Thank you for updating Batsu in your style!
In my quick testing, I have two problems:

1. Double Zenkai Kiaidan command should be F,D,B,F,D,B+2K in the readme.
2. There are 6 running sprites, but only 4 are being used and it makes it look like he's limping.

That's weird. Like it's missing the font. Does it happen to my chars only? Can you see Kung Fu Man's movelist? I ask because I didn't do anything out of the ordinary with them.

Oh great point! I'm new to Ikemen on the mac so I clearly didn't think this through. Nope, KFM's movelist doesn't show up correctly neither. Case closed.

Heyyy, great to see updates from you man.

On the updates themselves, i really like the addition of modern moves and the new lvl3 evil portrait is damn cool.

Why the low res hitsparks though?, its like the one thing people do the most when they edit characters into your aesthetics bro.

Hitsparks are okay but I feel like they could A. Be Higher-Res, B. Use Stronger Colors.
I wanted to use Mugen's default spark system for a change, so with sticking to 1.0 I had to make them lower resolution. They were high resolution when the updates were for 1.1.

It’s amazing to see you back. I still remembered when your Ryu was still a WIP and you wanted to make a Ryu that included everything. Now that you are back and Karma is making a new Ryu that supposedly includes everything, it’s a very wholesome deja-vu. Thank you.

A bug I noticed is that Ryu would do his usual Ken intros even against Jmorphman’s Violent Ken.

I have been re-saving incompatible SFFs in FF3 before, so I hope this new version works as intended.
I am noticing a new error, however.

Oh that's interesting, thanks for this, would you mind letting me know one or more of the characters whose portraits aren't loading so I can test them and figure out what's causing the error?  That Psylocke is actually a character I tested with and it works for me, is this maybe a character whose SFF you had previously resaved?  If so maybe you could let me have a copy?  Thanks!

Fair warning: He is very different from the previous version so I put the older version in an extra folder in case somebody regrets their update lol.

I expect more bugs or infinites than usual cuz ive done a few new things so, all feedback is welcome as usual.

Important Notes:
- Remade almost all effects.
- Reduced filesize by about 2/3
- New balance and combos
- Simplified moveset, mostly inspired by sfiv
- SFV sound effects
- Cleaned up his voice
- Remade system effects
- Changed parry for just defend
- Added powercharge
- Added v-trigger
- Added SFV style damage dampener
- Should be fully 1.0 compatible, better in 1.1 though.
- Meant to be played in widescreen mode

I use VSelect to manage my select screen, but noticed back then with KoopaKoot's Takuma that the character would crash VSelect. The same problem occurs with King.

At the time of Takuma's release, I got in touch with the application's creator, Tunglashor, and he said that it's a problem with the way sprite files are saved by the software used to create the character (Fighter Factory Studio).  He eliminated the issue by opening and resaving the character using a different editor (e.g. an older version of Fighter Factory) and sent me the SFF. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a hold of him to find out which older version of FF did he use to solve the issue.

To those who couldn't get Shell.exe running, try changing your system locale to Chinese (Simplified).

and is iori only have 2 alt cause there's a third circle on the character select but i can't select the third one.

With Shell.exe, you can then change the game to different screenpacks that gives you access to EX-Iori (and EX-Kyo). Alternatively, you can also edit the select screen inside the shell to add characters to slots, which you can launch into training mode directly from shell.
For arcade mode, however, you'll need to be using the right screenpack.

This game is extremely well made. The creator did an amazing job and I can see why it took so long. Just out of curiosity though, what is the "shell.exe" used for? The mugen.exe runs the game fine, so I'm confused as to what the shell.exe is used for.

Shell.exe can be opened after changing the system locale to Chinese (Simplified). I believe that the application is only in that language.
What it does is to allow you to adjust the aesthetics of the game, including:
1. Screenpack
  • The last version of KOFW (Test 2.02, I believe)
  • KOFZ
  • Allstar (The default screenpack)

2. Hitsparks
  • XIII
  • XI
  • NBC
  • '03
  • '02
  • '98

3. Resolution
4. Volume
5. Unlimited health and power bars
6. Others, such as round duration, achievements, Athena randomly changing costumes on every special move, and a costume burst KO option for female fighters ala Art of Fighting and KOF '94 (which I couldn't get to work when I tried it... for science).

It also has move lists for all the characters and enables you to add fighters to the select screen in the shell, which you can launch training mode from directly by selecting those fighters (thus allowing you to select fighters not available on certain screenpacks, but only in training mode).

Overall it's an amazing companion to what is already an amazing game.

This is still by far my favourite KOF full game on MUGEN. I've been scouring Chinese forums hoping to see the day it gets updated :)
I realize that some characters are only available by changing the screenpacks (KOF 03 Kyo, XIII Iori, Kusanagi, etc). Do you know Vanny's rational behind that? The characters don't appear in the all star screen pack even if I edit them in via the shell.

I had a problem with Sakura crashing Mugen 1.1 at the last hit of Shoryuken.
Interestingly, despite not knowing what the issue was, it seemed to have been resolved in the newest update! Congratulations!

Being able to actually play her for the first time, I noticed this.

Just as a suggestion, have you considered asking Wani to use his Gen's running animations?
