What game was "SS2"?  Shodown?

The only anime game where I feel like I can keep up with JPN players is Aquapazza but then again it's been a while since I used combo links in that one =(  Speaking of which, lol at 3 Chizurus with the same striker in Top 8.

Also a bit sad that there was no Arcana listings next to the character's name in AH3's Top 8.

Gennos

just finished watching the Darkstalkers top 8 tournament and it was really good!
Haitani , MightyMar and Rotanibor had some mad skillz with their characters, not so much for that guy Dyne, was not very good with Jedah imo. he barely used his chain combos against Rotanibor, he didn't use the EX Spinning Blade (Dio Sega) as much as Jedah's Dark Force  :-\ which isn't very useful imo, there were also lots of chances where he could have trapped his opponents with Jedah's unblockable bubble move. but he didn't take them, and he rarely used the move, which would've worked very well against Rotanibor's rush style. he also never used one of Jedah's most useful specials, his confusing Air Grab/Spinner... dude, you shamed the dark lord
hope to see Darkstalkers next year too, keep the franchise alive guys :D

That's what it's all about. Yeah main stage games are nice and all but playing or seeing the games we love in action is the best part of it all, regardless of popularity.

See? That's where I failed in like.. all the tournaments I entered, I got eliminated (or sent to losers, sometimes both) by Japan. But that's that's fine with me, only you can get that kind of competition at EVO and it's awesome to finally be able to play such niche games offline against other people. DFC's netcode is just... ugh.

I know the feeling, you go there to compete and play people from all over the world so DQs don't feel right.
It was just great all around to see those games there. I would totally entered Aquapazza, but I never really played it enough to understand the game. As far as DFC's netcode goes, it's a coin toss, but online in that game has was really irritating me weeks prior EVO, since things that shouldn't end up working, such as any wake up AB attack. I guess that's online though. At least people were right when they told offline was a hell of a lot different, but I'm not surprised though, for obvious reasons.

On a side note, I was one of the people that competed in the money match against GO1 in DFC and out of the 5 people, with myself included, I was the only one to actually take rounds off of him. Sadly he didn't use Shana against me, but apparently his Kirito is ranked 3rd in Japan, or so I was told. I was surprised I was able to do what the others couldn't. I still lost $30 though. xD

Congrats!
Many thanks.

Yo http://www.twitch.tv/guardbreak/b/679012249

They kept botching my name. I entered as the usual, but some how the guy read it as "Monster666" and then I tried to correct him, then he kept calling me "Mooster666" for some reason. Later on in the set, one of the commentators asked what my handle was and I told just told him "MooMaster" and that some how became "Moonmaster" which was puzzling.

This was about the part where I became the...MoonMaster for one day: http://www.twitch.tv/guardbreak/b/679012249?t=2h30m08s
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was able to track down the results of the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo singles tournament I entered, and I found out I got 13th place with Cammy. I'm even surprised about that.

So for my first EVO and tournament, I got 5th place in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax with Akira and Dokuro-Chan assist, 13th place in SSF2T with Cammy, and 3rd place in Samurai Shodown 2 with Cham Cham.

All in all, I really surprised myself, since I went into every game thinking I wouldn't do that good. This really showed me that I downplay myself too much, but again, I am still surprised. I'm going next year again for sure and my manager, Kamekaze, will be assisting me again too.

No

S.D.

Aquapazza isn't that hard to understand, especially if you're played DFC, it's slower paced too, you just have to always be on the offensive, otherwise you'll get guard broken by low emotion. The rest is the same, cover yourself with your assist, use them for combos, etc. The most difficult part is learning how to block and punish some really dumb characters (Chizuru)

I really can't do DFC online, I can't even do Akira's bnb online (dash 6B, 214A, A, B, jA, jB, djB, djC, 236C, Dokuro) the delay makes it so my jump A rarely connects, and I can't even bother with the extended mid screen version.

I'll definitely enter more side tournaments next year, this year was kinda hectic for me since I had to put aside a lot of time to hang out with some NorCal guys who wanted to meet me (This year is probably the one where I've spent the least amount of time at EVO, I played everything on Friday and then I was practically done with the event), I didn't even check the Anime Suite (But I did hang out with plenty of people who helped organize the events)

See you next year with more poverty games like Blade Arcus and Nitro+ I guess.

Good shit moo. And here I thought I was the only one in mfg that was good at fightn gamz  : D

Lets all link up next year!!!

Gennos

why didn't you guys participate in USF4 or any of the main stage games? you didn't travel to Las Vegas just to play side tournaments?
Quote from: https://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.2469816I'm going to let god handle you people ✞

Renzo F

AFAIK Luis Alejandro doesn't play USF4, he just plays UMVC3.

For the rest, competing might be just a part of the experience; the vibes you get in there are a big part for me. It's a show after all.
