Thanks for the reply Cyanide. What about my EDIT #2? Is that possible? Setting a variable in common1. cns and using it on other state files for the character. If it helps I could describe the specifics of what I'm trying to achieve.

If it is, maybe it's causing problems. You might be able to change it so it starts at time = 1.

Using P1's hitdef to make P2 turn should be all you need to correct this problem.

One crazy possibility is the animation's backwards??

Variables are for the character. Set one and its valid everywhere for everything. Helpers can redirect to it even if in their own file. Depending on your intpersistindex you can even call on it across rounds and matches. They're not locked to the state theyre set in.

That said. Helpers have their own vars. Set a var in a helper and you have to redirect to access it. Its not available naturally.

Mugen itself no. However you can talk about what it taught you from a problme solving perspective if asked and its a good gateway into the LOGIC of programming. However its just a gateway. Mugen code is useless for anything but mugen. Use what you learn and get into powershell or c++ or java or any one of the coding languages out there.

I have half ass powershell knowledge. But im also not a programmer. More of a script kiddy with a backend to take care of. Other people do the code.

If you want employers to judge your coding skillset, putting Mugen in your resume will tell them nothing about your ability to write code.  It's a DSL, and its skills are essentially non-transferable between other languages beyond basic operators, logic, and concepts.

It probably won't hurt too much to put Mugen in as a side note (assuming you have extra space, otherwise you should prioritize putting more important items that emphasize your skills and experience instead).  But this is probably more of something to describe your hobbies.  Listing your Mugen experience and projects and expecting it to hold the same weight as someone else's project written in a well known coding language... probably wouldn't work out too well.

Having reviewed resumes and performed interviews, it would definitely catch my attention if someone put Mugen in their resume.  Would that alone make me consider that person as a candidate?  No.  Depending on the position being applied for, I would most likely be looking for people who have demonstrated that they have experience with the specific language(s) and/or libraries that we're looking for.  As well as having projects that demonstrate their experience with OOP, and any other computer science skillsets that we are looking for.  Knowing that a person does Mugen stuff does not tell me much info on their relevant skills for the job.  I doubt that other employers looking for software developers would be able to get much useful info out of this either.  The only time I can imagine this to be more relevant would be if you were applying to some job that involved fighting game design.  But at that point, is what you're applying to still considered a software developer job?

What I love about this thread is that you post only finalized or nearly finalized sprites that are consistently of absolutely superb quality. Every last one of them is a gem.

I wanted to ask if yo have a Deviant and also if you sprite in other styles as well? Have you ever done SFA/CvS work at all? Man, I love your work.

Can't say I have anything in CVS style, I always preferred the harsher contrast in KOF sprites. I did study the animation in detail back when I was redoing Yamazaki so I have some familiarity but that's about it.

OFFICIAL THREAD ABOUT BASARA-KUN'S CLAYFIGHTER FULLGAME

Yeah, I finally decided to make a thread of this, so this will be dedicated to this possible fullgame. And yes, I didn't post it wrong, this thread belongs to the Idea Engineering as the planning thread to discuss everything related to this, so don't assume this is official yet.

CHARACTERS:

-CF1 and CF2 stages by Cenobite53 (not sure if they're open source, but will ask permission eventually)
-CF63 1/3 stages by Basara-kun (nothing yet, seeing how to get pics of them and so convert them into stages)

CF 63 1/3 Lifebars by Basara-kun (WIP, reworking on this and eventually reviving this)

SCREENPACK:
CF Screenpack by Basara-kun (nothing yet, still thinking about it but probably based on 63 1/3 and/or CF2 environment)

MUSIC:
ClayFighter YesterClay by Internet Archive, the OST will be used as songs for stages and screenpack

STORYBOARDS:
Fullgame intro and character endings by Basara-kun (nothing yet, but I learned a lot from this release of mine, so eventually will be made)

To anyone wanting to use Jamanen for their projects. There's a hentai one floating around that's not made by me without a ribbon around her neck. Personally I think that looks better.

Will be adding more sprites to her in the far future since I'm focused on Sailor Jupiter right now. I'll most likely add a grappling move from Venom from the Spider-Man arcade game by Sega.
