This is basically where i’ll put any ideas for Mugen that i end up getting.
Although they will mainly be concepts in writing, since as much as i want to code/edit characters, my knowledge of coding is still extremely limited, so even if i do end up making some edits, they would probably end up being really buggy.
I still want to try coding a character at some point, just probably not right now.
Anyways, back to the concept thread: Let’s start with a full game/gameplay style concept i’ll call Project Xross Max Battle. (Get it? It’s a PS3/PSP/PS2X reference.)
Spoiler: Gameplay (click to see content)
*Stocks max out at ether 3 or 5 (haven’t decided yet)
*3 attack buttons, light, medium, heavy
*Command attacks
*Forward, Back, & some Air Throws
*Simple motions for Directional Inputs (QCF, QCB, DD, DP, maybe RDP & some charge motions)
*Some Directional Inputs do different specials depending on the input (QCB+L does fireball, QCB+M does command grab, etc)
*EX attacks are done with Directional Inputs + ether H or L+M & cost 1 full stock of meter, like in Cross Tag & KOF XIII. (I’m having trouble deciding which one i’d want to use, though i’m kind of veering towards DI+H, since that’s how Cross Tag does it. I’ll put a poll up so you can weigh in.)
*Supers are preformed with Directional Inputs + M+H (namely QCF & QCB) & cost 2 full stocks of meter, also like in Cross Tag.
*Not sure what do with Super Cancels (as in making them free or only available in Max Mode)
*Critical Arts (Level 3 Supers) are preformed with Directional Inputs + 2 buttons (different from Supers, probably DD like Astrals in Cross Tag) & cost 3 stocks like in KOF XIV.
May only be usable with low health outside of Max Mode (Haven’t decided yet).
System:
*Maybe some ground only chain combos &/or short KOF XIV/Under Night style Smart Combos?
*Dash (Ground only, might include dash button)
*Forward & Backward Roll (includes Guard Cancel variant for 2 stocks), maybe Sidestep?
*Knockback Attack (includes Guard Cancel variant for 2 stocks)
*Crush Trigger (Hold K.A button, breaks guard when fully charged, like with Buckus’s characters).
May cost 1 or 2 stocks of meter (haven’t fully decided yet).
Max Mode:
*Works like KOF XIV or DivineWolf’s characters, requires 1 stock of meter to activate
*Enhances/changes properties of (certain) Specials & EX Specials, such as increasing speed, range, hits, etc.
Drains part of the Max Meter upon use, & EX Moves still require 1 stock to use, like Resonance Blaze in Cross Tag.
*Can preform 1 Super for only 1 stock (the Max Mode bar counts as 1 stock, & using a Super ends Max Mode instantly)
*Crush Trigger becomes Focus Attack from SF4 (armors 1 hit & stuns, can cancel into dash)
*May have some Critical Arts that can only be preformed during Max Mode, like Exceed Accel in Central Fiction, Astrals in Cross Tag, Shun Goku Satsu in SFV, etc.
I’ll post some character moveset ideas & other stuff later, when i think of some.
