredible.

The story kinda dragged on a bit, but it was a fun ride al the way through.

You can go straight to 4 without playing the previous games, but you will not have a full understanding of kratos' motives behind certain actions and his relationship with his son.
Kratos' motivations in the original trilogy really weren't that deep. He's trying to kill Zeus because he betrayed him out of fear. He's killing everyone else because they're in his way. That's pretty much it.

Quote
there are some characters from the previous games are referenced in 4, significant "things" are brought back to symbolize a certain aspect of kratos, and kratos' 180 character shift is directly related to something that has happened in gow 3 "the cycle".

I can think of one person that maaay be cause for concern, but he calls them by name and just Youtubing GOW3's ending will help with that. Everything else is explained thoroughly enough IMO. He'll be fine.

the son's probably one of theirs and is the heir to the Greek Pantheon.  Though I'd like to see what they'll do if that's incorrect.

You are very wrong lol.  :)

What would you say to someone who has never played the series, just viewed its rise and fall in popularity from the other side of the console gap, but wants to see what the big deal is with this game being apparently game of the year?  The first three just never seemed worth the hype they were getting without playing them.  Which is I'm sure a similar feeling to Halo over on the 360 for those stuck to the PS3, but my closest comparison is Devil May Cry and Dante's Inferno, and neither blew my mind. (Unless you want to stretch Kingdom Hearts to being comparable, but they seem too different in gameplay to me)

This one though the setting does very much catch my interest, and the father/son dynamic sounds much more engaging than mad dad getting revenge.  Is it worth just skipping the first three?  I can pretty much already gather what the big plot points were just from internet osmosis.

As Speedpreacher said, the game brings you up to speed on most of the relevant details, so I'd say go for it.

If I had to compare it to other games games, it feels more like a cross between Darksiders 2 and Dark Souls, than anything Devil May Cry related.

God of War

Barring Ascension, I loved all of the previous God of War games. After 3, though, I was a little burnt out. Thankfully this new entry takes things in a very different direction. Kratos has gone from an angry hunk of muscle to a relatable father, struggling both to forget his past while raising his son. The game is absolutely filled with ambient dialog, helping to flesh out the relationship between Kratos and Atreus.

Gameplay-wise, the reboot takes a fresh new turn for the series. While the introduction of RPG-like stats are a bit unnecessary in my opinion, the changes are generally for the better. It requires more thought, feels even more visceral,  and has more variety than the previous games.

It goes without saying, but the game is absolutely gorgeous. Sony Santa Monica has once again put their technical mastery on full display here. The sheer amount of detail is simply unreal.

If you like character driven, challenging action games be sure to pick this up. It's damn near perfect.

Assassin's Creed: Origins

Until now, I hadn't gone anywhere near AssCreed since 3 rubbed me pretty severely in the wrong way. After seeing some vids, and hearing that the side quests have a bit more substance, I decided to give it a go (plus a had $30 in Amazon bucks laying around).

I... am rather pleasantly surprised! The game controls well, combat is much, MUCH better and the side activities are actually engaging. It also helps quite a bit that I haven't had to tail anyone, but we'll see if I escape that completely. Ancient Egypt is a very interesting setting, as well.

I'm loving it!
