Problem with adding new characters

Hello !

I'm new here, so, well ... hi everyone. x)

I recently downloaded Mugen 1.0 for a school art project. I read a few tutorials on the internet and here I am, with an issue no one seems to have.
I tried to install a couple of characters, that I downloaded on the web. I checked how to add them, so here what's I've done :
- I placed the folder of said character in the \chars folder, with a folder name matching the one in the .def file.
- I updated the select.def file, with this line :
ryo, stages/kfm.def
- I launched mugen, but my new character isn't appearing ... same with the other one I tried to add.

I tried replacing a character already existing (kfm), and putting the .zip file in the \chars folder instead (as explained in the select.def file) but it didn't work neither.

Does anybody know how to solve this ?

Hi.

can you try this.

ryo\ryo.def

and if that also doesnt work, open the folder to confirm the folder inside chars\ryo\ actually has the def there? something could have not extracted right.


if it still doesnt work post a pic of the folder so we can check it out.

I checked the folder \chars\ryo, you were right Iced, there was no def file in there. So I tried with my other character, and the problem was that the name of the folder was the one on the .sff file, not the one on the .def file. So, it works now, thank you a lot ! :]
